Reading by headset and built-in speakers

Hi all

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 15 (Inspirion 3521-3829) running Windows 8.1 and I want to play through the two sounds via headphones and the built-in Laptop speakers. Now when I plug in a headset all sounds automatically both helmet and no built in speakers. I can't find a setting to change this anywhere in Windows.

I have posted in forum Windows 8 this question and I got a response saying that there is an option in the Realtek HD Audio Manager either mute (default) or not to cut the speakers when a headset is plugged in. However the screen shot that accompanies this response looked nothing like what I have on my laptop. I tried to reinstall my Realtek Audio driver, but nothing has changed.

The original thread is located in the: http://www.eightforums.com/sound-audio/62571-playback-audio-through-both-inbuilt-external-speakers.html

If anyone knows how to get playback audio through two speakers and plug headphones, would be great.

Thank you.

Hello. Which may or may not be correct, however the Dell laptops do not have a Realtek Audio Manager. Instead, you get a Manager Audio from Dell, which seems to be based on the Realtek Manager, but is much less useful.

I don't know of a way for you to do what you want.

This is probably a stupid and basic question normally, I'd be embarrassed to ask. But I'm old enough not not to be bothered much more. I would like to have all the sound elements come through the headset and replace the speakers. But when I plug the headset comes through both. It worked fine a few days back, but not now. Help!  Please, I beg you!

    Hi pam1948,

Here are some steps that you can follow and check if they help you in fixing the issue:

Make sure that the headset is set as audio device by default.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click sound.
    2. click on the read tab.
    3. select headphones and then click set as default.
    4. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click set upand make sure that the configurations are set correctly.
    5. click OK to save your settings.

  • SX20 and SX10 recommended for small Display built-in speakers using conference rooms

    Hello

IM planning to deploy a few small rooms of meeting using SX20 and SX10 codecs, I was wondering if someone could give me a few key points to consider:

    1. display recommendation, beautiful built-in speakers, low delay (goog with codec echo cancellation performance), I want to use a 60-70 inch Led TV (not yet defined which brand and model), I would like to receive feedback on beautiful poster with nice audio performance and echo cancellation performance according to your experience.

    2. What are the disadvantages of using SX20 and SX10 bigger meeting room maybe 10 or 12 people?

    3. when to use an external microphone? or when is recommended to only use the internal mic?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards, have a nice day!

    1. Pretty much no matter what modern screen should work - different people will have different ideas on the question of whether the speakers are all good, you must listen to a few yourself and make up your community what you think is "better".  Echo cancellation can be changed manually on the codec to adapt the display if necessary (rather than leave it on "auto" which, put in our facilities, has caused more trouble than it's worth).
    2. The main disadvantage of using the SX10 or the least expensive of the range of the SX20s, is the camera and zoom.  In a larger room, you won't get a good closer with a camera 2.5 x.  I would say for a larger room, you look at the 12 x cameras.
    3. As a general rule - use additional microphones when you can't get someone in a radius of 3 m one of the other pickups.  So in a larger room, you may need to much.

  • DV7T-4100 no noise at all - w / Built in speakers, headphones or using the HDMI to the TV connection

Hello and thank you in advance for any help provide you.

    DV7T-4100 w/processor i5 M460

    Product ID: WW189AV

Home Premium to Windows 7 (64-bit)

My laptop has no sound at all - built in speakers, headphones, even when not connected to my TV via the HDMI port (which is a separate conductor).

2 weeks ago, all the sounds worked. I look at the (and listen to) the videos to youtube using my headphones. I stopped a video and used my laptop until the next day. There isn't any installs or updates applied I know. The next day, I closed Youtube and play words with friends and there was no noise. I restarted the laptop and still no sound.

I have read and worked through many processes and patches found on this and other forums, but did not get his job. Also I tried to restore my laptop fails for before this issie but my restore points (corrupted).

Drivers: The two drivers are present and state that they do not work correctly - this is the current version

ATI high definition Audio Device Date 06/05/2010 Ver 7.11.0.7706

IDT High Definition Audio Codec Date 17/06/2010 Ver 6.10.6289.0

I uninstalled (checked delete the driver for this device) and reinstalled several times.

I uninstalled, shutdown, removed power and battery, which is held from the Start button / stop for 30 seconds and then the and let it reinstall the drivers (they installed automatically when starting, I was not able to run the sp50642.exe I downloaded).

I also used the HP recovery tool and reinstalled the drivers to factory default

I run Microsofts problem finder and reports everything works.

I checked there is no settings enabled or disabled. When I test the speakers 'Sound and headphones' properties, I get "could not play the test tone".

FYI - I did not update the BIOS but I checked and mine is the updated F.29 version but the date is more than 14 days, then the download version of the SP55299.

I appreciate any assistance troubleshooting, you may need to provide. Please let me know any other info I can provide. Thank you

    Hi JSHEP500,

I suggest that you perform a backup and restore to an earlier date when the sound worked. Here is a document for using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7) which explains how to go back to a previous restore point.

If this does not resolve your problem, you will need to recover Windows 7 operating system using Microsoft Windows Backup and Restore.

I hope that this helps, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and have a great day!

  • Tecra A8, WinXP SP2 - number with built-in speakers

    Hello

I know that this issue has been brought on several times, but I can't find a solution.
I recently inherited a Toshiba Tecra A8. Problem is: the built-in speakers can't seem to work, but the sound is fine on speakers headphones or external. Speakers used to work at a certain time in the past, but the former owner cannot tell me what caused the change suddenly.

Here's what I did, chronologically, after going through several forums:

-SP3 was installed when I got the computer. I tried to go back to SP2.
-J' reinstalled XP (due, machine was too slow). SP2 came with the installation CD.
-J' installed two XP patches that were supposed to solve the problem: KB835221 and KB888111
-J' I re-installed the Realtek HD Audio codec
-J' I always try to inhibition/reactivate after all that I do, even before or after a reboot.

Here's what I can tell so far:

-Its icon is present on the system tray. All volumes are up, either on the Windows audio Manager or the Realtek one.
    -I have no BACK beeps.
-I'm still in SP2. Tried to move to SP3 (on this new installation of XP, of course).
-Until I have reinstall Realtex HD Audio, the "in-house" option listed under "Audio i/o" has been shown, but I couldn't access it. After reinstalling, it is simply gone.

I think that's about it. I came across the same solutions on various forums or discussion groups. I've been looking for two days now, nothing helps. The computer has never been dropped or damaged, and since then, it seems that many people experience (d) the same problem as mine, I'm sure this isn't a hardware problem. Well, I hope this isn't.

So there. I invite you, no, please use your magic and a flawless, absolute solution which will give back me the joy of listening to Justin Bieber in peace. Or something else.

    Thanks in advance!

What you did was right, but I m missing more important information: y at - it the same problem when you install original recovery image and test with the factory settings? If yes then we can say this isn't a hardware problem.
Now, we can only speculate if there can be unwanted hardware. Is that sound card works correctly, but somehow your internal speakers are disabled.

Reason is little mixer port audio jack. Maybe they are blocked somehow. Who knows?

  • 750SE HP Envy: envy 750 built-in speakers not recognized

Just today, pulled up a whole new craving 750 SE Tower (not an all-in-one) which the specs say has "integrated speakers" and he has Bang & Olufsun order healthy but find everything what I have said that no speakers are connected.  I loaded all the Windows updates and the updated and all updates (including Realtek Audio Driver) via HP Support Assistant.

They do not work at the beginning or after the upgrade to Windows 10.

    How to use internal speakers?

OK, so now, after you open the tower case, there no speakers in there.  Your marketing materials is clearly wrong.

Audio specs say 'built-in speakers.   This isn't a BIG deal that I have speakers (a big box of them to various courses of PC) but I have boought some of you if your material has been correct.  It is a PC, not an entertainment system - I have no need of boxes of serious and other extremes.  I just used two simple speakers that you can not hardly more.

  • His monitor with built-in speakers

    Hello
I have an Optiquest Q7 monitor with built-in speakers.  I used to get a sound from the built-in speakers with my XP computer.  I recently upgraded to a computer with Vista 64 bit.  However, I no longer get sound through the built-in speakers.  I tried to sound in the control panel and disabled the exclusive mode in the Advanced Options tab.  Any thoughts on what may be the problem?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi EaswarS,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

First check if the internal PC speaker has by default.

    1. click on Start, type Sound in the search field and select Sound from the list when it becomes available

    2. check that the device audio speakers is set as the default device and is activated

NOTE: If the audio peripheral speakers isn't in the list, right-click anywhere on the playback of the Audio window tab, then select options Show disconnected devices and Show disabled devices .

    3. If the sound from speakers option is disabled, right click on speakersand then select Activate .

The sound should now be restored. If the device audio speakers still does not work properly, check if the audio device is enabled in the Device Manager.

Step 2: Check if the audio device is enabled in the Device Manager

If there is no sound from the speakers, follow the steps below to determine the State of the sound hardware in Device Manager.

    1. click on Start, type device in the search box, and then select Device Manager from the list.

    2. click on audio, video and game controllers to expand the list of audio devices installed on the computer.

    4. determine if the audio device in question is enabled or disabled.

    ·         If an arrow appears on the volume icon, the audio device is disabled. Go to the audio driver update.

    ·          If a down arrow is not displayed on the volume icon, the audio device is turned on. Go to verify that the audio device is enabled in the Device Manager.

    5. right click on the name of the audio device and then click Activate. If the problem persists, then follow step 6.

    6. right click on the device name, select Propertiesand then displays the message in the device status field. The device status field contains either:

A message that contains most troubleshooting for your specific device information.

    Or

A message indicating that the device is functioning properly.

Step 3: Install an updated audio driver

    1. click on Start, type device in the search box, and then select Device Manager from the list.

    2. click on sound, video and game in the Device Manager window controllers.

    3. right click on the name of the audio device listed under sound, video and game controllersand then click Update driver software.

  • S2716dg - built-in speakers do not work

I got a new S2716dg for Christmas. It took some adjustments, but now I love it (the gamma is much too high out of the box).

Just one problem, the built-in speakers don't work at all. I have correctly set the audio source and reinstalled the Nvidia drivers with no luck. I can plug the headphones on the monitor and hear the sound, but the speakers do not work.

I tried to call telephone technical support, but the tag of express service for this monitor does not work if the time-out to have my abandoned call was twice as long. Is there a way I can call directly for assistance to the Canada without having to go through the routing of calls?

See the S2716DG User Guide. The S2716DG not built in speakers.

Audio output port side is only for headphones. OSD (On Screen Display) - Audio only adjust the headphone volume.

The bottom line audio output port is for external speakers.

  • HP f1703 monitor and Harman/Kardon speakers

I have a HP f1703 monitor who is about nine years old.  It is different from the picture on the site of HP support for this model number - mine has no built-in speakers.  It came bundled with a pair of Harman/Kardon speakers that draw power from the display itself (no separate power supply).

A few days earlier, when my machine using XP, the monitor suddenly began to blink between a black screen and the desktop.  It's a constant nod.  She continues to do so when the VGA cord is not attached and connected to a second desktop computer.  I used a spare of same amperage power cable and it continues to blink.  It seems safe to say that the monitor is ruined.  If there is some simple troubleshooting tips, I would greatly appreciate them.

But my main question is this: given that the speakers are not come with a separate power supply, is it safe to use the power supply to the monitor with them?  The Jack fits perfectly and when it is plugged into an outlet, there is no intererence, crackling or anything like that.  I don't want to fry my card sound or motherboard.

The model number on the speakers is HP 5187-2105.  The rated power is DC 12V 1a.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    Hello FireDragon,

It is an interesting case. I found the speakers online through Amazon, while they are sold separately without the monitor and it comes with a power supply. What I can't find is the power supply is.

That being said, I can't say for 100% certainty that power can be used, I think that you should not have problems if.

I would also say that (and it is probably not the answer you want to hear) speakers can be relatively cheap and you may be better off just buying a new set of speakers.
