Re - install xp fails, the error code 1722

attempt to re - install windows xp on my lap top, did not drive, get error 1722

With what you do the installation? Your laptop probably has a factory restore image on it, kept on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and damaged disks when you installed the new operating system, contact the mftr computer technical support. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25.

If you are already using the process of factory restore and get an error, you probably have some hardware issues. Communicate with the computer laptop mftr. to see which means that your error message. If you use an installation CD different that came with the laptop, it probably won't work.

More details on what you are doing, will have a more precise answer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

«Error message when you try to install updates on the Microsoft Update or Windows Update Web site: "0 x 80073712" "»

Method 1: Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool

    1. Download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.

For more information about how to download and run the Checksur.exe tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

947821 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821/) Description of the update readiness tool for Windows Vista system
    2. Try to install updates again.

Note After running the tool, the Checksur.log file is stored in the following location:

    %SystemRoot%\Logs\CBS

In a default installation of Windows Vista, is the Windows directory.

If this method does not resolve the problem, go to method 2.

Method 2: Install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 if you have not yet installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1), visit the Microsoft Download Center and then download and install Service Pack 1. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Quit all programs, and then click on the following link:

      http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=f559842a-9c9b-4579-b64a-09146a0ba746&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=f559842a-9c9b-4579-b64a-09146a0ba746&DisplayLang=en)

Note Click the option to download on the download page, click Save, and then save the download to your desktop. When the download process is complete, click run to install the SP1.

    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Try to download the updates again.

If you can't always install updates, go to method 3.

Method 3: Perform a repair of Windows Vista installation when you perform a repair installation, which restores the current installation of Windows Vista to the version on the installation DVD. This requires you to reinstall all updates that do not appear in this version of Windows Vista.

To perform a repair of Windows Vista installation, follow these steps:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. Insert the Windows Vista DVD into the DVD drive of the computer.

Note If Windows does not automatically detect the DVD, click on Start, type: \setup.exe in the Search box, and then click configuration in the list programs. Then, click install now.

    3. Click connect to get the latest updates for installation (recommended).
    4. Insert the product key if you are prompted to do so.
    5. Click to accept the Microsoft software license agreement.
    6. On the screen which type of installation you want , click upgrade.
    7. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer, and then try again to install updates.

  • Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241) fails to install and has the error Code 800703F1

Greetings. My system Windows 8 found a major update, but it cannot install it. The update is called "Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241)." I try to install it and it installs and I see a screen that says:
    ________________________________
Some updates have not been installed.

    Failed: 1 update
    Examine the important updates

    Error (s) found:

Code 800703F1 Windows Update has encountered a problem. Get help with this error
    ________________________________

From there, I have the option to 'Try again', but when I try I always get the same result (error 800703F1). I already tried the Windows Update troubleshooting tool and whenever I run that he finds two problems and offers correct: "Repair Windows Update Database Corruption" and "repair the Windows Update components. I had it apply these patches every time, but the problem persists.

I read about this setting by using the function "sfc/scannow", but oddly, when I try even in an elevated command prompt he also fails. It scans absolutely nothing and says: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
The 'Windows Modules Installer"service is set to"Manual"and runs, as I read it is necessary.

What is really weird, is that in my list of installed updates, KB2822241 stands as one of the updates already installed with the name of "update for Microsoft Windows" (instead of "update for Windows 8"as one continues to try to install my PC), and when I run the independent for this update installer (I downloaded from the web site of Microsoft to try it) the installation program indicates the update is already installed, and it closes. This gave me the idea that maybe my PC is confusing one update for the other. After all, why he would find KB2822241 as an important update that it needs if it is already installed?

I know that I can normally solve the problem of update and the question of the SFC by resetting or refresh my PC via built-in tools of Windows 8, but I don't want to go through that, unless it's the only solution. System Restore didn't help, but it is an opportunity to reinstall some other updates.

As it is, then, the problems persist: "Update for Windows 8 (KB2822241)" settles "sfc/scannow" cannot perform the operation and not I ask.

For the record, my machine is a 900 Asus EeePC ha with an Intel Atom N270 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, and it is running 32-bit Windows 8.

I'd appreciate any help on this matter. Thank you in advance.
