(Redirected) Windows 10 upgrade screwed up my machine

I have a Dell 8700, with provided Invidia graphics card. I made sure that everything on 8.1 Win was updated including Invidia graphics drivers.

I went through the upgrade to win 10, but the machine ended up just sitting there with the cursor of the mouse on a white screen. After leaving it for another hour, it was all the same so I turned off the machine and restarted.

At the beginning I have nothing else than the same black screen with the mouse cursor, which could move around the screen but do nothing. I decided to enter my password, what has worked and I got the office. I am OK there is a glitch on the first boot, but it should be OK now. NO, when I tried to open a program, the status bar says it was open, but nothing on the screen but the wallpaper. Through litigation, I discovered that the cursor stopped at the top right and bottom of the screen, but left it would cease for the first thumb down or then disappear the edge, there was an open window in the taskbar on the edge of windows, but I could see that the tile.

So without control, I restarted, now enter the password did not get on the desktop. another reboot and now all I get is 5 beeps at startup and absolutely nothing else. According to a post on the internet 5 beeps is failure of CMOS battery, new battery fitted - bad, still 5 beeps.

The PC has worked very well every day and I have never had any problems with her or any other update in the past and worked until the upgrade to win 10.

Anyone got the answers?

  • Xps8700 (redirect) & windows 10 upgrade

I have the Dell XPS 8700 and have tried for days to get the upgrade for windows 10.  All my drivers and BIOS are up-to-date and I followed all possible suggestions including disabling the firewall and anti-virus while trying to get the upgrade, but I can't get the upgrade.

    For my first attempt:

After the screen for the agreement and clicking Yes, I then got a screen indicating that Windows 10 could not be installed - we could not update the system reserved partition.

The next time I tried, I got the same error, and when I went to update Windows, past review updates there was a message that it failed and the information gave me the number of failure 80240020.

I do not search this number error or failure and has done everything that has been proposed and then tried again.  But 3 times now, I've tried and keep the error code 0xc1900200.

I checked and my computer is compatible - even the dell site says that all drivers and bios are updated.  I did all that I can think of to get this free update again, full.  Shortly after buying the computer, I heard about the new operating system and knew that I should have to wait to get a new computer and then I heard about the free upgrade so I wasn't worried.  But no matter what I tried it will not work.

I have checked the compatibility report and even ran it again and it says that my computer is fully compatible.

Does anyone have any suggestions.  If I could afford it, I would have gotten a guarantee longer and went to Dell about this problem (but when you're barely scraping as it is, a simple fail to find the money to buy a longer warranty)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I move windows 7 (not OE), to another machine after upgrade to windows 10?

I have a machine that has Windows 7 Ultimate installed on it, as a clean install from a CD with a code.  I upgraded this Windows 10 machine and I want to spend the nec plus ultra 7 to another machine.  How to "Uninstall" or "Turn off" Windows 7 in the computer being upgraded so that I can activate it on another computer after a clean install?

If you upgrade Windows 7 Ultimate edition free update of Windows 10, you cannot move Windows 7 Ultimate edition to another machine because the free update used Windows 7 Ultimate edition as an eligible basic license.

Only if you have installed a full version of Windows 10 license would you be able to transfer the license of Windows 7 to a new computer.

Otherwise, you will need to purchase a new license of Windows 7.

  • Vista to Windows 7 Upgrade not activate when it is installed on the bare machine

    I have two laptops.

The first belonged originally to my employer and originally had an OEM of Vista installation.  After that I bought them that I've upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium via the upgrade Vista product. This laptop is dead in a final very recently.

Also the second laptop was bought by my employer, but as bare metal (they were more able to transfer licenses of Windows). He had no OS installed. I was not able to install a copy of Vista on it (because the purchase of the laptop one did not include the disks of Vista). So that I could not transfer activation. Windows 7 upgrade-to-Vista install has worked well on the bare machine (after downloading the drivers and others) except for activation, where he could not say "you cannot use an upgrade installation."

I guess, reading a bit on this topic here, I'm out of luck on the old Windows 7 license transfer (although I'd like to hear otherwise). Even if this is the case, I need to know what I need to follow to install a version "authentic". I don't want to build the machine from scratch once again, if I can avoid it - it was very tedious. I don't want to 'upgrade' to Windows 8.

He would work to install a version of Windows 7 OEM on top of the existing, or must they be installed on a naked machine? Is there a different version that works if that won't? (Special bonus question: would such a facility, if it works, make the machine that is eligible for a free upgrade of Windows 10?)

Thanks for all your comments and responses.

  • Qosmio F50-126 not supprted for Windows 7 upgrade?

I get really angry with Toshiba and Windows 7 upgrade option.
I'm really excited about the upgrade of my Qosmio F50 - 126 to Windows 7 from Vista Home Premium.
But after doing a little research on issues related to the upgrade, I burst into anger.

I went to this link [http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P50000R01.htm] to check if my phone is supported, but because I paid a lot of money for it I have it MUST have.

But guess what... IT IS NOT!

In addition to this... It says on the website that the notbook not mentioned will get "limited support"!
WHAT? my 1999 MACHINE VA GET LIMIT dollar taken in CHARGE for WINDOWS SEVEN!

That I am, I guess to do... buy another Toshiba or sue to get the money and buy a new one?
Does that mean I can't run windows 7 will be of all drivers runnin? WHAT SHOULD I DOOO DARN?

    Hi mate

Guess what? I have an older A210 home
I installed Win 7 on it and everything works fine!
As you can see it the A210 is not listed as a supported series Win7, but it should be a serious reason does not install a Win7 on it?

I didn t find official drivers on the driver Toshiba page but I could perceive my own hand, I used tools of free hardware diagnosis, which helped determine the installed devices
I took the time to learn all the drivers, but it wasn't a big problem

Thus, even your laptop is not listed in the page, you will be able to use Windows 7 and will be able to collect the necessary drivers

  • An XP activation code usable after a Windows 7 upgraded?

    Hello

I have an older office that I would like to reformat and reinstall Windows XP. However, when I bought Windows 7 for my new desktop PC, I bought the upgrade version and used my XP key.  If I reinstall XP on the old machine, I'll be able to activate with the old key, or is now invalid because I used it for my Windows 7 upgrade?

    Thank you

You cannot use a Windows XP product key that formed the basis for your installation of Windows 7 upgrade license.  The license of Windows XP has been subsumed under the license of Windows 7 upgrade to form a "full license". Carey Frisch

  • Windows Vista upgrade to Windows 10

can I switch from Windows Vista to Windows 10 one-step bypassing Windows 7, 8.1 etc.. ? For a free upgrade offer applies here?

    Hello

You must purchase an operating system to be upgraded, regardless of which path to take.

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7.

Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

Sorry, but the answer is no.

You can't install your license of Windows 7 on both computers.

  • Windows 10 Upgrade Wizard does not load.

So it is a problem that also occurs in many other programs. I'm going to click on the Windows 10 Upgrade Wizard and it is a blank white screen. No text, no icon nothing.

I trained the same frustrating problem (even left my computer on all night I slept and, in the morning, the "Windows Upgrade Wizard" window was STILL white and white and nothing had apparently changed on my hard drive).

    GO TO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Site legitimate "Microsoft", you will use the 'media creation tool' and be able to improve your "Windows 7 - 8.1" computer on site (OR) you will be given the option to install support for upgrade to a USB FlashDrive (like me) or on DVD, to upgrade your computer at a later date. "

Once you access the site, carefully read all the instructions, then click on the "TOOL of DOWNLOADING NOW" icon, then you should be on your way.

(COUNCIL IMPORTANT):  If you use a flash drive to install the program Windows Media 10 to upgrade FUTURE to your machine, make sure you use a single WHO IS EMPTY, the installation process will ERASE anything on the flash drive.  ALSO, it seems that the flash player will also be REFORMATTED in the process, so try not to "lose" a significant flash drive (like me... my "Sandisk" flash drive became a 32 GB drive after installation, which uses less than 4 GB of space on the 128 GB flash)!
