Re: Satellite A200 - sound beep after startup

Hello world

Recently my laptop has started to be malfuntioning.
Yesterday, after the start (or when you take it out of fashion 'sleep'), it started beeping.

Beep, it's 10 minutes in a row, fast.

I run a stock standard Satellite A200 Windows Vista Help.
I don't know what to do, and over the ringtone (which lasts about 10-15 minutes) I can't do anything - the CPU (I think) simply cannot handle all of the processes. The ringtone comes from the right side of the laptop and is fake, but certainly a sign of a problem.

I believe it has something to do with the motherboard, but I don't know how to diagnose this problem, and after hours of research I have not found someone with a similar problem to mine.

I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum, also the advice to confused and I just can't find a support technique one.

Help, please

Hello

If I understand your problem, it seems that you are not able to enter the BIOS and you are not able to boot the operating system Window.
You don't see that the home screen Toshiba so is good?

Hmm, it seems that this sound signal is related to a hardware malfunction
Then maybe the POST (power on self-test) cannot be spent properly and so you get this alert beep

What to say; in most cases it mother s associated with, but it is difficult to say which could be exactly wrong

Maybe you can try this;
Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter for a few hours
Wait and after a while connect the two parts again
Then try again to turn the unit

If this does not work, then I would recommend asking a technician help in ASP.

After my laptop Satellite A200 update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 86 and
Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista, the speakers and the headphones stopped working.

    I'm confused.

    Can someone help pleeeeeeeease.

    Thank you

    Hello

I think you should just go to the Device Manager and should remove (uninstall) the audio driver.
Then go to the Toshiba European page, choose your model of laptop, download the audio driver and unzip the package.
    Reboot the laptop.

After the Win operating system has started, the new device (sound card) should be recognized and the operating system asks for the driver.
Now, you must point to the driver package that you have downloaded from the page and must be reinstalled the driver.

    Check it out!

    Hello John

I'm lucky that something like this does not happen on my A200 but I noticed this odd behavior on my old Satellite M70. From time to time, it beeps and I don't really know why. This looks like a signal of BIOS. Sometimes I hear this a few times in the day and then nothing for days.

I don't really know why this is happening, but I think I'll try to clean my laptop. Maybe it has something to do with the temperature of the material.

  • Satellite A200 - 1KO failure at startup

I have a Satellite A200 - 1 k (several years). Suddenly, from one day to the other, it refuses to power upward. There are 5 blue lights to low forehead, which shows power light, on early light shows on, lightweight battery, the next lightight showson flickers and then dies, and the last for the internet access, of course, does not illuminate. In addition, on the right side of the machine, there are a yellow/orange light port DVD projection on, when I press the Start button, but the port will not open, so I don't know if there is a disc inside.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.

    And what now?
I put t understand what kind of help do you expect now.

You don't see anything on the screen after turning on the laptop or not?
If you want to see if there are drive inside you can manually open optical drive. Normally, there is a small hole under the disc tray. You can insert a paper clip or something similar into this hole and manually open the drive tray.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAE0C-AH308C) - after the BIOS black screen update

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite (model No. A200; Part No. PSAE0C - AH308C) and to install Windows XP on a version already corrupted Vista (which had 4 partitions, that have been corrected, erased, then reformatted in a solid block). Now, I have installed all the appropriate drivers off Toshiba Canada support site...

Everything worked, but I wanted to see in Windows (since I just got this computer) if everything was in place and working normally until I installed Ubuntu... Then I did the update to the BIOS flash. The program is supported in two formats, one for Vista and one for XP... for XP has a more high at 5.20 and Vista BIOS version the 1.80 revision of BIOS... that are marked as being updated by the Toshiba site. I opted to download the latest version of the BIOS.

Things got ugly as soon as I unzipped the self-extracting program. First of all he said he could not find a .dll file (even if it is clear from there), so that seemed as if it started to Flash the BIOS but has not finished (it was just what happened when I opened the program)... I think he got to the ROM of compensation but did not have any code in there... Windows attempted to close the program because he did not respond, and I tried to take the program... had the same .dll error, but this time, the screen of the program was just gray...

Given that this program is not Flash the BIOS unless the user selects the button "Flash BIOS", I have reason to believe that it was a bug in the program, or a combination of it and Windows comes to interfere (no program were running at the time, while he was supposed to be a dedicated flash). I can only flash in the Win.

Now, I rebooted the computer, twice... the screen turns black, the HARD disc spins, the DVD drive has done his usual clicking sound when the computer starts, but it seems to stop as there is no BIOS entact.

Can I replace the BIOS chip? There is no way for me to access the BIOS at all.

Thanks for any help on this

    Hello

Unfortunately, the BIOS update has failed and now BIOS is damaged. For this reason, you cannot start and use your laptop. I agree with Luke. Please contact nearest Toshiba authorized maintainer and ask for help. Talk with them and I am sure that you will find the best solution to this problem.

Satellite A200 is quite long on the market and it is hard to believe that updating the BIOS on the Canadian page may have a bug. All updates are tested and used by millions of users and service providers. If there is something wrong, I do not believe that this update will be available on the page of public support.

In any case, contact the nearest service provider and explain the situation. Believe me this is the best thing you can do now.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A200 restarts continuously after Windows update

    Hey all,.

The model Satellite A200 - 1 GB (PSAE6E) worked perfectly for two years now (with Vista 32-bit).
Since running windows update yesterday and restart, the laptop summer stuck in a reboot loop, restart immediately after the 'POST' (the Toshiba logo, etc) screen with a flash of blue screen.
Holding F8 to read the message, it says INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE (0x000007B)...
Try to restore to a point before the blackout failed for an unknown reason (gave an error).
Search in Google gave a possible cause - maybe the hard disk driver was changed by an incompatible type. There were some suggestions to turn off the AHCI in the bios, but it doesn't have this option.
The bios was not updated since purchase (this is version 1.4), but I can't update because it seems that the only update provided by Toshiba requires windows.

Someone has any idea how to fix the computer without having to reinstall windows? No matter what?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ofir

    Hello

I doubt that it could be a hardware error (my personal opinion) but nothing is impossible, that you know
The fact is that a BSOD can be caused by hardware error, but also a serious software problem
In my opinion, something went wrong during the update

If you are not able to boot the operating system even by using a safe mode then a new install of the OS would be the last chance to get this sort problem

I think you should try a new installation to see if this could be a hardware problem because there is a small remnant of risk that this could be a hardware problem

  • 3 beeps after startup chime then nothing

    Hello

My iMac intel (2011) was working fine earlier today.  Then I came back to find it on the gray screen with the apple logo.  I tried to restart it, and it became stuck on the gray screen with three loud beeps, after initial startup Gong.

I tried resetting the PRAM, re-sitting my RAM (it's the RAM of origin).  It does not start in safe mode.

I used the built-in Apple hardware test and it has detected an error with the following message:

    4MOT/4/40000003: DRIVE HARD-1268

I ran the test again and got the same message error but with 1283 rather than 1268.  Is it a hard drive failure?

Any ideas how to proceed?  Thank you.

The error is specifically for the hard drive fan motor, but as the fan is controlled by a circuit in the HDD it is more than likely a failure of the hard drive. I saw most of the errors 4mot have had a faulty hard drive.

  • New Satellite A200 is restarted after installing XP

    Hi all

I hope someone can help with this problem.
I have a new Satellite A200 and made in the wake of the SP2 and matrix storage drivers.
I completely deleted all partitions on the disk and installed XP (slipstreamed version).
All going well until the first reboot and then it restarts just over and over again.
If I have safe mode of choice it loads correctly and I can't install drivers etc.
I wonder if it is a BIOS issue?
I tried to update using windows bios update for XP and it will not allow in safe mode.
The reboot happens before even starting XP screen appears, hard drive blinks twice, then it power cycles.
I hope that I'm not the first to encounter this problem.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Mhhh very strange to me, it looks like a software problem!
In Windows XP, the default setting is for the computer to automatically reboot when a fatal error occurs. If this fatal error only occurs when you stop, the system reboots automatically.

Have you noticed the same course the Vista OS?

What you could do is to install the Vista from the recovery CD again, and then update the BIOS to the XP version.
After this procedure install the XP with all the service packs and the compatible Intel matrix Storage Manager

    Good luck

  • Satellite A200: password appears at startup

    Hello

I bought a brand new series of Satellite A200 and wherever I turn on my laptop it is asking for password.

Can someone help me get this password.
How and from whare I can get that.

    Kind regards

HM, it seems that it is a related issue of BIOS. In this case, please go first to the drivers download site and download the most recent BIOS for your machine. If the password does not change even after you have completed the update of the BIOS then go to the store where you bought the machine and tell them that your computer has a BIOS password since you bought it.

He thinks they should handle your problem in your interest.

  • Satellite A200 - strange question after updating the graphics driver

The problem is with the driver Mobile Intel (r) 965 Express Chipset Family. System: Grand VISTA 32 bit Home Premium Service Pack 1. Laptop: Satellite A200.

I have installed the new driver of this (suggestion by Toshiba TEMPO) source:

    http://CE.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?id=65340&OSID=26&drive rLanguage = 42 & SOURCE = TEMPO & LNG = 20

After switching on the computer, the system is constantly asking me ("warning on securities"), whether to execute (open) 3 files: C:\Windows\System32\igfxtray.exe /... hkcmd.exe /... igfxpers.exe. Disabling the option "Always ask before opening the file" does not help. I have to choose the option "Open / cancel / close" to continue the implementation of the windows (an option to switch). Please don't forget that I translated above mentioned communications of poles.

Answer to the question, I received the support of Intel (r):

++ This is not really a problem with our drivers. This is related to the rights of the user/administrator and security functions defined by Windows * Vista. ++

    Yours faithfully,

    Maciej Kochan

When you install the drivers, you must right click on the EXE file and choose "Run as Administrator".

You should also temporarily disable your security software or reconfigure it to allow the file system.
Tools such as AdAware and Spybot spyware removal (or spyware in your Internet Security package tool) may block the file system.

  • Satellite A200 - unknown device after installing XP

    Hello.

    Satellite A200 PSAE6E.
Install Windows XP instead of Vista.

Everything well instead of a thing. Device Manager indicates PCI Memory controller is peripheral unknown and showed the symbol of the brand in question.

What could do? I think I installed all the drivers that were possible to download from Toshiba support.

    Any suggestions? Really appreciate it.

    Peace!

You will never find a driver for XP PCI memory controller.
This material is only supported by Vista and so you can ignore this yellow exclamation point.

Furthermore, cela I found on the Toshiba site:

    Hello

Why would it not normal? I presume that you very well now that Vista uses more resources than Windows XP Home edition and it is logical that energy consumption is also higher than on Windows XP Home edition.

To be honest the 2 hours is OK for this model of laptop. I have the Satellite A200-1CR and battery is also about 2 hours. Less than 2 hours, but sometimes it depends on notebook use.
