Receive an error message: unknown switch '-auto'
unknown switch '-auto'
Well I need help to solve this problem. First of all, I use Windows 7 Home premiumn on an HP laptop. The switch unknown message '-auto "began to appear about two weeks ago. It appears on the Windows form. By that I mean if I'm in and schedule it doesn't show until I have leave the program and return to the screen in the main window.
I searched the forum to answer and get a lot of success, but none has nothing to do with this problem. No new sothware not loaded for a long time.
I had to pick a topic of windows, but hey no this type of problem if I chose the office and customization.
A Google search has the following link for the HP Forum (and nothing else) with other users of HP who has recently experienced the same problem. There is no solution but may be worth your while to keep an eye on this thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Desktop-PC-Questions/error-message-Unknown-switch-auto/td-p/1362843

Hi Girish,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
According to the description of the problem, it seems that you are having problems with the game Age Of Empires II, you receive an error message "AppCrash.exe". I'll help you fix the problem.
(1) what version of the game is installed on your computer?
(2) did the problem started recently?
(3) have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
Step 1: Let me inform you that the game is not compatible with Windows 7.
You can check the link below:
Step 2: If the version of Age of Empires II is not compatible, I suggest to install the program under Windows XP service pack 2 compatibility mode and check if that helps.
Make older programs to run on the version of Windows 7

Hi Andre G.1. why you try to uninstall the hotfix?
2. How do you try to uninstall the hotfix?I would like you to follow the steps mentioned below.Step 1:a. Click Start, in the search box type "view installed updates"
b. Select the update you want to uninstall and click on uninstall.Step 2:If this is not successful, turn on your computer in a clean boot State, and then try to uninstall the installed update. There may be a conflict of third party software. Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.Aziz Nadeem - Microsoft Support[If this post was helpful, please click the button "Vote as helpful" (green triangle). I received calls from a person in India who said that they are Windows services centre telling me that they have received the error message saying that my computer is damaged, and they want to help me. But I have not received any error message on my screen. When I asked them how they got my number they said it's from the database of Windows. The number they gave me is 02921252715 and when I called the number of the person on the other end told me that they are a company called Windows e-solution, independent company and is not attached to Microsoft Windows. You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting in SafeMode (F8) with networking.

Prob Winmail.
Receive the error message "the server that you are connected using a security certificate that could not be verified that the certificate CN name does not match the passed value. Do you want to continue? ». This started happening after that my laptop has been reformatted. I have synced with Gmail winmail and followed the instructions to do this correctly. By pressing the tab 'Yes' allows me to use winmail, but it's a little embarrassing.
Using a digital signature? Check the settings under Tools | Options | Security and also tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Security.
Also, see here (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=86382) and make sure that your settings are correct.

I installed Office 2010 on my computer with Vista and now can't connect via cable or wireless. I get the error message: unknown connection status. The dependency service or group was able to start. I know that the router and the wireless work. I tried several of the mentioned patches, but nothing has worked. My Verizon card works.
Hello Chelen,
I suggest you visit this Microsoft TechNet thread where they discuss the same problem you are having:This response may be useful:"I also had the same problem and the solution above does not work.My problem was caused by corruption in the TCP/IP stack
To fix, you need to run a command as administrator prompt
Start > all programs > Accessories > prompt (right click and run as administrator)
At the command prompt, type: netsh winsock reset
"Ignore all errors, restart and voila'.
