  I don't know if it will work, but if you own CS2, then you qualify for the special version which is available now.  Maybe you can install that and then CS3 will recognize that it is installed.

  As it is, if you try to install your own version of CS2 you wouldn't able anyway.  There is no available activation server.  You can read this about and how to get the special version at the following link:

  If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps.  the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

  Please check, if you really deleted applications Adobe (including Adobe Reader etc) and the caps.db is deleted. It can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\caps. It records everything installs / uninstalls, so if it #s still here, he would still have information about previous CS4 stuff that could adversely affect obtaining CS3 on the system.

  Out of the blue all programs in CS3 has stopped working on Windows 7.   I received the message indicating that licensing has stopped working.  After a chat with a tech and passing by the tool of restoration of the license and all the other options, he gave... I was advised to uninstall and reinstall.  I uninstalled, I also used the CS3 cleanup tool.  When I go to re - install, I am prompted with the message: "the file AdobePDF.dll is needed.  I googled the significance of this and followed the instructions on the Adobe site.  I was able to locate and copy the AdobePDF.dll on my desktop and tried to navigate to it to continue the installation.  However, each time the installation fails.  There is no specific error given the failure.

  I tried to chat with a tech on this subject but received the classic "I'm sorry, because you are facing a problem of Design Premium CS3 and the latest version is Design Premium CS5.5, we are unable to provide the cat or by phone support for your product.

  I don't want to be forced to level as it is not profitable.  We paid a lot of money for this software and expect it to work.  I do not use any of what third-party registry cleaners goofy nor I made any changes to my OS.  I have seen other people have this problem, but no solutions have been posted.  If someone could answer this, I would appreciate it because I lost two days now.

  You have installed a newer version of Acrobat / Reader and her play with your CS3. Uninstall every ounce of Adobe software, remove the caps.db and then try again.
