    Hello

the problem was already discussed in another thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18082

The last message was probably the solution for the whole of the case. The mentioned user that "TfncKy.exe" belongs to the Toshiba Hotkey utility that only needs to be removed and reinstalled for this problem.

In addition, it would be wise to check the registry with CCleaner for example before you reinstall the Hotkey utility.

    See you soon

    Hello

    1. do you receive this after you see Start button or entry?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1: Boot errors are fixed by the clean boot.

Perform the clean boot and see if that helps.

A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

Reference: How to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you're done to diagnose, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.

Method 2: Some malware parody itself as InfoCenter.exe, especially when it is located in the folder c:\windows or c:\windows\system32.

I suggest you make a system full scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

, Note 1: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note 2: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

  • Problem with av.exe; process will be not open.

I want to open by saying that I know it was stupid of me to try to solve this problem without consulting others.

In any case, my computer is infected with av.exe.  I tried to run the two Avast! Antivirus and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but he diverted their windows, so I couldn't run them.  At this point, I realized that I could put the av.exe task manager end process and did so; However, he would not reopen whenever I opened a new process.  In the Task Manager, I clicked av.exe, went to properties, then security.  The program has settings irremovable Allow "Full control", "Edit", "Read", "Write", and "reading & run", under all the three accounts listed: SYSTEM owner (user account) and administrator.  I tried to reduce to nil the threat by adding permissions denied to all these (it was, and by far the most stupid thing, I think).

In a sense, it worked; AV.exe is unable to start.  However, the computer tries always run every time I try a new process and since av.exe will not start, nor will any other process, including Windows Explorer and system restore.  'Run' still works and I can use it to access the command prompt, but other that that, I am limited to what I've already opened: Mozilla Firefox, Windows Live Messenger and the Task Manager.

I'm quite frustrated, and I wouldn't rather fiddle around with anything without notice.  Ideas, another that does not try to bump things?

    Hi Girish,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem, it seems that you are having problems with the game Age Of Empires II, you receive an error message "AppCrash.exe". I'll help you fix the problem.

    (1) what version of the game is installed on your computer?

    (2) did the problem started recently?

    (3) have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

Step 1: Let me inform you that the game is not compatible with Windows 7.

You can check the link below:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/win7/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?TempOsid=win7&Locale=en-us&TextSearch=Age%2Bof%2BEmpire%2BII&Type=Both&CurrentPage=0&TotalPages=1&ShowCriteria=0&SortCriteria=Relevance&Compatibility=Unknown&LastRequested=14

Step 2: If the version of Age of Empires II is not compatible, I suggest to install the program under Windows XP service pack 2 compatibility mode and check if that helps.

Make older programs to run on the version of Windows 7

  • I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe.

    original title: error with ehshell.exe

I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe. Could you help me?

This problem exists since the 1st Media Center. SP2 and SP3 had a difficulty, but it is obvious that it doesn't always. The same problem still exists in Vista today with a lot of other carried over from XP. System restore would work, but you do not have any good restore points so reinstall an operating system seems to be your only option.

You probably don't want to do an OS reinstall you need for Media Center, but since it does not at all, you might want to play then remove the Media Center updates and or SP3 and reinstall them.
