Satellite A200-1N9 fan begins to run faster and become strong

Hello

So, I have a strange problem. When my fan starts to run faster it bocome so loud, I can't work.
What is more strange when he has bocome hard I can't start new programs and programs already running freezes.

What kind of sorcery is this?

Sincerely

Hello

This occurs because a process running in the background constraints the CPU at 100% and this creates more heat dissipation and the fan on and short shot more quickly to cool the CPU. In addition, the CPU is locked and therefore the system hangs for a while.

You should check what method or tool stresses the CPU.
You can start the task (CTRL + ALT + DELETE) Manager and check the processes tab.
Here you can see in the CPU column which processes are using most of the CPU performance.

    Hey everybody.
I recently bought a Satellite A200-1SX and I noticed that the fan is running constantly for about 5 seconds then turns off.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Is this normal? Is there a software that can help me?

    Thanks to a bouquet.

    Hi mate,

already tried a BIOS update? It would probably help, but I can't promise you...
To download the latest version of the BIOS on the Toshiba site just go here-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/home.do?service=EU&from=http%3A//www.toshiba-europe.com/

and join the drivers download section is you just have to go to "Support and downloads"-> 'Support Home Page'-> ' download - download drivers ' and choose your machine and the desired driver/tool. (In your case the BIOS updated)

Another option would be to modify the powersaver, so that the won´t FAN turn all the time. You can keep your machine much quieter by choosing parameters of performance lower (I think that the low performance shouldn´t be recognizable during 'normal' work) which translates (or should) in less than rotation of the FAN.

Just check it out by clicking on 'Toshiba Powersaver' in the 'Control Panel'.

  • Satellite A200 PSAECE - fan of Windows 7 (& BIOS)

    Dear community,

I installed the latest version of BIOS Toshiba offers for Windows Vista (v.1.80 21/08/07) and I'm running on Windows 7 on a Satellite A200 PSAECE.

The fan is very VERY strong. I've heard talk of a solution would be to return to a previous version of the BIOS but I can't find it anywhere.

No indication of how to proceed? Something must be done about it, cannot even bring the laptop to the cause of the library of people complain. (The fan was MUCH less noisy before...)

    Thank you!

    G.

    Hello

Go to the Windows 7 power management and change the settings of the most friendly battery.
There should also be an option that decrease the performance of the processor, and this could slow down the cooling performance.

  • Satellite A200 - noisy fan and crashing Windows

    Hello

I have Toshiba A200-28 s, bought in the summer 2008 the Russia.
Before, I had a noisy fan, but as I read on the internet, it is common in Toshiba laptops.
But anyway, I tried to Flash the BIOS (update), also for performance and other reasons. 1 week ago
I downloaded the file to update the bios of Toshiba web site drivers. Update went well. Although I realized this fan noise has not changed. So far the fan was ok and I didn't experience any overheating.
Also, I tried to clean the ventilation with vacuum.

Today, when I switched on my laptop, windows started normally and after a while when I started my browser and check e-mails, fan started making really loud and strange noise, like a small hairdryer. And then windows froze. I turned it off directly (pressing and holding the power button / stop). I started again, this time I opened the program to the speed of the fan to check the temperature.

After a while, windows froze and fan started making the same sound. Last I read was 49 C. And before that all happened, I checked the core temperature from time to time, and they were 60 C maximum, average 50-52 c.

Then I started Windows in safe mode. After about 15 minutes, it's the same fan.

Now, I started windows again in safe mode. And the fan noise seems normal. Temperature is 61. I use only the browser. I hope I'll be able to post this thread.

I put t think it's because of the dust. Usually, I check how hot my laptop is, and is usually warm, not hot.

I have the warranty, but I don t want to consider serving because I need it for my thesis. I think that in the service it will take at least 2-3 weeks for them to fix it.

Please help me. Thank you for your time.

    Seymur

    Hello!

First of all, what OS do you have?

In my opinion, the temperatures are normally and don t forget that the fan must sometimes run to cool the CPU. Otherwise, it can be damaged.

If you have Windows XP, you must install the Toshiba Power Saver. With this tool, you can change the speed of the CPU and cooling method
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

In the worst case you have to send it for repair to an authorized service provider, but don t be worry. I have good experience with this because the technicians are very useful and they will be committed to repair your laptop as soon as possible.
My experience is that it takes only 1.5-2 weeks.

    Good bye

  • Satellite C55 - PSCG8E FAN revolves when pluged fast

    Hello

My laptop FAN is running very quickly and loudly when plugged to the power source AC.
However, the FAN runs silently when the battery is used.

The laptop is new and so far only the antivirus application is running.

Is this a normal behavior or a problem?
Normally a FAN run as fast when the CPU is hot and many applications are running.

    Kind regards
    :-)

    Hi Yassine

Don t be worried about the behavior of this laptop, it's not unusual
The reason why the fan runs faster when the adapter CA is plugged it very simple: Windows system use different settings, using battery power or sector.

Use the battery mode, the system is configured differently in order to save battery power and to increase the working time for laptop.

You can change the settings in the control panel-> power options.
You will find different powers plans
Click on the current power plant and check change advanced power settings.
Here you will find the parameters for the method of cooling (sometimes it s placed within the Toshiba power saver or processor power management).
There you can change political cooling system: you will choose either active or passive

  • S2: fan runs fast and stops and runs quickly and stops

See also: I have exactly the same problem, very annoying with the fan and already had bios updated by our support team. The S1 fan is running at a constant speed. How can I do the fan of the S2 to ride at a constant speed.

    Toshiba has a solution?

I just got my (used to have a S1) S2, but the fan is very noisy. It is noisy it is even annoying me during labor.

I updated the driver in power saving mode and the power to register the software. But the sound remains.

The fan also seems to operate continuously at full speed. Especially when loading the batteries upwards again.

    In battery mode
In battery mode the fan starts, goes to high speed, stops for a short period, starts, going at high speed, stops for a shotr then that implemented site, etc etc this cycle is repeated over and over again. Very annoying.

Why as with the S1 series where the fan seems to work constantly but that at low speed if you do not hear it.

    Mode full power
The fan only is in battery mode back regularly at top and goes down to reduce speed also with regular periods. Why not let the fan turns at average speed?
And as written above when the battery GET fans continue to run at high speed noisy!

Is there an update of the material of possibel with a fan with less noise? Maybe by any other type of fan.

I think to go back to my S1 and sell this S2 as it is very boring school work.

    Hello Jan

I understand you very well. I use Tecra M2 and it is very interesting that in my case, the cooling fan runs periodically at the level of the low speed and if I work in the Office I can hear any.

On your device, hot air comes out on the left side, and in my opinion it is a little stronger than on the units that have this placed at the rear. Unfortunately I can't tell you anything about replacing cooling ventilation. In this case, you can try to test all options in the power management (cooling method and the performance of the processor). I put t know if the BIOS update can help, but you can try it. Finally, try to remove the tool, restart the device and check how it works without this tool.

    Good luck!

  • Re: Satellite L550D-12F - fan is always running

    Hello!

We have a Toshiba L550D-12F and we are quite satisfied with the device itself - if it wasn't noisy fan. The fan ALWAYS runs audibly and I can't find any setting in the BIOS to its control.

For my pain verxy I do not also find a support contact form to contact Toshiba so I hope that someone here will have a solution... Thank you very much!

    Sincerely,
    Matthias

    Hello guys

I hope that my advice will help a little. I recommend you to use the laptop with the balanced power plan. Pleae change also advanced for this plan. In the advanced settings, you will find Toshiba power saver and the cooling method options. Place the change on the lower level.
It should reduce the activity of fan.

For example, when I use my Tecra A11 at the office for Office and mail applications I use for laptop and power management standby runs very quiet but the performance are always good.

  • M4: Regulation of the CPU power and fan - tablet is running hot and noisy

My M4 is running hot and and the frequent active noisy fan in the normal power setting. This allows to improve some during the definition of the maximum energy saving options: battery life. But still the fan starts running and short relatively frequent. The fan noise is high enough to be quite irritating in a quiet environment.

    Is this normal?

Also my M4 allows on occations to memorize the fan.
Cpu temperature drops from 58 to about 44 C after awhile, but the fan still works.
However, if I go on hold for 1 second and back, fan control is reset and the fan turns off.
Yourself or others behave the same?

Conditions are improving a little tuning down the cpu down voltage using hardware control (NHC) Notebook

East of problems common to the M4 or Tecra series?

    Hello

If the operating temperature of the machine goes upward, so that the cooling fan turns on.
Many parts for example produce a lot of heat from the graphics card.
In addition the CPU temperature increases if many processes are running in the context of the operating system or if you are working with programs (i.e. playing games).
If you have a laptop computer with a processor that is hot much faster one and then another, it must be cooled more often.
You can believe me :) It's not a fault!

If you wish, you can try changing the cooling method parameter in Toshiba power saver utility.

    Best regards

  • The fan frequently betwenn oscilates fast and slow

My satellite phone to old is 15 months - for the past 2 months, he developed a tendency to switch from one mode of ventilation of fast and slow in a cycle of a second. A colleague IT tried air compressed to clean any dust - this made little difference.
Is this likely to lead to failure problem? Is this a case of dissambling fan housing and more thorough cleaning? Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

It of a simply that after awhile of use of the laptop it s necessary to clean the cooling module.
During the use of the laptop fans suck up dust all the time. Usually, the dust is responsible for a bad performance of the cooling modules.

  • Satellite A200-1FL (PSAE6), ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 and WXP

    Hello

I have a Satellite A200-1FL (PSAE6), anyone know if it really works algun driver for ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 with XP. Since I proved (I tried) a bunch of drivers and no work included the fact that adds Toshiba in his (her, your) official release page Display Driver of Ati 8.383.1.1000, thank you.

From time to time, I think you should check the page European driver of Toshiba.
To my knowledge, unique drivers are downloaded and out very often.

You can also take a look on Toshiba Canada website. You can also find some useful graphics drivers!

Finally the www.omegadrivers.net site is very useful and the GPU driver from this page works on my laptop.

So this may seem like a stupid question, but if I intend to spend of the installed 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD of the Satellite Pro A300 1EA to a 7200 RPM drive HARD (do not know the ability yet) and I was wondering how to make recovery disks (downgrade from Vista professional and XP Professional) coming with the work of the laptop with the HARD disk that does not part of factory as drives for my understanding restore the system...

The size of the drive HARD replacement has something to do with the thing?
If the replacement HARD drive is also 160 GB system see the difference? And even if it was smaller or larger the system see the difference?

I have not even bought the laptop but will soon and it is a little urgent.

I think that he should t be a problem with an upgrade to a faster and bigger HARD drive.
But before you switch the HARD disk, you must create the Toshiba Recovery DVD using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
After the recovery disk has been created, you can move the hard drives.

  • Satellite A200 - how to use the disk recovery and backup all the files?

Hi I have a Satellite A200 that came with a "product recovery cd. Recently I got an infection/trojan/spyware such as windows defender was taken over by something else (a lot of error abnormal messaes and asking me to purchase the full version). I'm no expert, but surely, I know that windows defender is a free program.

Anyway, please could someone give me advice on the best way to solve this problem. that is the best option to use. Is there anyway that I can back up the files that I have (with the exception using an external HD drive).

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

_How to use the recovery disk? _
That s pretty easy: insert the diskette and boot from it that s all!
In addition, you will need to follow the instructions on the screen and make a few clicks, but that s really all!

    _How to save files? _
First of all I m asking you ask for it. You didn't make a backup yet? What do you do if your HARD disk down the next morning?

In any case, the Toshiba recovery disc erase your entire HARD drive. This means that you must back up your files to an additional disk. Everything on the drive HARD internal will be deleted.

You don t want to use an external HARD drive? Why?
