  All create the VM from the base VMDK file will have their own delta vmdk file that will refer to the same base VMDK file. Only changes that are performed on each virtual machine are saved on their respective delta vmdk files.

  What you are referring is called Clones related, in the current VI API, there is no method that supports this feature. You can take a look at CloneVM_Task() http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vc-sdk/visdk25pubs/ReferenceGuide/vim.VirtualMachine.html#clone if you want to implement a full clone and this will require you to have access to vCenter.

  In the next version of vSphere, vSphere SDK THAT will provide a way to implement the related Clones and it will be a parameter you can specify CloneVM_Task() , more precisely in the VirtualMachineRelocateSpec where you will specify diskMoveType to createNewChildDiskBacking

  You can find more information once vSphere of GA and the new QAnywhere VI documents are released, but if you are looking to implement related Clones today, you can take a look at the product of VMware View 3, which provides support for linked Clones or you can take a look at two scripts that I wrote which creates linked Clones similar to that of the view :

• Cropped Image repositioning on the new background Image

  I have cut out a person from a photo and you want to put on a new background picture.  I have both the cutting out and new background in the form of layers photo.  But the person cutting appears floating in the air when the background appears behind her.  How do the person cutting down the image so that the person is standing on the ground?  Resizing of things seems to influence the layer the background layer and cutting and I don't want the background layer to change the size.

  Select the cutting of the layer (highlighted in the layers palette), then select the move tool from the top left of the tool palette.

  Hold down the SHIFT key and drag one of the corner handle. You may need to darg repeatedly reduce the size. Then place the cut where you want.

• Change the default color profile in the new Document Image?

  I looked and looked and even google.  Someone knows how to change the color profile by default when you start a new image file?  In CS5 mine default sRGB (under Advanced menu drop-down) but my CS6 is ProPhoto RGB, which means I have to manually change almost every time I paste an image copied right click in a web browser.

• Put the new image into an existing project

  I need to replace an image I used a transition. This image will be hoisted from the side of my start page for my home page.
  Originally I've done everything the way I wanted then duplicated the State then I moved the items that will be shipped on the page or sunk into the page etc...
  but now the new imported image is only on a State. If I copy the image of the main report and paste the image to the start State and try to transition the image gets only a fade out selection in the timeline panel. Even if I move the image it will go away though. I want to steal the picture from the side.
  I think what is happening is that the image is more "linked" between States so he doesn't know where the graph begins and where it ends.

  Hi Curtis,.

  The transitions are between the same element (or "instance" to be fancy) when it has different properties (such as position, size, opacity, rotation, etc.) in different States. When you import an image, you create a new item in the Art Board. If you copy - paste, you create another element.

  If you want the same item to appear in several States, right click and choose "Share of the State" and the State you want it to appear in.

  There is also a "do this even in all States ' which makes an element have the same look in all the States present in.

  For your specific case, however, you are already working on an image, so you need to just change the image to have a new source of transitions. Click on the image that was previously working, click on the 'source' in the Inspector properties (at the bottom right), and you should have the ability to change from your image.

• O/s do not recognize the new disk capacities

  I upgraded my gateway laptop hard drive of the M series to a larger disk. I got the new drive image so everything, including OS vista family premium is now on the new drive. Everything works fine, but the new capacity of the new drive does not appear in 'my computer '. The new drive and ability is recognized by the BIOS but it is not recognized in disk management and as I said in my computer. So, I have no access to the entire disk. I upgraded from 160 GB to 750 GB.

• We have no new free images (Adobe Stock subscription)

  Hello. We have a problem with the new free images in Adobe Stock. Apparently, we don't get new pictures. We have the small subscription with 10 photos per month. We bought a photo in August and now (September 19) we have just 4 pics left. In my opinion, we should have at least 19 pictures (10 pictures for September and 10 pictures for August 1 purchased).   You can save the menu 'Image-duplicate"to make a copy of the entire image without registration of the size. If the doc doesn't have only one layer, you can also save the context menu in the layer panel to duplicate the layer to a new document. The size is not saved.

• View Manager 4 - can't see the base image

  I have observed that the column "Core Image" (and "disc of the user) is visible in the tab"Office Sources"with persistent Office pools. The pool you are looking at is maybe not persistent.

• Re-installing Lightroom on the new laptop, keywords from images! (I think!)

  I use Lightroom 5.2

  I spent several days it is has updated all of my keywords in LR using my old laptop. I have about 8 000 image files, mainly RAW CR2 files, all recorded on a disc toshiba external hard.

  Now I have a new laptop and reinstalled LR on this new laptop computer. I'm starting to import all image files in LR since the external hard drive, but I noticed that there are no keywords in the version of LR installed on the new laptop.

  I perhaps foolishly assumed that when I keyworded all files first time round the metadata would be saved in the CR2 file itself, such that it would be accessible by other applications, or, in this case, by a version of LR installed on a different laptop. This doesn't seem to be the case.

  I'm doing something wrong? Are there key words, but I can't see them somehow?

  I really don't go back through 8000 files and re - keyword all, it took me days!

  If all this fails, can I go back to the version of LR on my old laptop (which I still have) and somehow join keywords in files on a more permanent basis so that they are recognized by my new laptop, or are what I'd need to set it as default when first, I realized the keywording exercise?

  Your keywords are in Lightroom, more precisely, they are in the catalog file. You must transfer the catalog file, as described in the link I provided. Import photos is not the way to do it.

  Try to select Reset for iBooks Store on the file Menu in iBooks author before exporting it to iBooks for iPad you.

  If you deleted the folder "Old data Firefox" you have not the ability to restore your previous profile data.
