Re: I accidentally erased all external Toshiba 500 GB USB 2.0 3.5 "

I accidentally crushed everything on the hard disk, substituting a backup of my hard drive of the laptop and its recovery file, somehow lost the rest of the free space.

I went to a COMPUTER store and it therefore partitioned space has on the once again, but when I plug it into my PS3 it no longer recognizes it.
I wonder if this is because the folder of toshiba that was on it was wiped out.

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks, Chris

Hello

You have plugged into the PS3, but what happens if you connect it to your common/laptop running Windows Vista or Win XP OS?

First Workstation uses the vmdk files - vhd is a different format.

If you create your Oracle VM you must create it directly on the USB drive - this means in the vmx-file - a relative path to the vmdk (the VM configuration) can be used.

This means that you can plug this disc to another host and still use it.

    Don't worry driveletters.

Resemble the vmx-line that gives the path to the disk

    scsi0.0.filename = "oracle.vmdk".

Do not fill the USB drive more so let say 90% or you will get poor performance

  • Why my XP does not recognize a Toshiba 500 GB USB external drive... it does not appear in disk management or in computer

Bought a new Toshiba 500 GB drive external usb.  My XP desktop won't recognize/find this disc.  It does not appear when you view the disk management or work station.  I also have it on my new laptop (Vista) and it has been found immediately.  My research online only tells me to find the external drive in disk management and assign a drive letter to... but I don't think to assign a letter! Toshiba says that the drive is compatible with XP. I have another smaller disk capacity that work perfectly on the XP machine.  Please tell us what should I do to have my Office XP recognize the
is the new external hard drive.  E-mail address is removed from the privacy * or * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Three things that you have not yet mentioned are

    1. don't change you the registry suggested by the KB Article (see: a computer that is running Windows XP cannot detect a USB flash drive, an iPod from Apple or an external hard drive)?  I suggest do it manually instead of using the FixIt.

2 represents the drive recognized in the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK)

3 is the drive recognized in your BIOS (press the corresponding key on startup).

Reformat to FAT32 was probably not necessary (and you'll probably want to re - format to NTFS before use).  XP has no problem with large (> 500 GB) external USB drives.

  • Accidentally erased all of the start menu

So, today, not really knowing what I was doing, I accidentally erased EVERYTHING in my Start menu!

I was able to get most of the icons back in there but there are three programs which are also pinned to the taskbar and if I start it, it will appear in the start menu, unless I have pin. So my real question is, how can we add a program that is already pinned to the start menu toolbar? (No, not pinning)
Another question is, can I get back my Start Menu what she looked like, let's say a week ago?
Answer quickly and I thank you in advance for any answers.

Yes, System Restore to a point before you made the changes should fix the start menu.

I had a computer on 18/08/2014 crash. I tried to recharge my sync settings, but he's willing to default. How can I recover all parameters that were on my browser since 17/08/2014?

Sync keeps a version of the data. If you've accidentally deleted your sync data, he went from the sync server.

What about other devices connected to this sync account? Your data should be on other devices.

  • I accidentally erased all the desktop icons in Vista Basic. Restoration has not replaced these icons.

With the help of iolo System Mechanic I see these icons as defective connections but have no solution.

    Hi, DeansWL,

Before using iolo to clean the system, have you created a backup image?  If so, search for the backup file, double click to restore the icons.

    Rebuild the icon cache

Right-click on command prompt and select run as administrator

    Type the following command:

C:\Users\\AppData\Local (put your username in where ProfileName is)

    Press enter

    Type:

    attrib-h IconCache.db

    Press enter

    Type:

    Del IconCache.db

    Press enter

    Type:

  • Toshiba 500 GB drive hard laptop usb will not play on my samsung tv

My Toshiba 500 GB - usb portable hard drive won't play movies I recorded on it through my tv, but it will be on my iMac. Is it because the format is Mac OS extended rather than MS-DOS (Fat 32) as my other USB key that makes? If so, how can I change the format

You ask on an EHD Toshiba working on your TV. If you want this to work, what I would recommend becoming an Apple TV ($59 refurbished from the Apple Online Store) and then use Apple TV to stream media.  If you are not familiar with the ATV please watch this link. Connect the TV directly on the EHD has nothing to do with your iMac or OS X, you really need an ATV to make it work with your iMac.

  • Toshiba 500 GB external HARD drive is no longer detected - after only 1 hour

    Hey,.

I finally got my Toshiba 500 GB external hard drive delivered today. I had no problem setting up and to turn my laptop on, it immediately recognized and I started to transfer things for her.

However, I accidentally stood on the USB cable to the HARD drive and disconnected. I plugged it in, but my computer did not recognize.

Nothing I've tried has worked, always, the laptop does not recognize the hard drive.

Please help, I've only had the one hour thing, and it already does not work! I really hope that I have not only lost £56...

All advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

NEW: My father just tried plugging the HARD drive in the desktop PC is on the ground, and as soon as the USB when it is in the port, you stop the computer... causing him to lose a lot of important business email, he wrote. It starts the computer, the USB and you stop again... and this has happened 3 times until he gave up. What on Earth is wrong with this thing? I've never heard of a USB cable, stop a computer permanently, or a hard drive that does more after an hour of use...

The USB port on the HARD drive may have been damaged and may be causing the PC detect a short power.

You can try another USB cable? If it is not the cable, then the HARD drive should be sent to a Service Center for repair or replacement.

  • Laptop sees no external Toshiba USB HDD 500 GB

    Hello

my new Toshiba drive hard external 500 GB USB does not appear in the laptop with USB 2.0

The light of the HD post OK

Tried all USB ports three (sockets) of the laptop.
    Can you help me please?

Try to use a key USB * Y * cable that allows you to connect the external HARD drive to two USB ports.
The point is that the common USB 2.0 ports provide 500mA max power.
That is why it s advisable to connect two USB ports to make sure that enough power would be supplied on the HARD drive.

Why not be honest the backup & recovery from other manufacturers of portable computers are not known to me, but you can store and back up all files on the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L505: recovery would erase all my partitions?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L505, using Windows 7 Home Premium. I created a "recovery disc" using Toshiba Recovery Media Creator, saved to a USB key.

My hard drive is divided into 2 partitions (using disk management, in computer management), a major, c contains the operating system and all of my installed software and secondary, D:, all my data.

I would like to reinstall Windows 7 using the USB recovery, but my question is: which clears the main partition, c only, or it will delete everything in D: so?

    Thank you very much!

    > will erase the main partition, c only, or it will delete everything in D: so?

The Toshiba Recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive and would also be possible to erase all partitions that are created on the HARD drive
Therefore, you must back up the data on an external (USB HDD, drive, USB flash memory, etc.) before you run the recovery procedure
