Recovery disks are bootable? -Satellite A300

Hello

I'm having some trouble, which makes the drive recovery (see http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=38328&tstart=0), but the main file burned on the disc is a + 1 GB * '.exe' * one, I'm starting to wonder if the discs are really should be bootable... After all, you would + usually + require an envionment windows to run such a file.

Maybe the files required to "run" this .exe are supposed to be in the part of the disk bootable?

Thanks in advance.

Hello

I put t know how you burned the recovery disk, but you should probably use the Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool.
This tool burns the image of Toshiba and creates the bootable recovery disk.

Yes, the is and bootable recovery disk if you want to start the recovery procedure you must boot from it.

    Hello

I agree with the codes for the TDKs are not bad and I had a very good experience with these media.
I tried to burn the recovery disk using another brand and I've damaged 3 DVD + R discs
Then I went to the TDK DVD - R and it is ok

I think that questions is related to the question of the compatibility between the discs and the STRANGE...
So it of really worth to test different media!

    Hello

As far as I know older Toshiba laptops have been delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and the CD tools & utilities.
Due to the size of the image large image was installed on 2 s recovery CD
All CD s are marked and it should be easy to recognize the good CD!

It seems that you've lost the first game of the s recovery CD and that is why I would recommend contacting the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country and order the first recovery CD!
It s should not be expensive ;)

    Good luck

  • Creation of recovery disks on a Satellite Pro L300 running XP pro

    Hello

you want to create a recovery disc for my Satellite Pro L300. Operating manual provides instructions for Vista but the machine comes with XP Pro.

    Can anyone help?

Can you please send the exact model number? I just want to check the specification.

Anyway, as far as I know this model was supplied with preinstalled VISTA 32 bit BUSINESS and WXP recovery DVD. You always have this DVD?

I m not 100% sure, but I think that WXP had no option for recovery disk creator. The whole story started with Vista.

  • I can add a hard disk in-house Satellite A300 - 20 p

    Satellite a300 20 p has 2 slots for HDD
Can I add another next to the existing one?

    Hello

You can check it out yourself.
There should be a second HARD drive Bay.
Remove the second HDD Bay cover and check if there is a disk (PIN) connector.
If you find not all connectors so that would mean that a second HARD disk controller is not available and the 2nd HARD drive usage is not possible.

    See you soon

  • Windows 7 recovery disks are corrupt

Let me start by saying, the advice of HP have no help and I take the blame at their feet.  Hard drive of my laptop HP G71 is eventually died.  When I bought the laptop, it came installed with Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit.  I followed the instructions during the installation and created a set of recovery disks.  I was only allowed to make ONE set.  I backed up my data religiously.  When the hard drive is dead, I bought a new used my recovery disks in the Recovery Manager about 30 times.  Each disc would go for about 20 minutes, and then I would ask for the next record.  In the end, remove screen said all the disks and reboot to the recovery to continue the restoration of the system.  After the restart, message "no boot device", then reinserted first recovery disc and it began all over again.  The people of HP forum said my a set of disks has been altered.  Now I ask people, how to get back my FULL windows 7?  I guess all computers with pre-installed software should come with the drives, but they are no longer.  Furthermore, I'll send this to my G71 using a repair/reinstall dvd that I bought on ebay.  Repair/reinstallation asked my microsoft product key that I got off the sticker on the bottom of my G71 and repair/reinstall it over.  It has worked very well, but it is a watered-down version of Home premium extremely rich, that I used to have, and more this morning for the first time, I received a message that says "the key to Windows 7 Home Premium is not valid for activation".  I want to just my old windows 7 back.

    Hi Kathy,

There is a possibility that you correctly typed your Windows 7 activation key. We suggest you try to re - enter your product key to activate your new Windows 7.

  • Re: Using Recovery Disk with portable Satellite

This laptop seems to have a virus that passes without being detected by Windows Defender and Avast.
After about 10 minutes, everything slows down, and sometimes the screen turns off. Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to make something happen.

So I figure it of time to use the recovery discs that I did when I bought the computer - about a year ago. I thought that by putting the recovery drive #1 DVD in the drive and reboot it would start automatically (Windows Vista). But nothing happens. So, how can I reload the operating system from the recovery disk?

Best Buy wants $200 to do, but I would do it myself. Help!

    Hello

    It is easy to do:

Start your laptop and press the F12 key repeatedly Boot Menu will appear
Put recovery media in the optical disc drive
With the help of the arrows (UP/DOWN) select the CD-ROM drive, and then press ENTER
Installation will start and please just follow the menu on the screen.

Please let us know if everything was OK.

Well buddy. You mad a big mistake, you must have created the first recovery disc before you changed or deleted something from the disc.

I put t know whether you will be able to use the option of HARD drive recovery, but try to press F8 key immediately after you have switched on the laptop.
Usually, the menu should appear and you should choose the first option called repair my computer and then Toshiba recovery.

Well, if this is not possible then you have no choice as to order the recovery of this site disk:

  • Question on recovery for Satellite A300-15 b DVD

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-15 b, bought almost 2 months of age. I created a DVD using Toshiba Recovery DVD Creator, as mentioned in the manual recovery. The question is, I created this months DVD 2 when buying and I used Notepad for this period. My recovery disk would be identical to a recovery disk created just after the purchase?

Content of my recovery disk doesn't include any setup I see makes me think I could you created a wrong. Can I use this disc to re - install Vista assuming that I am currently using Windows XP?

And how many recovery disks are required for this model of Toshiba? I have only one.

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

    Kind regards..

    > My recovery disk would be identical to a recovery disk created just after the purchase?
The recovery image is always the same. When you use the laptop will have always the same configuration, the same that you got after it for the first time.

    > Content from my recovery disc doesn't include any setup I see makes me think I could you created a fake. Can I use this disc to re - install Vista assuming that I am currently using Windows XP?
Because the installation cannot be started under the BONE, or in a sort of DOS mode, there is no setup.exe. Just put the recovery in the optical disc drive disk, start your portable computer, press F12, choose the CD/DVD drive, press ENTER and follow the menu on the screen. You can now use what you want. After the use of DVDs, you'll plant more recovery settings, even you got after it for the first time.

    > The recovery discs how are needed for this model of Toshiba?
This issue is understandable to me. It usually depends on media that you use to create a recovery media. Simply follow the instructions for Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. It may be that you need two DVD-R virgins.

Suggestions this is appreciated please? I was thinking of buying the recovery disks would be a solution simple but should I give in and go to a professional now?

    Thanks, Paul

I assume you are using recovery discs that you created using Toshiba recovery disc creator tool, right?
It seems silly now, but something went wrong and I m afraid recovery disks are now useless. It turns out that you can't change anything or force the cell to the recovery image installs successfully.

The only thing you can try is - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm
I don't think this will help, but you can test it in any case.

    Now, you have two options:
-for the restore disc original order from Toshiba
-install the clean version of the OS by using the Microsoft installation disc
