  I have the HP TouchSmart 610-1030y and when I press the buttons volume control on keyboard, instead of the graphic showing the volume control on the screen, all I get is a blank white box.   enter in the display property, do a right-click on the desktop, then go monitors-> setting advanced-> screen-> select on display. This should work for Vista and XP.

• M7 k111dx: supposed weird graphics bug after update to windows 10

  I upgraded to Win10 on day 1 and thought that everything was ok. Then I closed my computer and made after the drive hard light off, the power lights could not do the same thing. I had to make a "force stop" making them to extinguish. Windows don't think I did a force stop. I'm not sure what is the cause, but I would be really nice to fix.   Try to revisit these steps, by community member @DanG82, to see if the problem can be solved.  Please post back with the results:

  HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF SLEEP/SHUTDOWN

  1. Download version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.
  • Navigate to HP Software and Driver Downloads site (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html) to find the last pilot approved for your model.  Filtrer filter by version, select Microsoft Windows 8.1 on the menu drop-down.  Find the download in the category 'Driver-Chipset'  If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is listed, download.  [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66001-66500/sp66228.exe) works for most models.]
  • If a pilot of MEI with a version from 9 or 10 number is NOT listed, download the driver appropriate directly from Intel (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=intel+management+engine).  [9.5.24.1790 version 1.5 M (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23091/Intel-ME-9-Management-Engine-Driver-for-Intel-NUC) works for most models.]
  2. Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
  3. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
  • In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
  • Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
  • Click on stop to stop the service to run.
  • Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
  4. Install version 9 or 10 of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  If you receive a warning dialog box about the replacement of a newer version of the software, accept it.
  • NOTE: You have NO need to uninstall version 11 before installing version 9 or 10.  The presence of a version of the driver is required to 'upgrade' (or demote in this case).
  5. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates of the Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver.  (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for version 11 of the pilot).
  6. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Rejoice!  You can finally sleep and stop again.

  I think that many people would be able to help you but without details of your laptop, it of very difficult to tell which driver might help you

  However, the Toshiba driver page should provide all the necessary drivers and utilities.
  If you want to use all the features of the laptop, you must install all the drivers available.

  Problem: I was on the purchase of 2016 Office for Mac and tried to install the update of El Capitan OS X 10.11.1 which is necessary to solve the problems with this version of Microsoft Office.  During installation, the following error message appears:

  "OS X El Capitan update cannot be installed on this drive. This volume does not meet the conditions required for this update".

  You are using a newer version of El Capitan that the updater contains and so cannot install it.

  I recently formatted my laptop, and then I installed windows 7 Professional (64 bit). After that, I installed the drivers for the quick launch of the multimedia keys. Now all the buttons work well. However when I press the volume buttons (cursor) I don't see the Nice volume on my screen bar more. This is important because I don't know how loud a sound is going to be before I actually hear this sound. Is there any additional software that I need to install in order to have this volume again bar indicator?

  According to the request, we understand that you are facing problem with the volume status bar on your ThinkPad W520.

  Confirm if the keys are locked, or that the application is stuck.

  If she only the application please uninstall graphic driver, application function hotkey & Power Manager and reboot the system, after restarting the system run utility of ThinkVantage System update it will update all the necessary drivers for your system.
