Reference T420 RAM Dell - manufacturer: 0146 or P9RN2?

I'm planning to add some memory to a Dell T420 and trying to figure out the order number. The system shows it as having delivered with the two numbers 0146H and P9RN2. It's in an original Configuration for my service tag. But the system is supplied with the module of ram only 1x8GB.

0146: 1 MODULE, DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 8G, 2R, 1X8G, RDIMMS, LOW VOLTAGE
P9RN2 1 DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 8 GB 1333 2RX4, 8, 240, R, LOW VOLTAGE

What is the order number?

In addition, problems with mixture 1.35v and 1.5V on this system?

Thank you!

Fahdk,

The part number, you need is P9RN2, which is a component of the kit 0146H. You can also find a compatible here as well.

When you mix the dimm voltages, the 1.35v just will operate at 1.5V voltage DIMM. It won't be a problem by mixing, as long as the specifications match.

You can find more on the capacity of memory on page 71 here.

Let me know if it helps.

  • RAM Dell Inspiron 530 (initially 3 GB of RAM with Vista 32-bit), can be upgraded to more than 4 GB, Windows 7 64-bit?

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 with 3 GB of RAM, bought 4 years ago, with Windows Vista 32-bit.

Since then, I've updated for Windows 7 64 bit PC and want to upgrade the RAM to 4 or 6 GB.

Site Web of Dell indicates that memory on the Inspiron 530 is limited to 4 GB.  Is this true with Windows 64-bit?

I thought that with 64-bit Windows, you could spend as long as could be installed in the 4 memory locations, well more than 4 GB of RAM.

    Can someone clarify the situation?

  • Upgrading RAM Dell Dimension 4700

    Hi all

OK I will try once again to this type. The first time I tried to type this my Surface frozen without reason and had to be properly closed. OK, I'll update the RAM on my Dell Dimension 4700 and I need help and advice before I do. My Dell says it has 0.99 GB of RAM installed. I looked inside and found that there are two sticks of 512 MB of RAM. I found (2 sticks of 1 GB) 2GB of RAM for Dell Dimension 4700 at amazon.com and intend to purchase that. So when I update the RAM I get two sticks of 512 MB and replaced with new 2 sticks of 1 GB from amazon? Are there precautions should I take? (In addition to wear an anti-static wristband) Thank you.

Before you buy, go to http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner

Download and run the Crucial scanner.  This will tell you:

    • supports memory of how many are in your computer
    • How much memory is in each
    • the maximum memory that can be installed on your computer and how
    • the right kind of RAM in your computer

Do not buy crucial, but pay attention to what the scanner says that you need.

In short, if you have only two supports from memory, then Yes, you need to remove the memory that is in them to put in new RAM.  However, just because you can buy two memory modules of 1 GB does not necessarily that your motherboard will accept them.

    When replacing memory.

    See http://www.crucial.com/wcsstore/CrucialSAS/pdf/install-guides/ram/crucial-dram-install-guide-en.pdf

    • take precautions against static - touch the chassis first; do not touch the contacts of the RAM modules
    • Unlock the pliers and pull it up
    • Orient the new module properly - there is usually only one way correct to put in - and push straight down firmly, but without wavering until closing locks.
  • RAM Dell XPS one 2710 question does not start with more than 2GB of ram

Hi, I recently updated to Win10 I've taught it will be easier way for installation after upgrade fees, but the reset button does not work so I decided to return to 8.1. I copied version UEFI victory to USB and restarted the victory while pressing F2, but the computer does not restart "just black screen even no Dell logo" so I turned it off, back on and same story. Then I disassembled the pc and know that no matter what combination I do the computer not start until there are just 2 GB or less ram in slot I have 1 x 4 GB 3x2GB and 2x1GB any variation as possible, you can imagine I tried close up with the same result. If there is more than 2 GB of system ram won't start. No idea where is the problem? for 2 years this computer worked perfectly.

  • Upgrade of ram dell inspiron 5459

I bought Dell Inspiron 5459 and want to update his Kingston HyperX Impact Black 8GB DDR3L memory 1600 MHz RAM (HX316LS9IB/8). I'll add two ram (16GB total). The ram is compatible with my laptop?

If you're unsure, this specific memory of WindowCentral video I found on Youtube on the extra addition of 8 GB of RAM.

  • Question ram Dell Vostro 3449

    Hello

I'm considering buying laptop Dell Vostro 3449, I have a question about ram.

I want to increase the ram 8 GB, but the manual says it can support up to 4 GB only.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the ram is expandable? All the world does?

I know the chipset that has this laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Thanks for writing on the Dell Community Forum.

Dell Vostro 3449 takes in charge only DDR3 low voltage (DDR3L1600MHz 1.35v). It is not compatible with the DDR3 memory. This system only has a memory location and supports a maximum memory of 8 GB.

The chipset on this system is Intel 9 Series Chipset PCH (PCH - LP 9 Series).

    KMM59994019V27514L0KM

    Hello and welcome, Tarasque

It's the simplest issue with hundreds of responses on the forum. That's why forummers are silent.

Buy almost any what memory stick (!) you'll find - SODIMM DDR3-1333 PC3-10600, CL11, 1.5 volt, up to 16 GB (2 x 8), with the exception of the model 'brand' noname, even to the aftermarket. PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 memory will work if it supports 1333 Mhz, so he needs to read the stick. Don't buy low-voltage 1.35v, memory if she can't handle too many 1.5V.

  • Reference 5.1 Dell 5650 surround speakers very quiet

    Hi all.

Im a total noob at all it is so gental lol.

Ive had a dell 9150 and dell 5650 5.1 surround sound.  Ive connected everything according to the manual, but I have to hold a speaker until the ear just to hear the music.  Ive checked in Device Manager and I have a Sigmatel high definition audio codec version 5.10.0.4823 driver installed.  In the control panel all volume levels are highest and the Soundbar on the bottom of the screen is also completely clock wise.  All speaker connections are in and the 3 x 3.5 mm plugs are in the right order.  Integrated sound card is also value on in the BIOS.  I don't know that catches and sound card are works well as another set of speakers works.  I could be missing something that is an easy fix.  Any help will be much appreciated.

    This is my system:

    Dell dimension 9150

Microsoft xp professional version 2002 SP3 with intel pentium 4 ht.

    Thanks in advance

    Neil

    Hi Neil,

Dell Dimension 9150 supports a surround sound 7.1 via its embedded audio codec. He must connect the green plug to the green port, black pine in the black port and yellow pine from the speaker to the yellow port.

You will need to select 5.1 speakers in the Creative Media Audio Software and check the synchronization with the control panel option. The volume of each speaker in the Surround Mixer.

  • Checklist to upgrade RAM and rules of thumb for HP Probook 4540 s

    Hi people,

I had a 4540 s HP Probook with 4 GB of RAM (DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800). I need to know the checklist for upgrading the RAM. In alternative to the RAM slot, insert a map of 8 GB RAM to make a total of 12 GB? CPUz tells me that my current RAM card manufacturer is Hyundai Electronics. I have to choose the new RAM card from the same provider? What else should I look to the new RAM card to best it would work flawlessly with the RAM that is already installed? What else is there to watch?

    Kind regards

    Adil Khalil

Mix capabilities and the manufacturers of modules memory unfortunately is generally a step in the path to a memory upgrade failed or problematic.

If you want to have 8 GB physical memory, either delete the original module installed and use two guaranteed compatible 4 GB memory modules identical or a simple 8 GB guaranteed compatible memory module. Whatever it is. disassembly of the original module will be necessary. For best results use wel lknown memory brands like Kingston, Crucial, Corsair etc. Generic brands are generally not guaranteed compatible.

Beyond 8 GB is not supported in the motherboard of your laptop.

Source reference HP proBook 4540 s Maintenance & Service Guide. Your best bet is to buy guarteen 4 compatible

  • Qosmio F60-100 - after that upgrade RAM screen goes black

    Hello world
    I upgrade my RAM a g-skill 2 * 4 GB 1066 Mhz DDR3
    I have a Qosmio F60-100
    I am on Windows 7 pro N
I checked whether they have updated bios (the toshiba soft explain to me, that there is not an update available)
I checked if the RAM were compatible with my laptop (these have been suggested to me)

When I put the new RAM in the laptop, in "Starting Windows", the screen goes black and the fan works hard.
So I'm not able to install my new RAM.

These ram are compatible with my laptop?
    What is the problem?

Thanks so much for all those who can help you.

PS: English is not my mother tongue, sorry about that...

    Hello

According to your Qosmio notebook specifications can be improved up to 8 GB. The comparable memory modules are:
    2 GB DDR3-1066-PA3676U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3-1066-PA3677U-1M4G

I don't know that references your RAM modules but the behavior described is probably as a result of the use of non compatible modules.
