Re: Temperature Normal CPU but the fan is noisy

Hello

My average CPU time are 45 on idle and 75 when you play. So, what causes the fan being a little louder than usual, although having normal time? It's not that loud and I could live with it, but I'm afraid it's something wrong with the fan.

Also, I checked PC Health Monitor and the fan speed is at 50% is STILL on idle. It is 50% from the first day, but the noise is more noticeable now.

PD: Laptop is 1 month old.

I put t think that there is a problem with the cooling fan. It is controlled automatically. What you can try is to modify the parameters of the method of cooling.
You can find it in the advanced power options > power Toshiba settings. Assign the optimised battery.
This should reduce the activity of fan cooling.

Please test and post comments.

Imen quite so much as the title, when I try to put my computer to sleep the screen turns off but the computer is still running. My computer is a HP pavilion dv6 is a little more than 3 years. I'll close the top cover, but the fan still works, the hp on the lid logo light remains lit, and if I reopen it cover the power light is always on and the lights on the keyboard caps lock and wireless keys. The same actions occur when I try to put it to sleep manually (from the start menu). It does not at all I have to do another that now hold power, but even when I do nothing, it will stay here like this for awhile and then just turn off completely.

When it starts up, it gives me the options to start in safe mode or start normally, and when I am connected and it gives me the "windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown", I see that there is a minidump file in windows that has something to do with it. I read what made other people, changing advanced power settings, changing the media settings, etc. and did those things, but to no avail. It's not a huge deal, because I can just turn off my computer whenever I'm done with it for now, but I don't know if it's a bad omen for the future of my poor computer. • Satellite A300-Y00 black screen but the fan from

I bought a TOSHIBA satellite A300/Y00 in June 2008 – 16 months. Model number PSAGOA-02Y. After ten months he did not start suddenly. It sounds like the processor and the fan starts but the screen and the led underneath the screen was all black. I tried to connect it to an external monitor, but the screen was too black. I gave her to Toshiba for 2 weeks (!) who said it was the motherboard. They replaced for free that it was still under warranty.

A few weeks ago the same thing happened again. I turned off it and for some reason at random, he started as usual a few hours later. I called Toshiba to say that, in my view, that computer will crash soon again. They said that they will be able to take it in for service, but if they could not find anything wrong with it that they would charge me $ x. I don't give him service. I even went to a local Toshiba support guy who said that he couldn't find anything wrong with my computer and that there nothing that could do.

Now the same thing is happening again. This time I can't do it again. Of course their fantastic 3 months for the last motherboard warranty has expired. I tried to take out the battery and start it only to the power, but it does not help.

I don't want to pay $500 for a new motherboard, and then drop it again. It is obvious that it is a hardware problem and I think that Toshiba should replace my computer free of charge.

Anyone with similar problems? Any advice? Get pretty annoyed...

The repair goes very fast and the technicians are very friendly and knowledgeable. It of always nice to talk a bit with them.

  • HP Envy 15 "touch screen power LED appears, but the fans does not and the screen does not light

    Hello!

I'm a student in computer engineering at the University of Waterloo 1A, and I run a very serious problem with my HP Envy 15 "TouchSmart laptop computer running Windows 8.1. It is a problem that just started today, and I'd rather have a first support here before going to see the technical support Office sometimes tomorrow. It has to do with the screen and the fans where the Power LED lights in white, just as when the laptop works properly.

(I have warranty on the laptop when it was purchased last June, except that if I find that I need to get a replacement, I'll lose all my work, I did on that since I started my semester.) It's so silly of me not to have all my work saved on a backup, because I have an external hard drive. Problem is, I've had too many problems in getting myself organized, I'm not being open-minded as I should, and worse, I'm not a balance between life and work at home.)

Before I had my MATH 117 conference (Calculus 1 Engineering), I was in a nearby lab where my laptop was open and turned, works correctly. I've had NetBeans IDE running since I wanted to work on the second part of my current assignment of CS 137 (principles of programming). Because it was almost time for my presentation, I closed the laptop by simply moving the screen down on the keyboard, where it goes into mode 'sleep'. (Whenever I flip to the top of the screen, the laptop is supposed to return, and the sliding screen of Windows 8.1 connection will appear.)

When I took my seat for reading, I wanted to spend a little time to work on my programming assignment. However, after the reversal of the screen to the top, instead of having the login screen appears, I encountered the problem: the power supply light is showing a white light, but I don't hear the fans between the ventilation openings on the left side of the laptop and the screen does not light. I tried to take the power for several seconds and once button at least 10 seconds, except that the power light continues to display on a white light. The Commission of the Wi - Fi light is not displayed.

Whatever it is, I don't want to take out the battery because I have that on my last laptop, and it's from there that I couldn't turn to the former, a new market. If I leave the Envy laptop battery, it will short-circuit the connections between the battery and the computer, and so several components will FRY. For now, what I do let the laptop is to empty the load on the battery. Then, once I noticed that the power light does not project a white light, or plug in the AC adapter and try turning the laptop on the power button.

It will take a little while for the circuit drain the load on my battery but...

Anyway, please would you be kind enough to help me with this problem? I would really appreciate if you can give me several recommendations. Thank you!

  • G7-2017us Pavilion: laptop computer is hot and the fan is noisy

I have windows 7. 64 bit. I noticed that the laptop gets very hot and the fan makes noise. Try to solve this problem I went the HPSA. It shows that I have no update necessary; However when I go to the HP site and I ask him to identify my system it shows a lot of updates pending. This is why I need help with 2 questions, one the heat generated and the second on the updates. I also checked, and it shows that I have the latest version of the Support Assistant. The updates are all from 2016 and 2 refer to the BIOS.

I'm not well informed on the issues, any help will be appreciated

The update of the BIOS F.26 is important because of security concerns. The change log States:

'Provides security improved for UEFI EDK2

HP strongly recommends transition immediately to this BIOS update. »

It will not hurt to delete the sp66805 folder. I suggested it because it confuses you with the process of downloading/installation asking you to replace it.

You could try to change of name, it will probably work.

  • 6200 pro sff: hp compaq 6200 pro sff was not able to start, but the fan will operate at excessive speed

PC shuts off during the night. Haven't turned on this morning, white screen, no boot fan, cpu and power begins to operate at high speed after about 60 seconds. No beeps or flashing power light. Substituted know good power supply, same result. Removed RAM, no beeps from the bios of this.

    Hello

    Try to start without CPU.

If the problem persists, no beeps, you will need to replace the system board.

If it beeps (3) without CPU, you will need to replace the motherboard and test the CPU on another unit.

Computer science is not an exact science , the most obvious is that it's only the system board but if you test the CPU you will be 100% safe.

I have to resize the icons, just the image in them... Thank you!!!

You can have the Web site icon, but it will be not bigger: it is stuck at 16 by 16 pixels.  This is how the icons on Web pages are programmed.  It's not for lack of Microsoft: it's just the reality of the world.  If you forced the site of MSN icon to be large enough to match the size of the "large" view desktop icons, that's what it would look like:

Of course they don't want people to complain about the ugly tense icon, and since Microsoft cannot replace the icon for each Web page in the world, they simply leave it at the default size so it looks nice.
Given their big stretch would become extremely blurred, Windows leaves these icons low resolution to their normal size, centered insizing a box.
    >> If you only want it to be as big as XP, you can always do: just to right click on the desktop, select display, then Classic icons... Classic is the size THAT used XP.  Stretched above example is what it would be if you choose Medium or Large inside Windows Vista or 7, which is bigger than anything XP could ever show.

  • help - vm to 100% with Betclic resources cpu, but the ESX host to 15% cpu

    Hi all

5 * HP BL460c Blade each with two Quad Core Xeon E5450 and and 8 GB of RAM.

    ESX 3.5

    VirtualCenter 2.5.0

    DRM and active HA.

I need assistance with resource pools. Currently I have them all together for:

    • expandable

    • unlimited

for the CPU and memory. I tried without reserve and with reservations, and it is indifferent to the result.

I'm running a server SQL2008 (2 * vCPU, 3.5 GB of RAM) which is pretty hard. and from time to time the cpu usage spikes to 100% (6 GHz) and saturate at this time here. When I go to the graphs of the ESX host, I see up to 3 physical processes responsible... and all the others are dormant...

I'm working on why he no longer not affected resources of the ESX host. I thought that because of the resource sharing (unlimited), he could catch resource from the pool of resources of the parent (unlimited). And our Installer is very very little used - so much processing power/mem available spare parts.

I have also some really stupid questions:

    • with SMP, 1 vCPU means only 1 pCPU host is used?
I never thought that this true, but in this example, it seems that only 2 pCPUs on the host are used... maybe 3,.., it is difficult to tell from the graph

    • a virtual machine can use more resources from a host at the same time?

I never thought that this true, but in this example, it seems that only 2 pCPUs on the host are used... maybe 3,.., it is difficult to tell from the graph

Yes, assign you a resource equivalent to a virtual machine to the host.  Therefore, if you assign 1 vCPU which is equivalent to a unique Jepp on the host computer in the slot.

a virtual machine can use more resources from a host at the same time?

No. a resource pool is on a cluster, but VM inside this POOL can only use a single host resources.  The case is from ESX can use DRS to load balancing force of the VM, the pool determines the overall consumption and that you assign VM accordingly.  But ESX is not yet there to physical resource take other hosts.  What ever host is on, it is that the only place these resources can be achieved.

What process the SQL 2008 taking up the CPU process?  I think it's SQL Server, in which case it is not that you can do.  One of the reasons that I discourage using VM for SQL, SQL works not virtualized.

How can I find my model number or product number?

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

Here is a link to an overheating and Auto Shutdown problem troubleshooting.

Have you checked for an update of the bios of your laptop. You have provided the series of laptop you have, but not the exact model, so I'm not able to check it for you.

    Hello

If the operating temperature of the machine goes upward, so that the cooling fan turns on.
Many parts for example produce a lot of heat from the graphics card.
In addition the CPU temperature increases if many processes are running in the context of the operating system or if you are working with programs (i.e. playing games).
If you have a laptop computer with a processor that is hot much faster one and then another, it must be cooled more often.
You can believe me :) It's not a fault!

If you wish, you can try changing the cooling method parameter in Toshiba power saver utility.

  • Noice from the fan on the Satellite A100-994

    Hello
I recently bought an A100-994, which has a Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.GHz) processor. I noticed that the fan is always on at low speed at least that I put it out at very low outdoor temperatures when it stops. But normally inside it is still running.

I compared with other new A100 models with lower processor (specifically with a Core Duo 1.66 GHz) and is not the case, and those who are quieter than mine. I asked the tech support and they told me that in some models of the family A100 fan runs continuously and a reason to do in mine should be that my processor is more powerful and so hot more easily.

I would like to know if anyone else has noticed this kind of behavior in A100 laptop computers and if there is a way to control the speed of the fan so that it does not work in idle mode. Already tried speedfan and other programs, but they don't control fand speeds, only to read temperatures.

    Thank you

    Hi guys

I put t see any problems. It of a normal behavior that the fan runs at a lower speed.
If the temperature increases, the fan will run a lot faster.

Check if the energy saver has been installed on the laptop you. There, you can control the speed of the CPU and cooling mode in the basic menu.

  • How much does it cost to clean the fan for T410s?

Out of warranty, the fan is noisy and CPU overheating when heavy loads.

It's too much work to change it by myself. Just wonder how much will it cost?

    Thanks in advance.

There is no fixed cost. The T410s fan is under the motherboard so it requires a complete teardown. (T410s is one of the most time to disassemble) You need to include at least 1 1/2 hours of work. The cost of the fan will depend on whether you have integrated or discrete graphics. Some guys may be able to disassemble the fan and clean and lubricate the bearing, but described the manual replace, not repair. A dealer will not fix the fan

  • Firefox prompts to save passwords of websites. The key to the Password Manager icon appears on the left side of the address bar, but the corresponding window asking if I want to save the password or not, does not appear. I tried all the possible solutions

I installed the latest version of Firefox on my laptop (Windows 7 Professional 64-bit). The thing is that firefox prompt to save passwords of websites. I'll explain you a little more away with an example: suppose I load www.gmail.com. When I login, the password manager key is displayed on the left side of the address bar, but the corresponding window which would ask if I want to save the password or not, does not appear. I tried all the possible solutions. It is true that when I restart firefox with disabled modules (safe mode), password manager works fine. But I don't really use Add-ons that could prevent firefox to save passwords. I disabled all add-ons and ran firefox in normal mode, but the password manager does not work yet. Please keep in mind that I tried everything and that any post not published so far describes a similar problem to mine case. Consider that I have the same I have configured the entire system from the beginning. The problem appeared again from the first time I launched firefox. At that time, I had not installed any antivirus software and there is no add-on with firefox. Hope someone can give me a valid solution...

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

It is possible that there is a problem with key3db and signons.sqlite files that store the encrypted names and passwords in Firefox.

Rename signons3.txt and signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.

You can add .old files (key3.db.old and signons.sqlite.old) names or move them to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.

You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost.

If that worked, then you can delete the renamed files that are no longer needed.
