  I installed the EPM V11.1.2.2 system in the single server environment (MS 2008 Server R2) with the following components:
  * Foundation Services
  * HFM
  * FDM
  
  Have used embedded Weblogic server as a web application server and Oracle HTTP server as a web server. The installation was successful.
  During configuration.
  (1) I selected the option to deploy applications web SSP and workspace to a single managed server. Applications deployed successfully at EPMServer0.
  (2) in addition, I have selected to configure Oracle HTTP server as a web server.
  These two steps were successful.
  
  But shared services and the workspace URL do not work. We get a 404 error.
  Shared services: http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:19000/interop/index.jsp
  Workspace: http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:19000 / workspace /.
  
  When I checked the EPMServer0, Weblogic administration console is in SHUTDOWN State, tried to start it but it goes by State ADMIN instead of RACING.
  Checked the newspaper EPMServer0 to 'D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EPMServer0\logs' and found the error at the end of this message.
  
  Can someone please suggest a solution for this.

  Finally, the reconfiguration is successful.

  Yes John, the problem was with the deployment, but was not able to understand what goes wrong with the deployment.

  Tried to uninstall clean twice with the deletion of registry. Last updated variable of path by removing all entries related to Hyperion during the uninstall.

  Installation and configuration was successful after that. In addition, I did not compact deployment this time and used separate web servers to the deployment.

  Finally, Shared Services and the workspace URL work correctly.

  I had another look at it and I managed to connect.

  First I encoded the openldap root password

  Java - cp E:\OraHome_1\oracledi\drivers\snpsldapo.jar com.sunopsis.ldap.jdbc.driver.SnpsLdapEncoder

  Then I used in the JDBC url,: -.
  JDBC:SNPs:LDAP? ldap_url = ldap: / /: 58089 / & ldap_password =& ldap_basedn = dc = css, dc = hyperion, dc = com

  In the user login, I entered
  CN = root, dc = css, dc = hyperion, dc = com

  The password has been left blank

  Hope that answer your question, I'd be curious to see what are your next steps with the ldap Protocol.

• Cannot run OpenLdap and shared services

  I'm under hyperion 9.3.1 on windows server 2003 and MS SQL server 2005 as DB. I use Virtual PC and I have the habit of creating a good running system backups. When I am trying to open the Shared Services, the message is delivered as ' * user: Admin not found ".". " * I tried from OpenLdap in services, it says «windows cannot start OpenLDAP...» ». I checked the logs under Shared Services - > 9.3.1-> OpenLdap-> Exec.log and its says ldap_bind: can't contact LDAP server(-1).
  
  I tried to configure shared Services and deploy the same message, but it is: user: admin not found.

  On the issue of not to see planning applications, have you tried to reconfigure the part of the web server for the analysis of reports & in the configuration utility, you probably have to do if you have set up the planning after reporting & analysis

  What do you mean that you can not access the financial information? You must create a report by using the financial Studio of Reporting client, then save the report in the workspace.
  The report is then available via explore in the workspace.

• Shared services registration failing when configuring EPMA 11.1.1.3

  Hi all, I am currently woking on essbase and any knowledge of planning so tried to update my knowledge. I installed epma 11.1.1.3 on workstation to VMware windows 2003 that I have windows 7 laptop. oracle 10g installation created a user/database (epma) patterns (sm, ms) is trying to set up the foundation, essbase, planning and reporting and analysis services. the configuration database and register with shared services has failed. I'm doing something wrong. I followed some configuration documents that are documented with screenshots are still unsure as to what I do. Please advice on how to avoid these failures.

  Hi Srinivas,

  I suggest you to do separately from the configuration of the different components. First you configure shared services and continue with the other components.
  And also using the same relational database for all components is not recommended.
  Doing so will make you empty the things about it you give and would be easy to fix too.
  And I'm sckeptic on your database connection.

  Few things to check before you start the configuration.
  1. check are you can connect to the database on firewall problems.
  2 and also check the timeout values defined for the database.

  Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

  You use the Windows Media Player network sharing feature?

  If you use this service while the service is required to operate to check computers or network devices with which you share your music. This service also index/updates of the library that is shared.

  If you do not use this service and still is using the CPU you can change the type of start up manual (which is to be launched by the user).

  To disable the service temporarily

  1. opening the Services Control Panel, or type services.msc into the start menu search/run box.

  2. double-click on Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, and then change the service to Manualstartup.

  This has now disabled temporarily the service unless you manually start the service. You can restart the computer and check if the service has been stopped and the CPU usage was down.

  Both strange, I get a message telling me that at least 1 cpu runs at 100% usage and that the Windows Media Player network sharing service is responsible even if Media Player is not running.

  If you do not normally share media with other devices or on a network, I would recommend that you turn off Media Player Network Sharing Service .

  1. open the Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services.

  2. in Services, scroll the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service and double click above to open it.

  3. click on the stop button. In the drop-down menu Startup type , click disable .

  4. restart the computer for the change to take effect.

  Let us know the results.

• Essbase server showing in Shared Services, but displays do not when you try to assign roles to groups.

  11.1.1.3 version

  SSP Essbase server shows but for all groups roles has beed deleted.

  When I try to re - assign particular group roles, I realized that Essbase server does not show in the left pane.

  This means essbase struck with Shared Services? If so can you please let me know the steps to register again?

  I know to remove the instance Essbase Shared Services and new Externalize user will do, BUT can you please let me know y at - it problems doing?

  In the morning today only we are facing this problem.

  Problem has been resolved. Worked with Oracle and review Essbase.

  It is corrupt and possibly RDBMS openldap.

  Solution: Manually (via MaxL) has deleted all requests for services shared and deleted essbase server then outsourced to the users to register with Shared Services.

• How to create users in bulk in Hpyerion Shared Services Console

  Hi all

  I need to create users in bulk in the Shared Services Console. Since I have many users, so I don't want to use Front End. Instead, I prefer to download a CSV of things sort.

  For this I export the console shared services and open the file Users.csv.

  Now my plan is to add all my users here and then going to import this backup of the Shared Services Console.

  The only point where I am confused is that how should I indicate the passwords encrypted in the file Users.csv and also what should I write in the column "internal_id."

  If you use LCM and native users then you should be able to enter a uncrypted password and when it is imported, it must be encrypted.

  Leave empty internal id column for new users, by creating a new test user.
