Recently, I was unable to boot my laptop HP Pavilion

I was running Windows 7 Home, 64-bit, SP1.  I had just solved other problems after many hours.  Those who required to uninstall then reinstall all 3 browsers.  When I finished that I violated one of my cardinal rules.  I downloaded, installed and run a registry cleaner without reading the comments or he analyzes first.  Immediately upon restart, the laptop could not restart.  Nor would he find or fix anything in the Startup Repair.  It would not restore to any of my points - not even a picture.
I lifted my hands and taking it to my local shop.  They have spent some time trying to find a virus they don't.  They found zero hardware problems.  Finally, they said that more that probably I was irretrievably destroyed the registry by running a registry cleaner.  They claim they found Windows 7, once damaged, will not itself fix for anyone, ever (which I doubt).  They also use CCleaner to do anything in the registry other than the removal of a key with regedit.  Their solution was to take out the hard drive and hand it to me.  They said that if I wanted to remove my data I can then plug the drive back in and do a clean installation of Windows.

That seemed OK, but I have another problem that my Win 7 from a CD to upgrade.  The machine came with Vista.  Not wishing to tackle this 'grey area', I solved just install Ubuntu.  However, I'm unable to completely out of my data on the hard drive.  A couple of main directories, including my music, which is be the one that I want to save, reports, when I click on it in Windows Explorer, it is corrupted or damaged and inaccessible.  I spent years of collection of these songs!

I tried what scan disk and repair utilities I have nothing done.

Does anyone know an affordable, reliable and secure data recovery tool?

After posting last night, I ran CHKDSK again (which had not completed the first time I tried it).  He fixed the problem and got my music and re-formatted the drive.  But thanks a lot for the advice.  I'm now ranked far in case I met this new.
Now, I'm ready to go out HD container, return to the laptop where they came from and install Ubuntu on this subject.  I wonder how many possible ways can spoil that?

  • Compaq Presario CQ61, unable to boot the laptop

Compaq Presario CQ61 running Windows 7 Home Premium (build 7601) bought about 4 years ago.

Computer failed to restart after a period of sleep.  I suspect that it doesn't have an automatic restart after automatic installation of an update - it's only a guess because I have no access to the computer at the moment, but I had a similar problem recently - on this occasion, I got a 'Safe Mode' start - by pressing F8 repeatedly gave me access to the appropriate screen.  I've implemented subsequently by restoring the system to a point just before a automatic installation of a critical Windows Update, and that seemed to do the trick.

On this occasion the F8 route has no effect on the problem; the 'caps lock' and 'NumLock' continually of the blink just of LED (i.e. not a limited number of times), the fan starts, but there is no other sign of life.  I tried a hard restart, but without result.  I also removed and replaced memory, but once again no effect.

    Can you please advise.

I'm so sorry I couldn't help you solve the problem, but maybe you could try to free the keyboard, nothing will happen if you do not lose the cpu and tight again. I know that the keyboard one is hard, persevering, best wishes.

  • PC laptop Pavilion 15: how to fix the boot loop laptop HP Pavilion 15 (Winows 7, 8.1, 10)?

    Hello

A month ago I restared my laptop and it got stuck on a Windows loading screen (Windows 10). I thought it was windows problem and then reinstalled Windows 7. But after 1 day later, I face the same problem on windows 7. Then I changed from Windows to ubuntu, but the same problem. Today I went to a repair shop & technician said it's hard drive problem (but hard drive test result was good, no errors). Then he changed the disk HARD but same problem. He tried to install windows, but not of sone. Stuck on the loading screen.

    Please help me

A faulty memory stick could also cause this. Did you test memory? If you can deal with a bad sata controller on the motherboard.

  • Unable to boot computer after several attempts

Earlier this year, I bought a Dell with Windows 8 is already installed.  I don't know where the disks are supplied with the computer.  Recently, I was unable to boot my computer.  I restored to factory settings, updated it, restored to an earlier point, and now it does nothing.  Sometimes I was able to connect and it works fine.  Then, I stopped him and I don't and then sign up again next time.  Right now, it is not yet running the auto repair.

So, anyone have any suggestions or know what I have to do because I really want my computer to work.  If I can't connect, is there anything I should do?  How can I avoid this happening again?

Almost certainly, it came with none. Instead it came with a recovery
    partition.

Recently, I was unable to boot my computer.  I restored to factory settings.

    Using the recovery partition?

refreshed, restored to an earlier point, and now it does nothing.

Unless you are having a hardware problem, you probably screwed
something in these steps upward. Exactly what you were doing and how?

Sometimes I was able to connect and it works fine.  Then, I stopped him and I don't and then sign up again next time.

That looks a lot like a hardware problem. Maybe overheating.
supply failure, hard drive, motherboard, RAM or something else.

He must still be under warranty, and you should probably get Dell to
    see what is the problem.

  • Upgrade - unable to boot (probably error classpnp.sys) RAM

    Hi all

I have an acer aspire 5742G with windows 7 Home premium Edition and 3 GB of RAM.

I bought a Corsair Valueselect 2 x 4 GB RAM together. When I replaced the original/3 GB with the corsair, I was unable to boot windows.

    Problem mentioned here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1888966/windows-boot-memory-upgrade.html

Basically, I get an infinite loop of "unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the reason for this... »

    1 start windows normally

    2 start windows in recovery

These two options are responsible and we're back to the same loop.

After trying to boot into SafeMode (via F8), I could see the start-up hung at classpnp.sys

I put the original RAM dos and windows started without any problems.

Googling has revealed that this problem was already previously, but no solution has been put forward except: put the old memory.

I've updated BIO to the latest version, BIOS recognizes the 8 GB (in original and updated updated version).

Any ideas / suggestions are welcome.

    Kind regards

    Update and closing:

I went to the shop of pc and we tried the RAM from another manufacturer, ICUDU (2 x 4 GB 1333) and the pc started without any problems. I'm surprised that the manufacturer of the RAM has this impact it could work or not.

I hope that this problem is not encountered by others, it was quite an experience.

However, my conclusions are added below. As I mentioned in the first post, the problem has been experienced before and the 'solution' was a status quo, do not level. This experience taught me that not all RAM is created also. Even the best-known brands may be sometimes inconsistent.

    Summary:

Upgrade of RAM 8 GB on an Acer aspire 5742G with i3 - 370 M processor:

Upgrade memory ICUDU (2x4gb) Kit works,

ValueRAM Corsair (2x4gb) - sorry to say - did not work.

    Kind regards

  • ProBook Crash/unable to Boot by using a recovery disk

The title explains it well enough. My computer crashed after getting the blue screen of death. I was unable to boot after that. I ordered the HP recovery discs. And now I am unable to boot from the recovery disc. I also gave a screen that says device not found Boot please install an operating system on your hard drive. I did the thing any escape goes in the boot, it I also did the F11 thing, nor have borne fruit. If it's important I use a ProBook s 4530 on Win7 64 bit.

Then I ran another test drive, then tried to install windows again, it worked. You'll love PCs. thanks for your help.

  • Satellite P100-347: blue screen at startup - unable to boot volume

Recently, I left my 2 younger brothers playing NFS Carbon on my satellite P100-347, pre-installed with media center edition 2005, and now it fails to start.

During the process of possibly starting a blue screen appears for about a second and then it shutsdown (I managed to make the words "unable to boot volume" on the basis of the blue screen).

I tried to boot with a XP media center DVD but it gives me only a possibility of reinstalling the operating system with a cost of losing all my important data. Normally I would have picked up the system, but I don't want to lose my data.

Can I do other than take it to a technician?

    Hello

Well, for the most part the BSOD appears due to hardware problem or serious software.
In your case, the software problem is possible

Unfortunately, I think that the new installation of the OS is the best way to get the laptop works properly.
Now, you want to know how to record data and the files well, I think that you should remove the laptop HARD drive and must try to connect the 2.5 HDD via external USB controller to another computer. Then you can save the files to the other HARD disk

I think, now, you know that regular backups are important and necessary!

I can't boot my laptop Satellite Pro.
I have an orange light flashes. I tried to remove the battery and hold the power button, but it did not work...

    Help

    I agree with Liam.
The indicator flashes as a serious hardware problem was detected.
What you could do is remove the RAM modules and test the device with the new test modules but I guess that is not RAM problem but something wrong with the motherboard.

Your partition is dead, son, you need to open the back of your laptop and remove the hard drive and then put it in another machine that you use windows8 or 7 and restartine on cd or flash or whatever you use for bootin' and format the c / partition / after that, you can reinstall the hard driver in your laptop to reboot on your installation cd. and I hope you'll see where to install your system. Hi @db69613,

Welcome to the HP forums! It's a great way to engage, ask questions and find resolutions by working with specialists from the community of HP. I understand that you need assistance with your desktop computer HARD drive that is connected to your laptop via the USB port. I'll be happy to help you with this.

I'm just surprised at the levels of technical knowledge and technical skills that your possession. Hats off to you for this. It was very clever of you! It has been a privilege to have shared this platform with you and work with you.

First of all, programs of a different version or windows session will not work on another computer as it was installed on the computer of origin at this time. It is an installation and application software, to the difference of the data or information that is accessible by any computer when the hard drive is connected. It is because no software installation binds the application of this specific operating system installed on this specific to the time machine.

If the computer does not and the hard drive is accessible, all the content (such as music, photos, videos, and other information are accessible), but the programs have been installed originally are not available and will not work on any other computer when it is connected to the outside.

However, if the hard drive works fine, windows is correctly installed, then the same hard disk can be installed on another PC of office and some of the programs should work ideally.

I hope this helps! Please let me know how it goes. I really hope that the issue is fixed without hassle.

    HI Margaret,

    Thank you for your message.

Looks like you have a virus or malware causing corruption.

I suggest to update your Kaspersky Anti-virus definitions and run a full scan of the system.

Also, make sure here's you have the Vista disc in the drive when you run SFC, where it gets the correct file information.

Alternatively, you can try to perform a clean boot before you attempt to run SFC, to see if a startup program may conflict with it:

Windows recovery disc 32-bit error code meaning version question

    Hello
I hope someone can help me. I am unable to boot into windows vista 32-bit, so I downloaded the vista recovery disk and get an oxo error code what it means (thanks in advance)?

You don't give any info on what was the original problem with the computer.

You have set the Bios Setup to boot from the CD/DVD drive?

At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.

And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?

Use up arrow key to do this, press on enter.

Browse your Hard Drive manufacturer's website, download software from here and test your hard drive for errors.

    See you soon.
