Yes.  One moment.  Never give your credit card information to anyone unless you phoned the person yourself and know who you're talking to.  Microsoft does not phone people.

  • Received a call today about my Microsoft Office

We received a call a few weeks of 'technical support', (the connection was bad, so has not heard if he said Microsoft", telling me that my computer has issues an error message and there phone to help me fix.)  First of all, I said my computer was broken, that he did not believe me.  So I said I called technical support.  He said no, my IP address showed the error, that is why he is phoning.  I said, if there is an error, I can fix it myself.  His reply "no, this isn't a mistake, you can fix it.  If you go to your computer and give me access 5 minutes I can repair it for you"it became enough stress for ant.  Which I never said, 'thank you. Good Bye' and he hung up.

This morning, we receive a call from someone who says they come from Microsoft and he calls about our Office of Microsoft.  It was early in the morning, my husband is not tech-savvy, he said that it was not a good time and can call back you later?

I guess it's also a call not an official Microsoft representative?  (that I did not in any request for support?).  Is this correct?

I tell myself that I should be ready when they call back.

August 18 at 14:49, I received a call from someone claiming to be a Microsoft technician. I barely understood what they said because there accent of the Middle East, but he said that it would be just a matter of time before my computer would crash because of the amount of errors on my computer. He then asked me to start my computer and to now hold the window by pressing the letter R and type eventvwr , and then press ok. A screen came up and on the upper left corner, was asked to support customs seen by double witch clicking grew to administrative activities and double-click on it. I was then invited to watch the center of the screen and above and asked if I could see administrative events and how much was there. I told her that there are 528 events. He then told me to scroll down on the list and all I could see were triangles (warnings) yellow and Red errors, 528 combined overall. He then told me that this list would continue to multiply until my computer would crash. He began to talk about a guarantee of microsoft which would prevent this list to build up again in the future. I told her that I had never heard of a software microsoft warranty. I asked him how this warranty was going to cost me, and he said it would be $ 109 for three years. First, I need to transfer control of my computer to a microsoft technical repairs and that I must leave my computer for a few hours, the time required to carry out all the repairs but first, I have to go to a website called www.ammyy.com . On this site, that I was told that I would be able to transfer control, and when repairs were fix, the technician would present me with a form, I have to fill in for Microsoft software guarantee for an amount of $ 109. I was wrong as well transfer controls because I started to suspect a fraud and I told him that I would not go further with that and that I was going to hang up the phone. His appeal is still on my phone but the number is not available so I can't remind him or provide Microsoft with phone number here. I hope that this information will be useful to Microsoft.

    Kind regards.

  • Received a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, it is a call or a scam?

    Hi all

I live in Switzerland, but am British and a mac user (no groans please) although I Mac office installed.
In any case, tonight I received a call from an Asian woman of this phone number 00441865600154, the 1st time, I pressed the wrong button and cut them but they were recalled to work and she said she was from MS and my computer downloaded hacking software and had it flashed an alert at Microsoft. The line was very very bad and I've been cut called the number back and I just domestic type normal BT mail voice... scam or real?
MS have the ability to track these things, and how they know my phone number to the House Switzerland?

I am a little freaked by the present, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is a scam, Microsoft does not call for end-users, because I don't think that they follow everyone. All calls more like this contempt please and offer the information for them. Total scam.

They probably bought a list of phone numbers from somewhere or they get telephone directories in Europe. Not too sure about all other methods. That would be my guess.

    I hope this helps.

  • Received a call from the scam making pretend to be Windows technician

    Original title: the license expires

Received a call today by a technician from Windows indicating they received the error messages from my computer and that my IP address has been disconnected.  I bought my computer in 2004 and never received any notice.  He said that some of my programs may stop working if I did not renew the license.  My question is - is - it a legal representative of Windows or just someone trying to sell a product?

    (1) "licensing" do not expire.

    (2) no MS gets your computer error messages. In fact, they would have no way of knowing something about you.

    (3) it is not a representative of Windows. Microsoft does not make unsolicited calls.

    (4) it is a well known scam talked again and again in these forums.

    (5) they do not sell anything. They want access to your computer and your credit card. You know what's going to happen.
