  • Reference Dell touchpad doesn't scroll in Windows 10 - Inspiron 11 3137

Updated my Inspiron 11 3137 to 10 Windows by doing a clean install.  I installed all the drivers from the Dell Support site for Windows 10 x 64, including the v19.0.15.2 Dell Touchpad Driver (A00) listed. I configured the touchpad settings as I had them in the previous OS - with 2 fingers of active scroll. It worked fine, but now has problems to win 10.

Win 10, scrolling works fine in Google Chrome and Nitro pdf reader only (I've tested, at least). In Internet Explorer, and all of the 'modern' aka 'Metro' apps, scrolling does not work. When I scroll gesture, a small roll of type icon appears but nothing happens (see attached photo).  I tried to reset the touchpad settings and I tried to uninstall / reinstall the driver, without success.

    Suggestions?

    Thank you!

In case anyone else has this problem, I solved it by installing the driver for the Touchpad of Dell for Windows 8.1. Now, all scrolls, including Windows 10 apps and Internet Explorer.

The version that works is v17.0.9.23 (A03) and is listed under 8.1 WIndows drivers.

  • Reference Dell touchpad driver updated for Windows 10 new gesture

    Hello

A new major upgrade for Windows 10 has been released a few days ago, and the update included a new gesture that allow the user to pass the workstations with 4 fingers on the touchpad and slide between the left or right to switch workstations.

This new gesture does not work on my touchpad and I guess this can refer to the current version of the touchpad driver is not yet supported in this function because other gestures as three finger swipe to move all open windows and three finger tap to call Cortana are always works well for me.

I was wondering if there is no update for the driver for the touchpad to soon, or all those were just my own question...

    Thank you!

Another nail in the coffin of XP.

    -Christmas

Even if I'm a PC 'power user' for 20 years, I have always held off the coast of evolution into the latest version of Windows. I never even touched Vista, except on someone else's computer.

I built a new computer last year. It of pretty up to date, but not particularly fast. I installed XP on it. This year, I've flattened and replaced it with Windows 7 64 bit.

Even after 4 months use, Photoshop and Bridge run much more flexible than before. I wouldn't say that it deals with images much faster however. Maybe a little. It 'just feels' faster and more fluid.

  • Reference Dell place 11 Pro - problems with the PXE boot

Before buying a large number of these tablets (11 Pro 7130 venue), I have to ensure that they can be deployed from MS Configmgr (2012). So far, I have no chance for our test model to perform a PXE boot.

Following the instructions documented by Dell here:

I have a USB dongle to Ethernet Lenovo based on the AX88772B chipset... that is supported according to the documentation. However, try to perform a PXE boot, the screen hangs on the message:

    -----------

check for the presence of media...

    on ipv4 pxe boot

    -----------

After awhile, it starts up and then hard disk. BIOS version is A14.

  • Reference Dell E6420 Quad Core overheating with nvidia NVS 4200 M graphics card

It started when I tried to use the nvidia card with Solaris 11.1.  He throws a thermal cut-out in about 10 minutes in a chest cold or hot.

So I restarted to Windows 7 and found a program of monitoring temperature CPU and a GPU temperature monitoring program.

The temperature of the CPU never changes, but if I do something that requires 3D graphics, then, the temperature begins to the North and never goes back down.  In a few minutes it will get to the point where you can either close the browser displaying a rendered 3D object or the unit will turn off.

What's the best way to handle this.  I have seen all update the BIOS, I to the latest version of 21 or using various blocks or shims to replace the fan in a dual channel instead of single channel.  No replacement should not be carried out under warranty?

    Thanks in advance,

    Alan

Repair under warranty out and replaced the motherboard and the fan.  They had to replace the fan twice for the first time, she didn't have the thermal pad for the GPU.  The other and it is now a cool laptop.

  • How do I disable touch mouse on Dell Vostro 1500 with Vista? _ I use a logitech mouse.

Cursor seems to jump all over the screen when I type. Causes

    Hello

Mouse configuration panel - look for the TouchPad settings - perhaps under the parameters of the device and your own tab
may be different (it is NOT the Scrollings tab which is for the mouse). On some, you can activate
and disable scrolling and/or define the size of the area and the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Some will have a TouchPad progam/control icon in the Notification area near the clock-
    at the bottom right.

Some models also have quick access to toggle the touchpad keys.

It was reported a problem with Dell Touchpads too sensitive - check with
Dell support and forums for known issues.

  • Reference Dell E6420 randomly not SSD detection at startup

    Specifications of the computer:

    Dell Latitude E6420, Intel Core i5 2520 M, 2 x 4 GB = 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia NVS 4200 M, 250GB HDD, Win 7 Pro 64, Bios A23

The value of operation SATA AHCI and not quick start. I have 3 of these computers. They are all out of warranty.

I replaced the original 7mm Hitachi 250 GB for the Intel 535 240 GB SSD HARD drive.

I used Acronis True Image 2016 to clone the hard disk SSD. Cloning process is very much like on any other computer.

The problem is that each cold 4 or 5 boots the computer cannot find the SSD drive. Restarting the computer solves the problem of that time. I have to find a solution. I want to sell them with a SSD and not with a HARD drive.

    I tried the things:

Update the Bios of the A14 to A23.

Put a spacer of 2mm on the SSD and of course the resettlement of the SSD.

Exchange for another Intel 535 120 and 240 GB.

Clean install of windows I knew was a waste of time because it does not affect the BIOS does not detect not things.

    Googling the problem for hours.

    Call dell?

Use another brand of SSD? He probobly won't make any difference to look at other threads.

Use a HARD drive? Last resort. I can't stand slow hard disks regularly.

Reference Dell E6420 seems to work with a Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB instead of the Intel 535 very well. Tested over a period of 3 months with no problems. Threw 535 readers intel in the desktop instead.

  • Problem with USB mouse on satellite a215-s7416

Hi all. I have had this problem since I got this computer in December. I hope someone can help me.

I've been using an optical mouse wired usb. It works for about 4-5 weeks then it loses power. For the first days I can unplug and plug again and it works again. If I change the ports that it works as well. Finally, it stops completely, in all ports. I have plug into my office and it works fine. The first time it happened that I exchanged the mouse thinking it was defective. As soon as I plugged the new mouse it worked fine. After a few months ago, I switched to another brand of mouse. I still have the same problems. I found some info on removing USB hubs and support resettlement, which worked for a few days. I've also updated the BIOS, I did not well other updates.

Anyone know what can be the cause of this? I'm going to exchange it again tomorrow and I am confident when I plug it in it will work fine.

I saw a similar problem on a desktop PC, it was caused by bad drivers of USB.

Have you installed drivers mouse Logitech or Microsoft, or any other associated USB drivers?

Try to remove those, whether they are in conflict with the mouse.

If this does not work, you can try to reinstall Windows by running the recovery (backup your data first of course: p)

  • x 8 connection distance MXI causes conflicts with my on my Dell Precision T3600 PCI slot

    Hi all

The easiest to say is that I am migrating from a x 4 MXI explicit connection to an x 8 MXI express connection and when I do I get an error on the motherboard which is unable to load the single PCI slot.

Error in WIn7 64 bit Device Manager reports a yellow exclamation point

    Device "Intel (r) 82801 PCI Bridge - 244 properties"

The error listed in the device status box: "this device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) »

Unfortunately, I need this slot machine to run a card calendar to conjucton with PXI hardware. There is no anomaly when I used the x 4 connections with virtually the same loadout except for one Exchange a PXI-5122 (x 4 config) to SMU 5122 (x 8 config).

If I leave the MXI PCIe card in but do not connect to chassis PCI slot SMU (and the fine card appear.)

If I remove the PCI card into the slot, the error still occurs.

I swapped the x 8 card and NVidia graphics card without success (the 16 x only two slots).

I photographed the reader and removed the H310 Dell PERC RAID card and charged the RAID array RAID integrated Intel C600 and still no change.

I have updated BIOS to A07 to latest A08.

I updated the Intel Chipset at the latest on the Dell Web site.

I guess that I just wonder at this point if someone is able to run a x 8 MXI express at SMU with a Dell Precision T3600, T5600 or a T7600 chassis.

NI MAX report is attached as a text file.

After much work by NI Applications Engineer Kyle K, this problem has been resolved.

I'll post the solution to this PC dependent problem here, just in case it will help others in a similar situation.

It seems that Dell sometimes uses one default BIOS quite restrictive on the number of PCI bus in these (and other). By allowing several PCI bus, you will be able to list all the devices in the sacrifice of some memory available for OS 32 bit running on 4 GB of RAM. No problem for me because I'm under 64 bit OS.

Congratulations to Kyle even if he has not posted here yet for him give real congratulations.
