Re-install windows 7 home prem on a hard drive replaced

I have a HP probook 4520 laptop computer s which is come with a pre-installed win 7 home prem copy OA 32 bit, when I bought my laptop I was told that I need to reinstall the windows it is possible to simply reinstall without cd or dvd as the copy of windows is saved on the laptop, in any case now my laptop is out of warranty (it just just expired a month ago) and my hard drive crashed, there was no way to get what was in it, so I had to buy a new hard drive, now my problem is, how do I install a new original and an activated copy of windows 7 on my computer, knowing that the only thing that I have now is the sticker on the back of my laptop which has number of authenticity Windows that has been installed on the hard drive dead (the former)? is anyway to do this? Help, please

is it OK to install the copy of 64-bit and not 32 Bit? the product key will work?

I want to install the 64-bit because I need RAM reading entirely, as the 32-bit edition do not recognize fully...

The key of Windows 7 works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.

First, make sure that the 64-bit drivers are available for your computer - check with the manufacturer.

If you are moving to 64 bit make sure that your computer can run 64-bit - you can use the Upgrade Advisor to check:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

Case of failure of the online activation:

Call Microsoft use the manual phone Activation

Note: If you always install Windows page enter your product key, do not enter your key and uncheck the "Automatically activate when online" then click OK/next to complete the installation.

1. open Windows Activation - click on the Start button, right-click computer, click Properties, then click the option to activate Windows now or change your key.

2. click on show me other ways to activate.

3 type your Windows 7 product key, and then click Next.

4. click on use the automated phone system.

5. click on the location nearest you from the drop-down list, and then click Next.

6. dial one of the available phone numbers listed.

7. do not select all options and wait for a person pick up, then explain what happened.

    Genuine Windows clean install

    Hello

I had a problem with my laptop Acer Extensa 5230th. It was not started and so I took for Matech computers.  They diagnosed as having a mechanical drive problem.  So they replaced the drive and installed a more recent version of windows vista on.  Note: I haven't bought a new copy of vista family premium, he said he was going to reinstall vista.  It had windows Vista Home Basic, it has installed vista Home premium and said that he had validated by call from windows, but I'm suspicious because I don't think you can use a base of windows key to validate Home premium!  It means that he has put on an illegal version on windows or used the genuine key that came with the laptop.

In addition, on computers of brands, if this happens again, how is a technician for legally to reinstall the original windows that it came with the new hard drive? How to install windows vista basic on the new hard drive by using the original key to make it genuine? What windows installation disc would you require? or is it easier to just buy a new copy of windows?  I heard that many technicians, prefer to install illegal versions of cracking of windows instead of the customer to buy the new installation of windows.
    Kind regards

How you try to install Windows XP Home Edition?

You may receive an error message "Stop 0x0000007B" in the following scenarios:

    (a) a device driver that your computer boot controller needs is not configured to start during the startup process.

    (b) a device driver that needs your computer startup controller is damaged.

    (c) It can also occur if the hard drive in the BIOS configuration is bad.

You can check if the SATA hard drive is correctly configured in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) & can also update the BIOS. If you are not comfortable to do, you can contact the manufacturer of your computer for help.

Note: Changing the BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hello world!

Recently, I bought a new laptop, Satellite A200 - 1 GB, and after two weeks of fighting against windows Vista I decided to uninstall it and install WXP whose permit, I bought a long time ago.

I restarted my computer with the Windows XP cd to the inside and I start the system with it, but when it loads all the controllers and I proceed with the installation of windows xp, it says that there is no disk (probably) in my laptop.

I hope someone can help me. Someone at - it windows XP installation experience in this laptop model?

    Hello

The species has been described several times here in the forum of Toshiba.
Recommend studying a little ;) would use the advanced search option Forum!

But because you're a beginner, that I'll try to give some useful advice.
The HARD drive is not visible because you need to first install the Intel Matrix storage controller.
This controller can be downloaded form or another page Toshiba or Intel page.

During the installation of XP, you will need to press the F6 key to include this iMSM in the XP installation. You will need an external USB HDD drive to do this.

But if you want, you can build an own XP CD using nLite software and could understand this iMSM in the XP CD again.

  • I have a serial number valid for windows Vista Home Basic, but my hard drive crashed and I have no way to re - install vista on my computer. I am looking for a download so I can do it.

Basically, I installed windows 2000 on my machine and I can't find a download for windows vista home basic that doesn't have some kind of crack or keygen. I want a legal copy not a hack. I have the serial number supplied with my computer. where can I find this download or get a drive.

Here are all LEGAL for Vista:

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Difficulty to install Windows XP because of the missing HARD drive driver

    Hello

I recently bought a P200-1 and I try to install Windows XP instead of Vista.
I bought Windows XP Home Edition. Installation was first arrested for lack of HARD disk drive.
Classic message: «Setup didn't find any hard drives installed in your computer»
I downloaded Toshiba support "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" (pilot: ICH8M_32bits).

The contents of this directory was extracted to the root of a disk.
I restart my PC with XP CD-Rom and floppy drive connected. Setup download SATA AHCI floppy driver (press F6, and then later S key).
The installer can read disks and partitions and offers the choice of a partition for the installation of XP system.

After you have selected a partition, the installation begins and the installation program asks to insert "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" in drive A.
Here's the problem: floppy drive not responding, disk is not read and XP installation stops.
Ask for a second time to insert the floppy is suspect because he thought the driver drive HARD has already been read successfully.

    What can I do now?

    Thank you for your help

    JR

    Hello

The problem might be that you have formatted the HARD drive (partition) or created a new partition after the installation of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
In this case the formatting removes the driver from the HARD drive.

Another possibility is the use of software called nLite. This software allows to include the SATA driver in the XP installation CD.

Simply search for nLite and you will get lots of useful details.

    Greetings and good luck

  • Windows XP home on a new hard drive installation

I have an Omnibook xe2 with a new hard drive. The old hard drive has windows 2000 pro on this subject. The hard drive failed completely. I bought a new hard drive for her specifically for the Omnibook xe2. I don't have the disc pro 2000 windows or a boot drive for it. I have a XP home disc. How can I install the XP home without that old operating system disk pro 2000? Microsoft says that I need the old pro 2000 disk to load the new XP home system. Thank you for your help.

If your XP disc is an 'Upgrade', you will need an earlier version of windows will first be installed on the computer ie: Windows 2000. If the XP disk is a "full" Version you will need to set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive, and then boot from the drive and install Windows XP. To set the boot order, press on and press f2 at startup. Follow the prompts to set the boot order for the CD/DVD drive. Save the settings and exit. Place the disc in the CD drive and start the computer, follow the prompts to install Win. XP

  • install win 7 home on the new hard drive on old Inspiron N5010

My daughter N5010 has a faulty hard drive I want to replace and load win 7 Home premium (it was what was on it when she bought new in 2010)
I downloaded an .iso of digital river and will burn on dvd for installation.  However, the COA on the bottom is quite warn and I cannot read the product key, also, the barcode is also quite warn and cannot parse.  hard drive, that I took out is dead, so there is not using the key of it.  I have read several posts here and watched videos that will happen on google searches, but don't know if I'm getting good information.  How I get the correct key to activate the operating system?  did this on a new original hard drive different from the resettlement on the hard disc descriptions?  I called dell support and told him a hard guy to understand that the downloaded .by don't work with this laptop, but I suspect he wanted to sell me a software warranty and new discs.  Maybe it's correct?  What is my best option here?
    Thank you for your attention...

However the slp cert is identical for each single Dell system running with Windows 7 Home Premium factory settings or installed with a Windows 7 Home Premium DVD Dell reinstallation, you cannot back up your own files.

If you get a Dell reinstallation DVD, you will use the same activation mechanism. I have backup upward cert for each version of Dell for Vista and 7 as well all that you need to do is copy program to extract the ABR folder and run restore activation.

  • Satellite A100 - how to install "Windows XP MCE" on a new HARD drive?

I have a laptop Satellite A100-495. the cd/dvd does not work and I have a new hard drive. Now, I want to install the original os (windows xp professional, mce).
I'm trying to put the files of my original restore on a USB cd but never works and I did not find useful clues in any part of the forum.

Is there anyone out there who can help me?

    Hi, marawe

It would never work if you just copy the files from recovery Cd on a usb key. You need to make a BOOTABLE FLASH DISK, to do you need an application like Flashbot... Google.
Download and install it, after that you can make a bootable usb key.
You should know that your Bios must support boot with a Usb key, I don't know about your knees. Otherwise, you cannot do so. Hope it works

    Welcome them

  • Install Windows 7 Pro on the second HARD drive located in Optibay

    Hello

I have a 2009 15 "MacBook Pro C2D 2.66 with 8 GB of ram and a 480 GB SSD as my main drive. I will be to install a secondary HARD drive in the optical Bay. I want a 250 GB partition for a boot camp and 750 GB partition which can be read by OS X and Windows. 750Go partition will be used mainly on the side of the OS X to store photos, movies, music and documents but would be like training camp to access incase I need a file or two. I have already twisted boot camp to allow a windows usb installation and wonder what to do next steps are. I have read several forums and it's possible but instructions on the forums seem to be a specific user. Thanks in advance.

    1. on your specific Mac, windows should be on the main drive Bay. It will be also problems to start.

    2. do not modify the Info.plist Bootcamp and try the USB installation. You spend hours trying and it will fail.

    3. you must use the internal optical drive, integrated to install Windows on the main drive Bay.

    4. Once Windows is installed and fully functional, you can then replace the Optibay drive.

    5. do not throw your optical drive. If you need to repair Windows, you will need to return to the standard hardware configuration.

    6. you can have problems even under normal circumstances with a dual Setup, so be prepared for adventures in such a configuration.

  • How to install windows 7 on a laptop after hard drive crash?

I have a G60-235DX laptop where the hard drive is going bad.  It came with Windows Vista installed and then has been upgraded via the program from windows 7 to windows 7.  The hard drive is bad and now only works when it feels like it.  I have a replacement hard drive on the road and want to be able to reinstall windows 7 without having to pay anything.  Is it possible to do?  I don't like on the files on the computer, only the operating system.  Can I do something?  Thanks in advance!

Yes, the disc is a disc 'upgrade', but you should not need to upgrade to Vista. According to "SUPERSITE of Thurrott", you should be able to install multimedia upgrade without a previous installation and activate it. The key seems to penetrate the Windows product key, that the installation is completed, instead of first application. Please try this and let us know how it goes.

  • How to install Windows 7 upgrade on a blank hard drive

My previous installation of Windows 7 upgrade on my hard drive that had a Windows XP installed upgrading later had a HD failure. I bought a new HD and have not been able to perform a reinstallation of Windows 7 using either the previous update purchased DVD. How can I install my upgrade to Windows 7 on the new HD?

If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.

How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

  • Install Windows 7 upgrade on the new hard drive?

I have the Windows 7 upgrade version that I installed last September, but a few days ago my hard drive died.  How do we install the version 7 upgrade on the new hard drive without using a previous version of windows on it?

In order to install the Windows 7 upgrade version, you must have a system of eligible operating Windows installed and activated.  You cannot install a version upgrade of Windows 7 on a drive blank.  The installation procedure you do not insert a Windows disk in the drive for verification, eligible operating system must be installed.

If you do not have a qualification system of operating Windows installed with an activated genuine license, then you can not use the version upgrade of Windows 7 - you would need a license of Windows 7 "full version".

    In summary:

    1. a Windows operating system to eligible address must be installed.
    2. the Windows operating system to eligible address must have a genuine license (product key) and it must be enabled.
    3. to upgrade, boot on the eligible Windows desktop, insert the Windows 7 upgrade disc in the DVD player.
    4. when the menu appears, select custom (advanced option) to a clean install procedure.

You should be able to repair the installation, if your installation one fall. I suggest create you a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to spare you the trouble if your computer one fall in the future.

You can work around this two ways, I would suggest that you create a System Image (backup) of your installation of Windows 7 after installation of Windows 7 in order to save you the trouble if your computer loses the system failure or instability. Since you are in possession of a valid license of Windows Vista for this computer, you can use the following method to do a clean install with upgrade support:
