Record of planning in Shared Services

Hi Experts,

I installed EPMA 11.1.2.2 with HSS and planning. When I try to create a new planning application, it says there is no data source? Where can I create a data source? Also, I don't see Planning appearing in the HSS? I thought that the user I have looged in planning must have planning privelages. But when I see the HSS, I don't see the planning into it. Help, please.

Concerning
Sahil

Each application planning requires that each data source (you'll need an RDBMS to create the essbase server and data source connection information), you can create navigation to the next in the workspace

Once you are connected to the workspace - go to the next.
Go to the site--> administration--> Administration of planning

Once the Planning Administration is open, go to the Data Source Manager. Once you have the source of open Manager data,

Click on Action--> create and enter the database details and details of the Essbase server and validate it. Once you have the data source established, you can deploy 1 application planning against this data source.

For provisions, check in shared services if you have creator of the Application that you will find under Foundation-->--> shared service administrator EPMA.

If you found this helpful, please mark it as correct or helpful for others to find it easily. _

Thank you

  • Problem recording Essbase 11 with Shared Services

    Hi all

I recently installed Essbase 11 under Windows. Installation was a snap. However, when you try to set it up, it keeps failing trying to register with Shared Services. I can start Essbase fine of shortcut Windows and services, but it does not appear in the console of Shared Services. I have also looked at the configtool.log but can't find anything unusual except perhaps for this:

(Sep 02, 2008, 10:18:58), com.hyperion.css.CSSSystem, DEBUG, 20:3539: the file required for this HSSLogger.properties operation is not available.

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards
    Gerd

You can first install the Foundation first, but uncheck the workspace and the essbase. After that, proceed to configure shared services. Then install the workspace and configure them. Then install the essbase and configure.
I hope this will fix your problem.

because it's easier to get out of trouble if you install and configure it piece by piece. That installation, while at the same time.

In the manual it says you must install and configure the Foundation initially without workspace

  • Corporate user - shared Services - planning accounts

    Hello

I have a question related to the user in company accounts.

Suppose that it is applied a corporate identity that has had access to the planning was required in shared services provisioning and security at the level of the dimension. This user no longer works for the Organization now and corporate identity, therefore, is not more active.

What happens in the planning and shared services. He will always have a record of this account, and we will need to manually clear it situation every time like this happens, or because it is an identity corporate shared services and planning know for himself that this ID is not active and valid.

I would be grateful if someone could remove this doubt.

    Thanks in advance.

In theory if the account of the announcement is no longer so the provisioning is removed, now in the past there has been problems where if you don't service user first, before getting deleted from the announcement then the user still exists in some tables and becomes bland.
Sometimes utility like provsionusers and updateusers to synchronize up to shared services and delete all obsolete users, sometimes, they had to be removed manually.
I have not really tested or seen what is happening with the latest version to see if he actually manages to clean all obsolete users without any problem.

  • Shared services and LDAP

It is a question of beginner full so forgive me if I look ignorant: my understanding is that you put in service users in planning (11.1.13 or Fusion) through shared Services. If you are installing and configuring planning from scratch, therefore enter users of Shared Services. However, it is also a concept called native directory or OpenLDAP involved somewhere. How to push users application and planning of shared services and where the OpenLDAP come into this? Thank you.

Executive Guide to security following EMP should answer all your questions.

  • Record of planning app with shared services

    Hi all.

I created a new classic of planning app (11.1.1) with the intention of mirroring our production application. I copied this sketch of the production to the new application app. I also export the sql server database used by the application of the production planning and restored to the new app everything seems great so far.

My question is about the registration of the new shared services application. The application of production has about 35 MSAD authenticated users. What would the recording process of the new application with shared services and implementation of the production application users. The new application has not specifically record when it was created.

I'm a little worried. I don't want to do anything that might affect the current application of the production. How to register for the new application and add users without affecting the current application of the production. Is also simple to go to Administration-> application settings and clicking on 'Register Shared Services' and establishment of new users? Or are there any other steps that need to happen?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Dave

You need to register as you created an empty planning initially application which will be saved with shared Serices, would the provisoning to users/groups in shared services for the planning application, and then you perform the migration of the relational database across.
Wil you will probably have to change the URL of the shared services within planning, but no need to re-register.

  • Planning application no no projection in Shared Services 11

    11.1.2.3 version

Last week our planning database got corrupted, do not know how, but it happened.  I went through the steps to recreate and restore the data, however, there is a small problem.  The application is now not showing in Shared Services, therefore, that I can't access SmartView.  Here is what happened.

    1. because I'm a nervous nelly, I first renamed 'PLAN' "PLAN1" via EAS

    2. I then selected "Create Database" planning and had no problems, a new Essbase application and databases have been created.  The new application called 'PLAN' as expected

3 al ' Shared services, now, what emerges are two applications "PLAN1" which is clearly a single essbase application and "PLAN1" which is a planning application.

I can select plane1 as the planning application and can get security charge very well, however, in SmartView, users cannot connect.

How the world make it only show 'PLAN' and get rid of the old "PLAN1" applications.

    Thank you!

Finally, I felt comfortable enough to register the application with Shared Services.  A few seconds, the problem was solved!

  • Creating Application planning – Shared Services project edition

    Hello

I use the Hyperion 11.1.2.3 version and try to create the new application from planning through the workspace.  I am not able to see the 'Planning' group in the shared services project.

Please could you help me to create planning applications.

    Thank you

    Michel K

You will need to create a new application group in Shared Services, it is simple to do - Create Application groups

Once you have created the group, you should see it in the list of projects of Shared Services when you create a planning application.

  • Security planning vs Essbase in Shared Services (v.11.1.2.2 and v.11.1.2.3)

Hello. Is it possible in v.11.1.2.3 or v.11.1.2.2 planning to restrict access through shared Services so that a user is forced to access data through a form of planning Planning Excel Smartview and that the user cannot directly access the Essbase cube and run ad-hoc queries? We try to apply data and governance processes so that users must perform their updates and queries via the planning of forms in SmartView calc Manager rules are executed, etc.

    Thank you!

You need to remove the access Essbase writable & rights special user for these users.

  • Not available in Shared Services planning

    Hello

I am trying to reinstall a complete platform of Essbase (workspace of the Foundation, Shared services, Essbase and planning everything in version 11.1.1.3). I only have the documentation carried out by the person who installs the platform.

Nevertheless, I have a missing point planning.

The installation process has ended successfully, but when I try to create an application of planning (after creating the data source), planning is not available in the list of projects of shared services.

And, it could be linked, planning is not available in the workspace (wheel > Applications > empty | refresh)

I'm not very familiar with the planning, so I don't know where to look to fix this problem. (I guess I am missing a step in the creation of the Planning Application)

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Planning does not automatically exist in Shared Services, you must go in shared services and create it manually, once it has been created, you will be able to take when you create an application.

  • Planning of the migrated to dev app still points to prod shared services.

I have a 11.1.1 planning app to the dev who has been updated from prod by creating the app dev, restoring production Plannning app sql databases dev server, copy the prod dev essbase outline.

My main concern is that the app always seems to point to prod SSP when you look in the advanced settings, under Shared Services settings. I tried to change the shared path to dev services. When I try to save changes I get ' year error occurred while processing this page.» Check the log for details". I don't know where is this newspaper. I see the path that points to prod in the table HSP_SYSTEMCFG under EIE_SERVER.

I'm a little nervous to play with this because the last time that I trashed production shared services.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Dave

You can go in the relational table and update to the correct address of shared services, you will need probably need to restart the schedule service so that when you view it in the web planning it shows the correct url.
It takes nothing to worry in this regard does not mean that your application is registered for bad shared services.

  • Installation of shared services, Essbase and planning

    Hello

I use Essbase (64-bit), shared server and Planning + mandatory component of hyperion:
Can I install 32-bit applications planning, Shared services, provider of analytics on the 64 bit (windows 2003 EE) OS

Or does only 64-bit application on 64-bit OS AND 32 bit application on 32 bit OS.

    Concerning
    Kumar

OK, so essbase 64-bit will be on another server in this case you should be fine.
You can install other products on a separate 64-bit computer, you will see no advantage to do it well and you might as well use a 32 bit OS, but if you have only a 64 bit OS, you should be fine.

  • How to synchronize user for Shared Services planning

    Hi all

Please can someone guide me how to synchronize users for the SSP planning. I use the MSAD authentication.

    Thank you

If they can't log into planning then it would point to a configuration problem, you shouldn't need to do anything after provisoning them in shared services.
Are you sure they were definitely provisoned correctly.

If a migration that happened recently and users cannot connect, then it is running the updateusers utility.

  • Essbase crash due to not being in sync with Shared Services / planning

11.1.1.3 Essbase/Planning of assistance. An application with a database.

I had problems with security filters (my users could see things they weren't supposed to etc.) So I went and played around with the filter of Essbase just to test out scenarios.

That seemed to fix my mistakes that I saw in EN but... when I restarted the server. Essbase won't start and says that he is out of sync with Shared Services and hangs at about 20 to 30 seconds after starting. I right click on "Synch with Shared Services" do not know if I did it before or after having do the change with Essbase filters and obviously before I rebooted the server.

Now I'm stuck. Essbase does not start, I'm a fish out of water. Any suggestion on reset this if at least I can "deploy" planning and push back as it was. y at - it sort of reboot "safe mode". I have to do something in Shared Services?

I read a bunch of discussions on changing the security filters to for things like metaread etc. Never thought that I could cause crash the system with these types of changes.

    The error I get

    [Sea March 10, 14:17:32 2010] Local/ESSBASE0 / / / Error (1051518)

Essbase global application does not exist in the Shared Services

    Published by: user11903659 on March 10, 2010 11:34

Do not move to another environment essbase.sec.
I suggest to try get a previous day backup of essbase.sec, ensure essbase is stopped then replace it and launch.
I cannot say that definitely will fix the problem, but it is really worth trying.
