  • (Redirected) Latitude E5540 flickering screen turns white of greysih and turns off

I have a Latitiude E5540 refurbished which are recently out of warranty. While using it last night, my screen started flashing, the colors changed, the text seemed blurry and multicolored (almost like double vision) and the screen faded to white greyish and is now white. I turned it off, tried to reconnect, but the screen was still a grayish-white.  It was the first timme anything like this has happened.

To operate normally once again I had to unplug the power supply, remove the battery and press the power button to discharge the laptop. When I installed the battery and plugged to the power source, I could connect normally and use it without incident for a while but the same problem happened again and I have to go through the same process to make it work again.

Since yesterday, whenever I use it, the same problem occurs.

Can someone help or give me help with this question

I turn on, the screen shows Dell logo as he begins, then it goes to recovery error Windows, then Windows boot manager who told me that if I did not contact sysadmin etc startup disk.  It displays the status: Oxc000000f, whatever that means.  I hit the Enter key, and it brings back me to the recovery of Windows that won't let me do anything.  For information about the Windows boot manager he also says: the boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible. I ran diagnosis complete and checked everything as being correct.  So, basically, I can't go past these two screens.

  • Entry followed FAQ

Dell sells its laptops having the possibility to follow Jack off. This means that you do not hear an audio signal via the mic or line-in jack, even though you can hear when back you the recording and record audio.

On many older models, a change in the Windows registry will allow a monitoring and allows you to hear the audio in real time. On laptops with a modern version of Windows, simply use the listen tab.

There are 7 different sets of instructions below, categorized by operating system, processor and audio drivers:

    1. models with Windows XP and an Audio of Sigmatel STAC 975 x chip

2 models with Windows XP, Audio of Sigmatel STAC 92xxHD chip and a Sigmatel driver released before the 04/12/07

  • Windows 7 x 64 not acquire DHCP lease

    Hello

I have a Dell Latitude 6400 running windows 7 64-bit on an Active Directory domain. The operating system is fully patched.

    Network cards:

    • Intel 82567LM Gigabit network adapter
    • Intel Wifi Link 5100

Both running the latest drivers downloaded from the Intel site

The wired adapter to get a DHCP lease if connected when the laptop starts - up. If I unplug the network manager and taken in another, or even drive, windows will not obtain a lease and that the connection is considered as identified.

The DHCP server is running on a windows 2003 domain controller

In my tests, the second thread is on another network, attached to an active small business BT ADSL with DHCP router. My Windows XP machine acquires leases DHCP from the router without problem. The Windows 7 machine only works with this router if a static IP address is provided

The first head of the network is connected to a cisco switch, the Windows Server 2003 domain controller /DHCP is connected to the same switch.

If the wired adapter has a lease, and I turn on the wireless adapter, it gets a rental contract.
If the wireless adapter is turned on when the cable network is unknown, it does not get a rental contract.

I've seen other threads where people have suggested

    • Reset the TCP/IP stack
    • Disable the IP assistance service
    • Allowing the DHCP traffic through windows firewall
    • Disable IPv6 on all maps
    • Disabling QOS on all maps
    • Disable the DHCP broadcast flag

None of these suggestions have worked.

Can anyone help? If we cannot solve this problem my organization will not migrate to Windows 7 in a hurry.

    Thanks in advance.

A GPO is to control the settings of the firewall, on and off the field. The following is defined in the parameters of the standard profile (off-field):

"Prohibit unicast to multicast or broadcast requests responses' enabled.

This should not effect broadcast DHCP messages, but he apparently did with Windows 7.

As soon as this is off my computer gets a DHCP lease.

  • Mode long incompatible virtualization platform? X 64 laptop computer intel

    Hello

    So I built a x 64 bit win 7 for a Tablet image and I want to run as a virtual on my work PC, it's a Latitude 6400 Core 2 duo 2.4, I have win 7 X 64 installed on it.

But when I try and either build a new x 64 machine, or try to load this x 64 vm, I made the Tablet, I get this:

Software virtualization is incompatible with the long mode on this platform. Long mode off. Without the support of the long mode, the virtual machine will not be able to run 64-bit code.

    What is going on?

All virtualization is enabled in the bios of the laptop.

    Help please!

Your BIOS is limiting VT to trusted execution environments, and it is unlikely to have.  Try turning off "execution of trust" and power cycling the system.  See also troubleshooting problems of Intel VT - x.

  • (Redirected) its low on Latitude tablets 10 - missing option loudness Equalization

I have a Tablet 10 latitude with Windows Pro 8.1 on it, the sound is very low at full volume.  On my laptop, I just went into levels and clicked on the legalization of the volume and it solved the problem, but my Tablet has no option on the tab levels, with the exception of a volume slider which is all the way to the top.

  • (Redirected) Laptop computer runs too hot - Latitude 15 5000

We recently purchased 6 Dell machines. 3 who are Latitude 15 5000 with the Intel core processors 5.

When we arrived the new laptops, we went immediately the OS to Ubuntu for latitude computers. Two of them are quite good, but one of them is running unusually hot.

It takes only 5 minutes of regular use to reach the point where the laptop is uncomfortably hot. We checked the processes running (with the 'top' command), and it doesn't seem to be anything unusual.

Anyone have any suggestions on what we can be missing. Thank you.

As you have laptops, better make this laptop in the computer Forum post here:
