Re: Tecra M9 bios update without windows

I have a Tecra M9 runs only [Opensolaris 2009.06 | http://opensolaris.org/os/downloads/] on this subject.
Is it possible to do a Bios Update (acutally I have 1.50)

Is there an ISO image or back - tools so I can create my own ISO image...

Thank you
GerryH

Hello

I doubt you'd be able to update the BIOS on the Opensolaris OS.

The Toshiba page provides only focused on the victory of the BIOS, which means that you need to install windows to update the BIOS.

The traditional BIOS version allowing you to update the BIOS by using the USB disk is not available for download.

I think that only FSA (authorized service providers) availability to perform a BIOS update using the diskette.

The bios is not dependent on OS. I think that the flash program used to update the bios work correctly under windows 8.1. Before you do the update try to make a backup of your current bios so that you can always come back if you wish. See the image below on how to do the backup and update the bios.

  • Problem of Tecra M5 BIOS update

I downloaded the file from the Toshiba site and now have P003Fv370.exe. Race that happens just with "update of the BIOS is not supported OS, unsupported operating system or service pack is installed". I was under the impression that it was independent BONES? Please help, I need to update to stop it crashing and blue screening me every half hour. I have already installed the value-added package.

Just tried again and it says "Could not create"C:\TOSHBIOS. " UPD file! "I don't know what is happening more.

    Hello

    The P003Fv370.exe is a package.
Right click on that package and select unpack here.
Now you should see the other folders inside this .exe package.

From my knowledge, it takes a file that starts the BIOS update.

If it won't work, I guess you need the original preinstalled system Toshiba update BIOS.
The other hand I n t think that BSOD appears due to the old version of the BIOS.
I guess that the update does not solve the problem.

Maybe the BSOD appears due to a problem of critical software or hardware issues so would be really interesting to know if the same thing happens with the help of preinstalled Toshiba system

  • Tecra M4 - BIOS update fails

I'm updating my M4 with the Toshiba BIOS provided for support of Windows Vista. It can be found here: http://www.csdsupport.toshiba.com/tais/csd/support/windows_vista/vista_beta.cgi?lsAction=list_files&model_id=1

However, the update process fails. I can unzip the file downloaded to a file, but then fails it to process with a generic-looking message "install2 has encountered a problem and needs to close."

My M4 is currently leading the BIOS version 1.70, 14/02/2006.

Any ideas? Maybe is there a way I can do an update of the traditional BIOS with the new file?

Be careful with the BIOS updates. I put t know where you bought your Tecra but you try to install the update BIOS, designed for the laptop models in the United States.

If you have European mobile phone use just updates BIOS you will find under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

I want to update the bios of my Tecra 8100.
I downloaded the bios, but the pc has no floppy, I cooked up a cd bootable like this

When I start the pc, F2, press c to boot from the CD-ROM, I get in a dos environment. I went to the drive Z, "dir" and see the bios.exe that I've burned to cd. To run it I type bios.exe and continue to be 'command unrecognized file name' when I type dir *.exe, he does not see the file either.

    Hello

Your described method does not apply to Toshiba laptops.
Each computer laptop manufacturers supports various BIOS update procedures

    Toshiba on this page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/downloadDetail.jsp?soID=356848&PF=true
Here you can download the latest version of the BIOS for Tecra 8100

The 4810.25 package must be unpacked everything first.
Then you should check the files available.
There is a readme.txt file that describes how to update BIOS using the ISO to CD.

If I choose "OS Independent" it tells me ' Bios is NOT compatible for portable computers with Windows Vista! Exclamation points are Toshiba, not me ;)

So I am stuffed and I need to stay with my current BIOS, or can, I use Windows Vista BIOS update?

Thanks to anyone who can help!

    Hello

First question; Why do you update the BIOS?
Do you want to update only to have a newer version?
If your Windows 7 is working well, then a BIOS update is not necessary.

Otherwise, install Vista OS to Toshiba Recovery (if available) disk, the BIOS update and then change to Win 7 ;)

    Hello eddie

There are not a lot to say. If your device has sticker Vista capable Toshiba will support them to upgrade to Vista. When not I Don t believe you will find Vista BIOS update in the future.

Also, my Satellite M70 is not Vista capable, but I'm really lucky and have preinstalled Vista on the second partition.

  • Tecra 8000 BIOS update

Help... my first visit on this forum looking for a kindly soul to out me of trouble. My wife has a Tecra 8000 (European version) with P2 400 mhz. To start, she "prepares for the BIOS update". I managed to find what seems to me to be good download on this site, the 'traditional' version for computers that do not run on 500 mhz or higher? Only problem is that I know this must be installed through FDD we have with the laptop, but we have no way to open the file on disk. Neither our computers from home or at work have a floppy drive to open and copy the downloaded file. We were wondering if anyone has a copy, or access to a floppy drive to produce a copy and send it to us? We would be more than happy incurred to help us.

  • Tecra M11 - BIOS update error

Hi, initially, I'm sorry for my bad English, I'm from the Germany...
My Tecra M11 motherboard has been replaced by Toshiba. After that, I can't update the BIOS
I fill the SN of my M11 and downloadet the latest Version of the Toshiba homepage.

But when I install the Package from the BIOS, there always was the same Message: "this computer is not supported.
Is the person who can help me :)

    Lars cordially

    Hey,.

What operating system you use and that you have installed the package of added value? Latter is necessary if you want to make a BIOS update.

But theoretically the DMI information could miss after replacing the motherboard. It must be written from an authorized service provider

But why you want to update the BIOS? You have problems?

  • Pavilion Media Center M8400f Bios Update for Windows 7

HP Pavilion Media Center m8400f. The Vista operating system has been replaced by Windows 7 (64 bit) a number of years.

I've updated one of my hard drives with a SanDisk SSD (it is now my main drive with the operating system and all my files on board).

The bios on the PC has never been updated.

The SanDisk SSD dashboard software will not recognize the SanDisk SSD as the system has designated the SSD as a SCSI device. I need to access the bios for this change to AHCI. The current bios does not support this.

The PC has a card mother MCP61PM-HM. There is no update for Windows 7 BIOS for that motherboard I know (updates Vista only).

SanDisk gave me a link to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-82094-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... that shows a card mother M2P61PM-HM for m8400f desktop PC. This Bios download supports Windows 7 (64 bit).

Can update the Bios to download safely a card mother M2P61PM-HM for card mother MCP61PM-HM I currently have?

    Hello

The HP BIOS update link provided SanDisk is an update of the BIOS of your PC. It is listed under Win Vista 64 bit driver downloads here.

If you look at the site to download the drivers for your PC you'll only see driver support for Win Vista but on 2010-04-08, Version 5.29, 1.47 M BIOS updatedshows support for Win 7.

But the problem is this: the BIOS updates must be performed using the PC operating system comes with; in your case, Win Vista. Extreme care must be exercised when updating the BIOS under normal circumstances. I would not classify your situation as usual.

I saw others download an update of the BIOS for their PC and try to install an operating system upgraded with disastrous effects. The PC was bricked.

Be prepared for the worst case if you try to install the update to the BIOS.

  • Can't update without Windows of self-destruction!

After the update a few weeks ago... Bad software removal tool... My father PC had white exclamation points all on that screen P.O.S.T.... then the screen would go and NOTHING...! Restart, and then go to the Startup Repair tool... Windows Startup Repair tool cannot fix... you want to restore?... long story short... so the only thing that worked was a REINSTALL FACTORY...

NOW... I can't update anything... Update Windows and not even a no driver for the graphics card! If I... I will return to white exclamation on fullscreen P.O.S.T.... then NOTHING... points! I've restored the system several times and tried to update, only to have this accident to happen once I update... There's something like 83 updates and it's too much to try to step up to the problem... Heck I think is not yet get it until the first service pack!

On top of OFF... Microsoft tool for support does not even recognize its product ID... even when I enter it manually... all YES, I'm in the correct information!

As you can imagine, it's really a bad situation and bad support (no I don't want to pay Microsoft an another $50) it made it worse. After buying Windows since Win95, Xbox, 4 Xbox 360 (thanks to free material you knew was broken) and a Zune... I really think to change and do not return!

Someone at - he lived it and managed to isolate the problem... I have the exact system he has, even screen, same graphics card, etc... and I am able to update without ANY problem!

Thanks in advance! And sorry if I'm angry... I worked on it for about the last three weeks!

  • HP Pavilion A6750Y Bios Update for Windows 7?

Hello, I bought a HP Pavilion A6750Y years that I have been very satisfied.  I have of course updated from Vista to Windows 7, added a video card and I'd really like to upgrade my cpu.  So far, in the Support & drivers for my computer, it lists still my motherboard as being able to run up to a processor AMD Phenom 9950 x 4. I noticed however if I list my OS as Vista 64-bit, then it does in fact appear a BIOS update that would allow the MOBO to exploit some AM3 cpu. It would still work for my computer running Windows 7, or y at - it an update of the BIOS in preparation for Windows 7, otherwise I would really like to make the request. I want to spend my processor to a Phenom 2 x 4 and need my MOBO to support AM3 processors. Thank you in advance.

    Hello:

I wouldn't update the BIOS by using Windows 7. There is more than 95% of probability you will make the PC unusable.

HP will release no updates to the BIOS of windows 7 for your PC.

If you want to update the BIOS, your only alternative is to install Vista, updated the BIOS and then reinstall W7.

I have improved my Tecra S5 BIOS to version 2.0. But when I enter the BIOS, I can only change properties on the first page PGUP PGDN keys, for change of page does not work for me. Everyone knows the same behavior?
