(Redirected) Question 6 - beep Alienware Aurora R4

Hello

I used my R4 Aurora for 1 year and a half with no problems and one day the screen closed for 3s, and when the image is returned, Windows show me a problem with the graphics driver. I rebooted the computer and the Aurora was beep 6 Date of 6. After 5 minutes, I was finally able to start and run a full scan of the BIOS but nothing has been revealed. I've just updated the nVidia Driver to be sure, it is not from this and the computor back to work as before.

3 months later (took place last Sunday), the same thing happens again. But this time even after the update of the new last driver, the computer completely froze again after 2 h and again it was beep 6-time but the BIOS scan found nothing. Today, the computer crashes again during my game and rebooting, it freezes on the BIOS screen. After another reboot, it finally starts and I run the Dell diagnostic tool, but nothing was found.

To me, it looks like really is a problem with the RAM, because it seems completely random crashes and I do not believe that the graphics card that could affect the operating system like that. However, I would like your feelings especially on what the beep-6 means during the BIOS load? Is it possible that a problem of RAM can trigger these beeps too even if the graphics card is not at all affected?
Kind regards

  • (Redirected) Upgrade memory for Alienware Aurora R3?

Child asked more memory for his computer. I put in the serial number of theNOTE from the ADMIN: maintain the label removed by privacy policy > for memory suggestions and I guess that's old-fashioned and Dell sells more of her. The computer was purchased new January 2012. It has still all the original parts for a anniversary surprise, I want to add memory or get new memory, but I have no idea what kind? Please if you have any suggestions, it would be appreciated if this isn't overpriced. Thank you.

  • Small RAM upgrade question for Alienware Aurora R5

Hello! Currently, I have an Alienware Aurora R5 with 2 x 4GB 2133 MHz RAM sticks and am really happy with it so far!

But I would add another stick of 8GB 2133 MHz to bring it up to 16 GB, thing is, I'm not quite sure if I can simply another 8 GB stick fit into the slot XMM3 and make it work.

partly because I couldn't find any documentation on what the latency of tensions/schedules/AR are on the 2 RAM sticks of 4 GB in the pc are currently, and I think as those that are important for the upgrade of ram,

And because of this thing I found in the online manual for the R5

Seems to say that there are only 5 configuration, I can have this set in stone or is it just that they tested?

    Thanks, Saucybagel

P.S. I moved here instead of "office computer Forums (Audio, General Hardware, video) ' as advised.

P.P.S. well, positions of copied it exceeds in any case, I don't know if I can move, heh

    Hello

Yes, the 8 GB will work on the slot XMM3.

I have a Dell Alienware Aurora R3 and thought of installing a new R4 motherboard, processor, memory and liquid cooling assembly. Should be physically in terms of wiring, the ports and connectors on the back panel? The Master i/o board is different about R3 vs the R4? Look at the options to deal with the lack of compatibility of Windows 10 and the Aurora R3. Thank you

  • (Redirected) Alienware aurora r4 (end of 2011). My computer is the breaking of my gpu?

Hi, I had trouble with my r4 Alienware Aurora (end of 2011). The original gpu was a 555 gtx, but I upgraded to an hd 7970 just a few months after I got the computer. This card lasted a year and the theanks to a three-year warranty, I got a new hd 7970 which also lasted about two years before he fell. Still, I got a new card of the company, that I bought, but this time, it was an x 280 r9. This card lasted about an hour before I started having accidents. I decided to send my computer to a company that troubleshoot computers and they concluded that it was the gpu that was broken and they couldn't find any problems with my other components so they think it was a mistake to plant on the r9. However this doesn't seem to be a coincedence, and I think that there is something in my computer that breaks my graphics cards.  Only one strange thing is that my original gtx 555 works perfectly.

Has anyone else had this problem with their r4 aurora?

  • (Redirected) Is it bad start for Alienware Aurora R4 (UEFI, legacy) mode?

Recently, I made the stupid mistake of updating my bios as bios 5 to 12 because I get a new graphics card soon and heard that you must update the bios first. As planned, it was wrong and it crashed when rebooting and all-day was stuck at a black screen when starting my PC saying to choose the priority of seed or something.

Finally, I tried everything to do in F12 menu, I decided to spend the boot mode in the UEFI to legacy. He actually began after doing this and luckily my hard drive is intact, but he had some interesting things that I noticed. First of all, my HARD disk space seems to decrease slightly as I realized to my PC. Second, there was weird stuff with Alien Autopsy (not really, but it has an error message). Also it could run a little bit slower. Hard to say. It starts more slowly as well. Then, change the dangerous startup parameters, or I made the right choice? Or I just ruin my PC today?

I have an Alienware Aurora R4 running any Windows 7.

  • Alienware aurora r3 question

I bought a r3 about 4 years ago and I was wondering if I had to take it apart could use all internal parts it is the motherboard, gpu, etc. in another case or is there a problem with the motherboard being only for alienware aurora r3

It should work, but why? It's just a little tip mATX $150... not really worth going. It is MSI-clone with custom Dell BIOS.

  • (Redirected) Power Alienware Aurora R4 problem

My Alienware Aurora R4 light not after a black out home. I took it will be checked and technology, said that the power supply does not work. I decided to look for a power supply, but as I'm in Toronto, the Canada, it is difficult to find dell parts unless you buy online.

I managed to find a PSU in my town that seems identical to that on my system, but I don't know if it will work on my system.

Original Power Supply Model # H875EF-00 (that's the one that was inside the alienware aurora r4)

    I found - power supply model # H875E-00

Two of these blocks of output 875W power but there is a difference on the sticker by reading the tensions here is the difference between the two models:

    Model # H875EF-00

    INPUT AC (50-60 Hz): 100-240V ~ / 12.5 A

    + 5V AND + 3.3V SHOULD NOT EXCEED 225W

    ---

    H875E-00 model says no.

    INPUT AC (50-60 Hz): 100-240V ~ / 14A

    + 5V AND + 3.3V SHOULD NOT EXCEED 150 W

I would like to know if it is possible to replace the power supply with the model #H875E-00 in my Alienware Aurora R4. This power supply would cause computer damage or make one of the components do not work properly.

    Thanks for help you.

  • Upgrade to an Nvidia geforce gtx 1080 on an Alienware Aurora R3

I was wondering if someone could answer the question of would be upgraded to a Nvidia Geforce Gtx 1080 on an Alienware Aurora R3 or if there is no problem of compatibility or even if someone tried it and it works made me know thank you.

    Hello

Is not officially supported, but unofficially it should adapt and work (SINGLE CARD).

  • Alienware Aurora R3

I bought this Alienware Aurora R3 about 2 weeks ago. I understand that this is an older system, but I'm not an intense gamer. However, every time I turn on the screen remains black and about 30 seconds after starting only it beeps 6 times. There is no post beep either. I am completely lost and have done a lot of research and can not solve this problem. I'm running a single 1.5 GB GeForce GTX 480.

    Hello

Unfortunately, 6 with no post beeps usually indicates a video card failure. Try to test the video card with another system or another video with your Alienware system card to confirm if the card has a hardware failure.

  • Alienware Aurora r4 does not start with new graphics card.

    Hey,.

I have an alienware aurora end of 2012 I believe.

I currently have a series of 6800 AMD raedon graphics card, processor 3930 r9 k i7 and 8 GB of ram.

I recently bought a MSI gtx 970 game to replace my old graphics card. I plug this card and it even lights up when I turn on the computer, but however my pc only happens to the start screen where I get the choice after pressing F2 and F12 and then freezes and I can't do anything. I then hear 3 beeps of inside my pc and then it proceeds to a blackscreen where my only choice is to turn it off manually.

I tried to uppgrade my BIOS without much success (dident make it work), uninstall all graphics drivers from AMD, but nothing has changed.

So I'm clueless I'm kinda a noob of the pc and have no idea what could cause this and would love help to explain what happens if all goes well if anyone knows a fix.

    THX in advance :)

You you connected all power cables required PCIe 970? They are probably different config as AMD-6800. You should have 875w PS, but you might need to check that.

Probably should have uninstalled AMD Driver Suite (catalyst) before removing the card from AMD.

If card MSI BIOS a double switch, you can try another position.

    Try Mode Windows safe.

What operating system do you use? Are you running the UEFI BIOS or legacy Mode?

  • Map search mother Alienware Aurora R1

I got an Alienware Aurora R1 of the customer who was preparing to throw, as his son is off to College. Unfortunately I could not any background on his current condition.

So he came without hard drives or memory. I was able to recover 6 2 GB memory cards and place a spare inside sata drive before trying to start it.

When it turns on I get 3 beeps and a pause and 3 beeps again. He continues to cycle in this model. No video at all on any of the two video cards dual monitor.

My research indicates the beep code of 3 beeps means it needs a new motherboard.

I want to just restore this computer and give to some children. Cost isn't a factor.

    Any help would be appreciated.
