Hello
I have my server booted from a CD that has been created as bootable (it contains the necessary drivers for the RAID configuration).
Now, I put my Windows Server 2003 CD in the drive. I need to run the repair utility because my system does not start on its own. Trying to get into safe mode, it hangs.Can what commands I enter from the CD to start the repair?
Also, if I run the setup of windows - it erase all my info and settings? It will install properly if I have two hard disks with a RAID configuration configuration?
Thank you.

I'm in a difficult situtaition here. I am the daily contact with a new client. My linux guy, who is also my boss who is very busy, asked me to do some research trying to find answers for what's not on this server. We have a dual Quad Core 2.5 Ghz Lenovo server with 10 GB of ram. 2 500 GB hard drives are Raid 1. We run Virtual Server VMWare 2 on a Debian with Gnome installation as a user interface for the side of things Linux. Grub is the boot loader. There are two virtual machines running on the server. The one machine that serves as a domain controller is a Windows SBS 2008 Server 64 bit, and the secondary machine has no responsibility domain. The second machine is a Windows Server 2003 32-bit. the 10 GB of ram 6 GB is allocated to the SBS server and 4 GB to the 2003 server.
The problem I am running into is that everything is so slow, especially if I connect remotely to do any sort of administration on the network. Some examples of issues I've noticed is that as soon as I log on the server via Remote Desktop SBS console management Windows Server spike to 80-95% CPU usage and it will not stop unless I close the management console. Another instance is that if I open Backup Exec 12.5 on the SBS server it will kill the speed of the processor as well. Long story short, there are a lot of machine to do what we need to do, but something is not configured right and non of us know what it is. Another point to note is that the server has been in production for about 3 weeks, and the server seemed to have locked up just twice. My professional guess is that over time, some chose thing is eating causing the crash of the memory.
Sorry I do not have much technical insight on this topic, but this is the best I have to offer. Any questions you all have, I'll ask my people and see if I can answer, but I could really use your help here.
Thank you in advance,
Heath
2 things:
1 you really need hard drives more than 2 in a RAID 1 for proper performance under load. More disks the better. Although I don't think that's what your problem is, he'll probably be the problem Next you will do.
2. I don't know exactly where the configuration file is on your box of Debian for VMware Server, but you should consider adding the following options in the configuration file (on windows, it's the vmware 'config.ini'):
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100".
MemTrimRate = 0
sched.mem.pshare.Enable = "FALSE".
mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE".
If you do some research, you can read about what these options (the largest is the memory page sharing - it should only be left on if you have a bunch of similar virtual machines running on the same box, that you don't have.) I honestly know why this is on by default, he kills the CPU when virtual machines are running different operating systems). These are the options that I now use standard in VMware Server deployments, with huge performance increases after you have added the. Just give a try.
Edit: Also make sure that you have installed in your virtual machines VMware tools.

Recovering data in Windows Server 2003
We have in our site Office Windows Server 2003 is installed on DELL Power Edge 1900 with three 250 GB hard drives and RAID 5 configured
In this server, we have folders that have been shared in the office network. One of the hard drive is faulty, and also the operating system crashed with Nt kernel file corrupted.
Data recovery utility was executed after the completion of the process Windows Server 2008 has been charged to view the folders. All the data are not seen in the records.
Is this because the file system of the server operating system two (2003 and 2008) is different and if the records are not available?

application of 32-bit VC ++ does not style xp on windows server 2003 x 64
I have an old application VC6 and I turn into VS2010 and add style xp by using Add following code to stdafx.h
#if
_M_IX86 defined
#pragma
Comment (linker, "/ /MANIFESTDEPENDENCY: \" type = "win32" name version = 'Microsoft.Windows.Common - controls ='6.0.0.0 ' processorArchitecture = "x 86" publicKeyToken = '6595b64144ccf1df' language ='* '-"")
#elif
_M_IA64 defined
#pragma
Comment (linker, "/ /MANIFESTDEPENDENCY: \" type = "win32" name version = 'Microsoft.Windows.Common - controls ='6.0.0.0 ' processorArchitecture = "ia64" publicKeyToken = language '6595b64144ccf1df' ='* '-"")
#elif
_M_X64 defined
#pragma

#endif
The application is 32-bit app and it works fine on my windows xp (xp style display), but when I run the application on a windows Server 2003 sp2 x 64 it doesn't show xp style. The Dependency walker tool shows it load C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_5.82.3790.4770_x-ww_A689AB02 comctl32.dll, it seems that this is the reason why it shows old style b/c that v5.82 is the latest version in this win Server 2003 but in my xp there is a C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.2600.6028_x-ww_61e65202. so the question is to know how to show xp style for 32-bit application on x 64 windows Server 2003? It is able to repair this installation a version 6.0 or later x 86 comctl32.dll in x 64 windows 2003 Server? and if so how do I install the comctl32.dll file?
Thank you
Marvin

VDR - backup of a Windows Server 2003 virtual computer crashes by 59%
Hi @ all
an a hook two Windows Server 2003 virtual computer to 59% during the backup. Shell DataRecovy show no errors. The first two weeks it worked perfectly. 7 days, it blocks every time to 59%. All other virtual machines (Server 2000/2008, Linux etc.) work well. I tested with a new backupjob, new backup destination, the off vm, bur whenever it crashes at 59%. I hope that someone can helpd me.
VDR 1.2 was released yesterday, and this issue should be addressed by this version.
Data recovery backups fail to advance at the beginning of the task
In the course of the incremental backup of a virtual machine, data recovery would not make progress and the backup appliance afficheraient 100% of the CPU. This situation persisted until the reboot of the device. Even after restarting the device backup, no progress was made on the incremental backup. It was the result of using the information about the last backup backup to create a new backup.

Upgrading to Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
I buy a Satellite M30x and for work, install Windows Server 2003. But the two devices was not recognized (PORT COM, SERIAL PORT?), no driver has been found. Someone has an opinion to solve this problem. In Device Manager, there are 2 system device Base System (?).
Thank youHello
I think Toshiba does not support drivers for Windows Server 2003 for all laptops!
So the only thing you could do is to try the drivers XP (utility chipset) or search the net en some drivers available!

Satellite A200 - Installation of Windows Server 2003
Dear Sirs,
Recently, I bought a toshiba Laptop which has Vista Home Premium operating system. In the free space on the hard drive, I intend to install Windows Server 2003. When I insert the CD, the "install Windows Server 2003" is disabled. It does not run the application installation, and as such, I couldn't install this operating system.
I even tried to start the insttallation put the DVD drive as a boot preference. Still it I cannot install the Windows Server 2003 operating system.
Can someone help me in this problem. I wanted to install the Windows Server 2003 next to the Vista operating system.
Thanks in advance.
Rama> When I insert the CD, the "install Windows Server 2003" is disabled
What do you mean by people with disabilities?You are not able to boot from the CD?
In these cases, please press the C button immediately after switching on the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
Alternatively, you can try to press the F12 key instead of the C key. This should allow the start menu. Then you could choose the STRANGE as boot device and might try to boot from the CD-ROM Server Win. -
Satellite A200-1BJ: Windows Server 2003 need display driver

300 hard drive space is divided into two partitions:
C - Vista with Go 138
D data disk seen 139 GKI installed windows Server 2003 on the D drive. However, the hibernation and Eve features do not appear in the windows server 2003 OS. According to the Microsoft articale, these two functions becomes active only after the installation of the correct display drivers.
My computer is the "Mobility Radeon HD2600" display device. I search all over the internet and also interviewed via e-mail at ati.com (the manufacturer of this device). I could not the device driver compatible for Windows Server 2003. According to the ATI support staff, I need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop is Toshiba himself.
Can anyone provide me the site or the software driver for "Mobility Radeon HD2600.
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards.
N. Rama Krishna PaiHello
Are you looking for the drivers for Windows Server 2003?
Well, I think you will find all the drivers Win Server 2003 because this drivers don t exist.Win Server 2003 operating system was designed based on windows XP.
So usually the drivers Win XP should work!Furthermore, as you are probably aware that the Win Server 2003 operating system is not supported by Toshiba you need to search on sites of third 3rd ATI graphic driver.
Maybe a site www.omegadrivers.net might help you.
But note; 3 third party drivers can be installed ONLY at your own RISK! Why?
Because these drivers have not been tested and so no one can tell if the laptop will run stable and will work properly after installing these drivers. -
Quosmio G20-106: issue of Windows Server 2003 and the Fn keys +.
I installed Windows Server 2003 on my Quosmio G20-106.
After I installed all possible drivers and saving Toshiba download area, I have still 3 features in the "Other devices" section: eHome Infrared Tranciever, network card and the PCI device.
In addition, Fn + keys do not work, I can not change the brightness.
Any ideas?
Hello
Well, as far as I know the Qosmio G20 was delivered with Windows XP MCE.
I found the drivers on the Toshiba site, and it seems they are designed only for Win XP and Win XP MCE. In this case, it is possible to s as the FN keys and other devices don't work.
Nevertheless, it seems to install the LAN driver and modem driver.I found on the Web from Toshiba site a FAQ How to identify an unknown device
