Read-only resets, Highlighted and unaudited

Vista...

If I have a folder (or file) that is designated read-only, can I deselect it, apply, get out, pull up the properties close and it will be underlined again by itself.

All my folders are defined in read-only on my desktop and I can't do everything to zero. They all come back to read only by themselves. Also, maybe the difference between files and folders, but my file Number boxes are put in evidence and files boxes RO are archived

You need a control total and perhaps owner changes.  Are they really read-only when opened (or you are actually able to change or revise their despite the highlight or the box)?  This applies only to folders and desktop files or other files and folders as well (like those in your Documents folder)?  In Vista, a LOT of files and folders are marked read only intentionally by the program (unlike XP) for prevent editing system and other files/folders that should not be changed (at least not unless carried out by experts or management to experts).  This is usually not does not apply to office supplies (except maybe the settings.ini which you should leave alone).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Once you have the full control permissions and full ownership (and have replaced the permissions inherited from the folder parent in the Advanced Properties section) then you should be able to make the changes you want.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • Keep records for read-only reset

I uploaded a few photos from my iPhone using the cloud and kept that find whatever program I opened in, the computer would not save changes as it said that the file or folder is read-only.  I checked the file by clicking on properties and ensure that the read-only box has been disabled.  Then, I checked the file do the same thing and found that the folder itself has been set to ReadOnly.  I then unchecked that hit 'apply' and then returned to the folder for editing photos, but it's the same thing.  Then, I went to the propeorties folder and found he had turned to read-only.  I thought that reading only may be applied to a higher level, namely my pictures or My Documents, which he was, if I disabled and it is simply coming back again!  I was wondering if there was a way to fix this or if there is a higher level than I can uncheck the read only options for if that's what is behind each photo be read-only.

No. I thought maybe iCloud still had the file to open.

You can check the permissions to make sure that you have write access to the files.

  • InDesign CS6 link opens read-only - cannot edit and save

I have an an ID document nested in another document and every time I try to change the parent document alone open read-only. Also, if I try to save it I get:

"Unable to save the document. It can be opened by other applications. Close other applications and try again. Alternatively, you can use Save as to save it in a new document. »

If I try and open the nested file separately after this he also open in read-only and returns the same error when I try to save. Even when I close all other documents CS6 first. I need to quit Indesign and restart in order to open the file and save normally.

It seems to be locked by ID, but the properties of the file in Explorer show unalterable as disabled. But he is stuck in the system too because I can't open it from Explorer.

I tried to export the indd files parent and child to idml and then saved as new files indd and relinked them but they always make the same behavior in ID.

It's very frustrating because I can't change the original of ID, and if I accidentally do, ID breaks the file (being locked, unalterable and unrecoverable) so I need to record in as long as something different, leave ID, rename it and start over.

How can I convert an incoming call reads only attachment so that I can change it? Save in Word does not it, and find research peut t.

So, the problem seems to be that attachments are stored as files read-only by Thunderbird and an application it can open without editing privileges, so you cannot change the. Read-only mode was chosen because these files are kept in a temporary location. For example, if you modify and save the back, they are deleted when Thunderbird is closed, so losing your changes. The idea is to force to save you to a different location. You should be able to do it, then open it from that location with full editing capabilities.

For a permanent change in this behavior, go in the [tools >] Options > advanced > general tab and click on Config Editor there. After you confirm the warning, copy - paste browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit into the search bar and switch false to true by double clicking on it. Now, saved attachments are created with read/write permissions, but is more removed when Thunderbird is closed (i.e., stored in % AppData%\Local\Temp).

  • Read-only text box.

I'm on the APEX 4.1.1.00.23. I'm doing a read-only text box. It works but the to-go box and put it on a single line. It doesn't look very good. I changed the screen for the item to display only and it does the same thing. Are there

in any case, we can change the read-only text box and not take the box or formatting?

Make read-only conditionally temporarily or permanently?

In the first case, use a textarea element with the readonly attribute of the element instead of the built-in read-only properties. Set the HTML attributes of the element form item to the text box to:

    readonly="readonly"

If it must be made conditional or temporary, explain the requirement in detail.

  • Conditional read only the rows in a table

We have a requirement only under a certain condition (which may change each line), a line can be read only or editable and are uncertain how to implement this with APEX

for example, lets say a table has the following features

    columns: ID, Date, editable

    1, September 12, 2015, Y

    2, September 15, 2015, Y

    3, 18 September 2015, N

    4, 19 September 2015, N

    5, 22 September 2015, Y

Thus, when this data displays on a page in a tabular presentation, the date ONLY are editable for lines 1, 2 and 5. For lines 3 and 4, the date cannot be changed

In the ADF, we get this by setting the attribute readonly on the date component to "row.bindings.Editable.inputValue =='N" ""-this would be evaluated by line and switch read only one or off for each date listed in the table.

Help, pointers would be greatly appreciated!

    See you soon,.

    Brent

Here is a link to a starting point: dynamic Action on a tabular presentation. Jeff Kemp on Oracle it shows how to condition the unalterable columns.  The same logic would apply only to a line level...

  • Read only view object replaces all of my attributes transitional when I change it

We have a read only view object that is a large query that calls a stored procedure.   If I change the query and simply add a space character and save it, all the attributes change to be transitional and it completely breaks the view object.   The query uses an alias for each of the selected values, and I was able to replicate this with the simple query stand alone below.

    SELECT "Value1" as requestId,

    'value2' as accountId,

    "value3" as "Mr_Barcode1."

    "value4" as "dr_date."

    "Value5" as "dr_user_first_name".

    Of the DOUBLE

Create a read-only display object and paste the query above in the sql pane and keep.   It creates correctly calculated for the 5 columns returned attributes.    Then enter and modify the query and change anything (add a space) and save.   The last 3 attributes get changed to transients and the expression gets deleted in each attribute

It's about Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.   I thought I would post here first of all before you try open a bug with Oracle.

I discovered that the problem is related to what the quotes around the alias.  The person who created this originally borrowed display object from another application and the alias sql was points/periods in the names and the only way that works if you put quotes around it as below.   That works well in SQL Developer, but I get the obvious mentioned the problem when using this query in jdeveloper.   If I remove the points and the quotes in the alias I don't encounter this problem.

    SELECT "Value1" as request_Id,

    'value2' as argument account_Id,

    "value3" as "d.barcode_Id."

    "value4" as "d.date1."

    "Value5" as "d.first_Name".

    Of the DOUBLE

Gets the XML in view objects defined like this (apostrophes around the double quotes).  It works the first time you save but when you edit the expression is removed, it gets changed to a transitional.

    AliasName = ' "dr_date."

    Expression = ""dr_date"

I still think it's a bug, but now I can work around it.

  • Perform actions on read only text fields

I work on an inventory for a renovation of the building to come and hope to make an "interactive stop' of sorts on the PDF of the floorplan showing the hardware inventory for the rooms.

My goal is that each room on the floor plan to have an invisible field that covers (I am currently using text fields), so that when the user's mouse is in this room on the floor plan, a 'Mouse enter' action is executed to display a second text box VISIBLE read-only containing notes and inventory relevant in this specific room. Conversely, when the user's mouse leaves this place on the floor plan, a 'Mouse exit' action is executed to hide this second text box.

I have this feature works for the most part, with the exception that the text fields that I use to describe the rooms are still visible in an opaque blue tint when the PDF file is displayed. I would have preferred them to be completely invisible and cannot be changed by users.

If I change the property of form field to 'Hidden', or tick the box 'Read only' property, entry and exit mouse mouse actions will not run.

Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to achieve this?

    Thanks in advance!

Instead of a text field, use a button for mouse input/output actions. They can be parameters to have no visible border or background, so will be invisible.
