  • Help! Aspire 5735 laptop with broken screen does not recognize external monitor after the factory restore

I have an ACER Aspire 5735, running horrible Vista that never worked from the beginning, always locked up, media player never worked, on, on, and after about a year my dog took in the power cord and threw out of the table and the broken screen. I used it with an external monitor for a while, but it was even worse after that and after that he take to get fixed yet has proceeded to run super slow, always locked up, refused to stop or start upward normally, and so he sat in a closet for about 3 years.

I took it out a week ago to see if I could at least use it for my kids to friends to play on, but that she still had so many questions, I decided to do a factory restore. And of course the recovery disks that I did when I got it do not work and are not yet recognized by the computer. So I went online and has used a method that I found there by rebooting and hitting the keys ALT F10 until I was at the factory reset option. It worked GREAT! Except once the computer has restarted and opened up to windows deleted monitor and I can't do anything with the computer because apparently it does not recognize that it is hooked to an external monitor on the restore to factory settings! Help!

She does not recognize the monitor as it has been restarted and was even the windows start the display of the icon, but as soon as it loads the screen becomes black with just the graphics "monitor is on but not connected to what either" floating around.

Is it possible to access something in the BACK or other so he could recognize the external monitor?  What is finally toast?

Connect the external monitor to the laptop.

Hold down the FN key and press the F4 key. Check if you get a display on the external monitor.

It seems to me installing the Console and media attach the plug-ins OK, but I get a problem when I try to join a DVD-ROM. I select the ISO from Centos 5.2 image, but when I press the Connect button I get a pop-up indicating that "the page at https://192.168.108.102 says: ' then 'selection of CD/DVD-ROM not valid.'.

  • DVD - ROM not recognized with setting of M/S

Hello, I just bought a DVD SD-R2412 drive to replace my dead drive (same model). However, my old drive was CSEL type and this news is M/S. I didn't know there were differences in the same model. This new drive is not recognized by Windows XP (SP2) and disappear the second IDE controller. In addition, it is not possible to boot from the CD, so I guess that the BIOS is also not recognize the drive.

I saw an exchange of views on the reverse (CSEL M/S, new old) and some solutions for this case, but I have not seen all the comments on my problem.

My guess is that the drive is configured as a slave and the BIOS is not able to recognize in this position. If so, the question would be if there is a way to configure the drive M/S to act as a master.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It will be very interesting to know what unit of Toshiba you have. As far as I know, the drive is already set to slave, but I put now on exactly the position of the rider. However, take a look on the label which is located on the drive. You can find a picture how to affect the small rider master or slave.

  • CD/dvd-rom not recognized Vista

I uninstalled and do reinstall the driver for my dvd player. I see that I have the disc but it will not read anything. I can hear it trying but nothing appears. I can not burn on raw either. I need help and Mr. fix, that it does not download for some reason any.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

You can probably find more info here and maybe even the exact registry for your CD/DVD settings
drive from someone with the same model.

  • Windows 8 DVD ROM not reading discs

Yesterday I installed a few games on Steam, I was playing Saints Row the third while he was busy installing and bit after that I had to restart my PC because it was originally the trolling game. At the next startup, my laptop then got stuck on the login screen, where I put in my password/PIN and it would just sit there and do nothing. This kept going until that of course I had to go in safe mode and use that 'Everything clear, but keep your files' option windows 8 a, and am now able to log in and access my files.

Nut, now I am faced with a new problem, my DVD ROM will not read and disk I insert in there. It was working fine until I deleted everything, and now I can't use it.

I tried to use the tool of diagnosis provided by Microsoft for this problem, but it does not work. I should also mention the possibility of editing the registry does not work either.

My laptop is reasonably elderly, ten months or so, but I doubt that it is only a hardware problem because the DVD ROM shows on my computer and device manager says it works very well.

Are there other solutions for this or should I just take it back to the shop?

    Hi Taonga,

Thanks for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to know that the DVD ROM is not working now. I appreciate your efforts toward this problem. It could be a software or a hardware problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of your computer?
    2. What diagnostic tool do you run?
    3. Did you try it with any other DVD?

You can try all the steps in the below link, it may be helpful when fixing the issue.

  • CD/DVD-ROM NOT DETECTED

I bought a laptop (HP 2000-2d28tu) 6 months back. Unfortunately since last sound CD/DVD-ROM does not appear in any of the installed OSs, Win 7, Win 8 and Ubuntu i.e. also not in the BIOS settings. Please suggest proper advice?

I would say that this need to be replaced. It seems it would be under warranty if it's only 6 mos old. If this is not the case, the part is not too expensive and it's pretty easy to replace. After the return if you ned more of help.
