  • I can't log off, reboot, lock or shut down my computer

    I'm stop by closing the cover, but when I turn the back does not require password to access all. It's a dell inspiron with windows 7.

    I have reset my password for my user account on my control panel computer and then downloaded the malwarebytes from the other suggestion, but it would not be in a first time. In a last effort, I went into options of closing and click on change user to ditch. This has brought to the top of my user account for my computer and required a password. After that I connected through this, all of a sudden I was able to accept the download of Malwarebytes. I had 75 or so viruses and one time it was deleted, I was able to restart my computer, lock and if all goes well shut down (I'm going to double check). Thank you for these two suggestions.

  • How to suspend, restart, shut down as default instead of Force *.

    I know it's strange, but I still see "Force Suspend, restart of strength and force Shut Down" when I click on the menu 'Virtual Machine' WITHOUT hold down the Option key.  This also affects the behavior when I set the preference 'when you close the virtual machine"to"Turn off the virtual machine", as he always does force stops instead of a graceful.  Note I can hold the Option key to Force * to go and make the soft stop, but that's all just annoying.

    So the question is, how can I make sure the normal shutdown of suspend, restart, are the default actions?

    My system is:

    Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual - Core Intel Xeon

    Mac OS X 10.5.8

    VMware Fusion 3.0.1 (215242)

    Windows XP SP3 VM (2 CPUs, 2048 MB RAM, 3D active)

    Thank you!

    The default power options are controlled by the .vmx powerType.* entries, and I think that they are also affected by the question of whether the tools are installed. You want the following lines:

    powerType.powerOff = "soft"
    powerType.powerOn = "soft"
    powerType.suspend = "soft"
    powerType.reset = "soft"

    (as opposed to the 'hard'). These should have been set this way automatically, but if you have imported the virtual machine from another source, they can be different.

    Note that if the client does not know how to properly manage power plants, that does not help.

    If I press the Windows shut down, the VBI making every time reboot (reboot) instead of the stop.

  • BSOD Shut-down on blue screen Code 9f

    I also encounter this everyday, several times, as the PC goes into sleep mode.  Here are the basic BSOD report:

    Dump File Crash Time Bug Check String Bug check code Parameter 1 Parameter 2 Parameter 3 Parameter 4 Caused by the driver Caused by address Description of the file Name of the product Company Version of the file Processor Name of the computer Full Path Number of processors Major version Minor version

    What is frustrating is that I have only one device (NIC) with a status of power tab and is disabled.  Also, when I did a search on the Internet for each of these four parameter codes reported, none of them have been found. I guess the stamped are perhaps the spell name of
    special devices in the order more likley to less likely candidate as the cause of the closure.

    It is an older machine, but all the drivers and BIOS are the latest available. (GigaByte 8I1000PE). I built it myself and there work very well under WinXP SP1 - SP3. Feeding is 550W. All cards are 'green', and less than half of the locations are full. MS has had a few KB patches for problems of closure. Installed, but no difference. Nothing wrong with my 4 GB RAM DDR800 Corsair, bonus either. I understand that there is a problem with NTOSKTNL.exe for over ten years.

    Other ideas that the few valuable I see here and on the TechNet site appreciated.  Curiously, however, most of the concerns has to do with laptops. Mine is a desktop - which should have far fewer problems of POV material.

    This "might" be a power problem, even if it's not the most common cause.

    9F is probably a driver issue. Security/antivirus/antispware programs can also cause these issues.
    Have you added the recent devices or the updated drivers - don't forget to check in the Windows updates to see
    If a driver has been updated before this happen. This can also be caused by a loose card or cable
    and even a weak power supply.

    This error means that a driver does not properly support the power state. Check in Control Panel - device
    Manager to ensure that the drivers are not stop during sleep - double-click adapter - NETWORK adapter
    and WIFI - healthy and others - tab power management - uncheck allow the computer to turn off.
    Maybe the only has a problem.

    Start - type in the search - find MSCONFIG in top - right, click on – RUN AS ADMIN

    General tab - tick this box start Diagnostic - APPLY / OK - REBOOT

    Try it now. If the computer still blue screens thinks that video driver. Otherwise think the card NETWORK, Wifi, sound, or...

    Hello

    I have Windows 8 Pro x 64. I encountered this problem 3 times now.
    When I select "Shut down" in the "Power" menu, it restarts in fact instead of power. After that, when I connect, it gives me an error message "send / do not sent" who says that my computer has encountered a problem during the restart blocking down and she.
    Any idead why this happens?

    I had the same problem.
    But the Solution obtained by following these simple steps of 5:

    1. If you are on the new screen startup, power supply , and Windows will automatically search for the term and will show you the results.

    If you are on the desktop, move your cursor to the top right of the screen to access the new Charms Bar. Now, click on the optionSearch and the power of type in the search box.

    2. now click on parameters of link given in law-bar side of search page results and then click on the link ' change this power buttons " given in the search results.

    3. it will open Power Options window. You can also open the same window by typing powercfg.cpl in the dialog box RUN and press enter and then click on the link ' choose what buttons power ' in the left sidebar.

    Now go down to bottom and you will see "Turn the quick start (recommended)" option in the settings to stop section.

    4 turn off the option by unchecking the check box, and then click the "Save Changes" button.

    PS:  If the option is not shown or grayed out, scroll to the top and click on the link "Change settings that are currently unavailable" .

    Your office is frozen?   If not, stop or reboot can wait for something to finish - you close all open applications?   Allow you your system to connect to the internet (these pesky background downloads or you are not always aware of synchronization)

    Hey Buddy,

    First of all, the BIOS can only be updated Windows System. There is no other version that you can download on the site Web of Toshiba.

    But I doubt that this problem is caused by the BIOS. It s I knew not that it is possible to change certain values which make impossible Windows installation. With other words BIOS is secure and with all the settings, it should be possible to install Windows.
    An alternative you can press F9 in BIOS to load the default settings. That would be the best option.

    But according to your assignment, if Windows installation of recovery disc doesn t work and you are not able to charge the battery while the laptop is turned on it seems to be a hardware malfunction because seriously it has nothing to do with the software.

    So either come you into contact with the ASP to get the repaired device or you can repair yourself with original spare parts with parts ASP or second-hand on eBay or similar platforms.
    Of course, you can buy a new laptop: in case the motherboard would be defective because the motherboard is very expensive spare part, it would be the best choice in my opinion.
