  I have a problem. I wonder if anyone can help please.
  I tried to view a DVD-R on my pc using my dvd player which is a Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-M1612, but it keeps giving me the same error message:

  Sometimes when I insert a cd or a DVD-Rom dvd starts to spin but dusn, t find the cd or the dvd.

  Then I open the DVD-rom and close it, then the DVD-rom works very well.

  I have a Toshiba DVD - ROM SD-R6112 with firmware 1515

  It is not a big problem, but if it can be solved, that would be great!

Drive TS-H653 410125-501.    Search for cases iside the PC, I find there's black wire to one (1) and a 1 connector with 2 black, a yellow, a red son.   No one knows it is all the cable/connector that is required for the DVD + RW / CD + RW drive market?

  I read where it is a connector cable BLUE on these units.  If so, where I buy this cable?

  Yes, you just put the existing cables from the old dvd drive to the new.  Nothing else is necessary.

  You can consider a used but tested and working one on eBay. Saves a lot of $$$ than buying again at HP.

  There is no special driver for the optical drive of your computer laptop just the drivers Microsoft standard supplied with the XP operating system.

  Make sure you have the "Enable CD writing on this drive" box checked for your optical drive. You can check this by selecting my computer then right click on the optical drive, select properties and then click the recording tab.

  Finally after all the hassle of Commander today 18 April 07 I finally received my upgrade.
  The pack has two drives, one is the windows vista, the other is a toshiba dvd rom upgrade step-by-step, pack also has a mode of employment in seven languages,

  I don't think that it is a parameter to change. The reader must support the format.

  It's not very often if the machine is not very very new. If you get this problem with the player integrated to your Sat1400-503, and it is not replaced by someone not supported, so I'm very sure that it does not support the DVD + R format.

  I have recently had problems with my DVD ROM read drive media correctly, when I put in a computer game (lets say Star Craft 2 as an example at random) Autorun makes me up some options and says it's an image and request either 1.) Open the files and view them, or 2.) See all photos in Windows and some other similar options.
  It will not recognize the game as a game and will not bring up the menu to install the game or whatever it is, sorta solve this problem I put the automatic run settings so that it opens files in the photo (since it is the software game image processing) and once he opens the folder I click on the installation program manually.
  I checked my driver to ensure that it is up-to-date.
  For any help or suggestion will be welcome.

• Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t: problem with the new HP DH16D5S DVD ROM drive

  My office is a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-170 t.  I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.  I have two HP optical dirives, one is a writer, and the other is just a DVD ROM  Both have always worked perfectly with Windows 7.  After you have installed Windows 10 continuous burner work very well works correctly with autoplay.  However, the DVD - ROM, HP DH16D5S, immediately began using autoplay.  Actually the drive was not yet recognized as a drive when you view the drives in the file Explorer.  Finally, it would seem, sometimes taking also longer than 5 minutes or more before doing so and then would work very well.  I tried different types of media, including music CD, DVD video and DVD software with the same results.  I assumed that it was a problem with the drive, maybe a bad capacitor, etc., which was originally not start correctly.  So I ordered a new DH160D5S, but which seems to have been a waste of time and money, because it does exactly the same thing as the original.  I even changed the cables autour between it and the burner, but it made no difference.  The burner still works fine but not DVD ROM.  I tried to find a more recent driver for it, but had no chance.  I found on a Dell website for this drive which was an update of the firmware for Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not for Windows 10.  I advanced and downloaded, but when I tried to run, I got the message: "your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update.  Update has been canceled. »

  I want to try a different brand of DVD ROM, but would have to buy one without knowing if it would help.

  Any help will be appreciated.

  Since I posted this message I discovered that there is a driver problem with this DVD ROM.  There's no driver available yet to make the drive compatible with Windows 10.  Since then, I returned the drive and replaced by another brand that is compatible with Windows 10.

  Hi, I have a pc compaq, with toshiba dvd players. DVD - rom SD-M1712. I have windows xp. I was doing a holiday film that is too big to go on a 4.7 GB dvd + r disc (which I have done before) so I thought that I had nothing better to do that to buy a larger drive so I bought a pack of 10 dvd + r dl discs. The drive does not recognize them and I don't know if it's because they are double-layer.

  I don't know what that means in terms of anyway, but don't understand why it won't work.

  I installed the latest BIOS v2.50 as well as the latest Windows patches.

  To the search, in the Setup of the BIOS (ESC during startup), the drive is not available.

  I tested the drive in my old non - Toshiba with Win2k laptop with no problems.

  It won't be very easy get your new work of drive on your S1, I will explain why:

  Most DVD players for laptops (including your Plextor 608AL) do not have jumpers to set
  their place according to the requirements of the laptop.
  Three settings are available: master/slave/CableSelect

  Most Toshiba laptops require the CD to react as a secondary master drive, unfortunately
  a disc factory settings in bulk comes as a disk Primary Master or CS.

  There are two options how to get to missing jumpers to make it work.
  (1) thanks to a new firmware patch that has this option defined by the software based on Toshiba standard or
  (2) by a bridge of material on some pins to the back of the drive.

  As you can see, both options will cancel the guarantee of the reader and are not easy for a techie/technician.

  As for option 1) on the search for a suitable firmware... no there are none available now. I checked the official site of Plextor, but also sites of patch firmware... NO CONCLUSION.
  According to another Forum, business Plextor responded to a request for a firmware adapted with this answer:
