Upgrade - unable to boot (probably error classpnp.sys) RAM

Hi all

I have an acer aspire 5742G with windows 7 Home premium Edition and 3 GB of RAM.

I bought a Corsair Valueselect 2 x 4 GB RAM together. When I replaced the original/3 GB with the corsair, I was unable to boot windows.

Problem mentioned here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1888966/windows-boot-memory-upgrade.html

Basically, I get an infinite loop of "unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the reason for this... »

1 start windows normally

2 start windows in recovery

These two options are responsible and we're back to the same loop.

After trying to boot into SafeMode (via F8), I could see the start-up hung at classpnp.sys

I put the original RAM dos and windows started without any problems.

Googling has revealed that this problem was already previously, but no solution has been put forward except: put the old memory.

I've updated BIO to the latest version, BIOS recognizes the 8 GB (in original and updated updated version).

Any ideas / suggestions are welcome.

Kind regards

Update and closing:

I went to the shop of pc and we tried the RAM from another manufacturer, ICUDU (2 x 4 GB 1333) and the pc started without any problems. I'm surprised that the manufacturer of the RAM has this impact it could work or not.

I hope that this problem is not encountered by others, it was quite an experience.

However, my conclusions are added below. As I mentioned in the first post, the problem has been experienced before and the 'solution' was a status quo, do not level. This experience taught me that not all RAM is created also. Even the best-known brands may be sometimes inconsistent.

Summary:

Upgrade of RAM 8 GB on an Acer aspire 5742G with i3 - 370 M processor:

Upgrade memory ICUDU (2x4gb) Kit works,

ValueRAM Corsair (2x4gb) - sorry to say - did not work.

Kind regards

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 6.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 6.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they

    Cause

A driver tried to access a pageable (or that is completely invalid) address while the IRQL was too high.

This bug check is usually caused by drivers who used a wrong address.

If the first parameter has the same value as the fourth parameter, and the third parameter indicates a runtime operation, this bug check was probably caused by a driver who was trying to run code when the code itself has been paginated outside. The possible causes for the error page are:

    • The function was marked as pageable and was operating at an IRQL higher (including obtaining a lock).
    • The function call was made to a function in another pilot, and that this driver has been unloaded.
    • The function was called by using a function pointer that was an invalid pointer.

At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.

And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?

  • Laptop hangs at startup - (stop classpnp.sys)

I have a laptop of 8943 G old Acer of 10 week who couldn't start about 2 weeks after the purchase, the problem solved startup repair, but he returns a week later. This question is the same as that experienced other users in that, once trying to boot in safe mode, the system stops at classpnp.sys. Now, nothing less than a full factory reset solves the problem, but he returned in a few days to a few weeks.

Here are the repair startup error report:

Here is what I tried already solve the problem, such as recommended by other users with this issue:

    Reset factoy - problem returns.
Disable write-behind caching on all drives - runs very slowly and finally does not start.
Pass BIOS sata AHCI mode on IDE - blue screen on startup.
Update all the drivers of devices - no effect.
    BIOS update - no effect

I am at a loss to know what to do then short it to try to get a new card mother or HARD drive. Any ideas would be appreciated as much info as to whether a new HDD or MB would help or not. The laptop is still under warranty Acer so this isn't a problem.

It seems that you have a bad hard drive or RAM module in your new system (ran 6 hollow landfill WinDBG), since it is a new system, I would bring her to the store you bought and let replace it.

Read this guide on how to test your RAM Modules: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/pc-upgrades/3432631/how-check-for-bad-ram-modules-in-your-pc/

Read this guide on how to test your hard drive: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/tophddiag.htm

Personally, I'd suggest to return the computer to the store and allow them to correct the problem, apparently not driver related to me (especially if you updated all..), it seems that you have a malfunction of the equipment.

You can try and run CHKDISK (http://windows8themes.org/how-to-run-chkdsk-in-windows-8.html), but I suggest you RMA your system and let check the RAM and hard drive.

If however, you want to ensure that it is not Windows, then reinstall Windows and see if the problems come back, but I bet they will be.

  • Master boot record error

My HP PAVILION desktop w5050 BE, necessary maintenance, apparently due to a virus problem (screen user shows no icons or ACS bar).

I also tried to make an image of c:, which always failed on "cannot read disc" on some points.

Then the pc cannot load windows.

I made a recovery from disk recovery, made on this pc.

    Now, it goes as follows:

    1 HP Invent screen

2 black screen by wite concerns underscore.

02:03 minutes 'Master Boot Record Error - press any key'

    4 windows start normally.

How can I get the normal starting procedure again? I read about a feature of "fixmbr" on the recovery console, but it does not appear to exist on my machine.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

According to what you have posted, it seems to me that the problem is hardware related.

the value 7 (realized with the elemnt of the test reading has failed).

Your drive HARD is not OK and would probably fail soon. It may need to be modified or replaced

I suggest that to contact the Service Center authorized HP closest. If you don't know where it is located, please contact HP for more information:

  • ERROR 1904WINDOW, SYS, WOW64, ACTSKN43. OCX.

When you try to download a program for online t.vv I get an error message: ERROR 1904WINDOWS, SYS, WOW64, ACTSKN43. OCX.  Then I continue the installation and click the icon I get an error message: Runtime Error 339 actskn43.ocx.  Can you help me

It SAYS it works with any version of Windows, but it does not detail these versions (and I doubt that this is really true - probably, this does not work on versions really old and they may not be thought to test for 64 bit systems).  I went on the site and test it myself but I don't have a 64 bit system (and I won't buy the package).  It is not in the http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/Search.aspx?type=Software&s=watch-football-now&page=1 Vista Compatibility Center, which simply means that it has not been tested - not that it is certainly not compatible (even if it is often the case - but he has worked on the PC of your daughter, so that we know it is compatible with Vista 32 = bit at least).

I didn't Kow what else to try.  Perhaps shoule you post your question in the pictures and video forum (with a link to this topic) and see if someone there can help you.  Here is the link: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistapictures/threads.

  • Laptop hangs at Classpnp.sys file.

So I installed Windows 7 the other night on my laptop.  I did the driver updates and installed Norton.  Also, I installed Office 2007.  Then I stopped it for the night.  The next day, I turned it back to install more than a few things.  A friend recommended that I have installed Ad-Aware, so I did and it ran.  I used it on some of my machines before without any problem.  I installed a couple more programs (SANDRA & CPU - ID), and then I stopped it for the night.  He got away.  I don't think anything, and after about 20 minutes, I did the strength.  I started up the next day and now it hangs at the windows startup screen.  I have tried the following to all the same results:

-Repair System - hangs at the screen repair
-Start normally - hangs at the windows startup screen
-Start in safe mode - crashes the classpnp.sys file
-Start in SafeMode with command prompt - crashes the classpnp.sys file
-start in SafeMode with network - crashes the classpnp.sys file

I even tried to put in the windows 7 disc to do a re-install and it hangs at the windows startup screen.

It seems that no matter what I try I lift the block to the windows splash screen.

    Someone help please!

So the other night, with that I tried a few more things all the same results.  Here is what I tried:

-J' bought a second GB of ram, so I tried exchanging a stick, and then another - same results.
-J' have bought a box hard drive, removed the formatted hard drive with another computer, ensured that I could save things he re-installed hard drive, booted from the CD - same results.
-J' I bought a new hard drive, installed, booted from the CD - same results.
-Replace the old hard drive with the 2 sticks of RAM - same results.

After reviewing a number of things, I found that when Windows gets to "Starting Windows" screen, it checks your hardware to make sure that things are OK.  Well, my hard disk, RAM, CD player and video card are OK (I get all the right stuff video), so there are only a few things left, and one is the motherboard.  So, I think that there is a hardware problem which does not Win7 load completely.

  • Loads of Boot Up Error Messages: "CLR error: 80004005 ',"the program can't start because LPK.dll is missing on your computer.

I get a number of error messages when I try to start my Windows 7.  Initially, I just got a black screen or a screen frozen at the point of "Welcome".  I was unable to boot into safe mode and the only options were 'valuation' or 'normally', which none worked.  I was finally able to start in safe mode.  It is a VERY slow process, and once it finally loaded, I get 3 error messages.  It was noted that "the program cannot start because LPK.dll is missing on your computer.  I got the message "GfxUI has stopped working" as a "CLR error: 80004005".»  Once I click OK on all this, windows Explorer tries to restart and stop eventually.  I tried to find solutions, but it seems that I can't in the control panel to check the settings.  Although I can click on the Start button and I don't see the control panel option, it will not be open.  How to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated it's super frustrating!

If you have a real win7 dvd, you can try to boot from this dvd and run a repair (disconnect external devices first)

If you don't have that a recovery of certain system-makers, depends on its options on the question of whether you can fix or do a destructive restore (the latter will destroy everything on the disc)

It seems that the image is not in the flash memory. Do you know where you downloaded the image? Once we know, we can understand what statement of startup, you need to do to make it start correctly.

  • Crash blue screen with error 1gdpmd64.sys

I have a Pavilion dv7-6b78us laptop.  He started to crash to a blue screen with an error 1gdpmd64.sys.  I tried just reboot and it hangs just still a little later after use.  I searched the web and found a site that recommended upgrading the graphics drivers and chipset.  I did and it still broke to blue screen after a short use.

I decided to do a system restore then after performing a backup.  The restoration went well past (disk formatted and reinstalled to restore a minimum of software.)  I then reinstalled all the upgrades of Microsoft (with the exception of IE 11) and then installed Norton Security Suite.  I then installed Microsoft Office & Student 2007.

I fell for the same system error blue screen again.  Is it time to tight teeth and get a new hard drive?

    Thank you.

Finally, I did a restore to the factory settings that formats the c: / partition and reinstall the PC to factory settings and original software.  I then reinstalling all other software.  So far so good.  I did most of the upgrade of Microsoft (there are more than 130 of them) and that is brought back up to 10.  However, I see there are updates more that need to be installed, so maybe I have have not yet hit bad.  I think I'll install the rest one at a time and see what happens.  Perhaps in this way I know that we're causing problems.

Have you tried upgrading your graphics and chipset drivers?

  • Unable to boot computer after several attempts

Earlier this year, I bought a Dell with Windows 8 is already installed.  I don't know where the disks are supplied with the computer.  Recently, I was unable to boot my computer.  I restored to factory settings, updated it, restored to an earlier point, and now it does nothing.  Sometimes I was able to connect and it works fine.  Then, I stopped him and I don't and then sign up again next time.  Right now, it is not yet running the auto repair.

So, anyone have any suggestions or know what I have to do because I really want my computer to work.  If I can't connect, is there anything I should do?  How can I avoid this happening again?

Almost certainly, it came with none. Instead it came with a recovery
    partition.

Recently, I was unable to boot my computer.  I restored to factory settings.

    Using the recovery partition?

refreshed, restored to an earlier point, and now it does nothing.

Unless you are having a hardware problem, you probably screwed
something in these steps upward. Exactly what you were doing and how?

That looks a lot like a hardware problem. Maybe overheating.
supply failure, hard drive, motherboard, RAM or something else.

Right now, it is not yet running the auto repair.

He must still be under warranty, and you should probably get Dell to
    see what is the problem.

    Error message "sys Page_Fault_in_nonpaged_Area_win32".

My machine runs 8 win and this message appeared and restarted my pc.

Recently I downloaded a zip file and in the background the Win Upgrade Wizard 8.1 revolved too.

the zip file has been one. Exe and I think it may be the reason or any other reason, because this way let me know.

Please let me know how to avoid the problem in the future.

I still believe win 8 OS for its finesse

    Thank you

I make a new thread for the problem of update and mark my answer as answered because your original crash problem is resolved.
