  I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade my screen 1368 x 768 for a 1920 x 1080 IPS.

• IPS-4200 upgrade to 7.1 retain current configs

  Hello

  I plan to upgrade my IPS appliances to the last image 7.0000 E4

  IPS-4240 - current worm: 3,0000 E4

  IPS-4270 - current version: 8,0000 E4

  I guess I have he's need to use the command 'Upgrade' here. (I may be first put to 7.1.0 and then to 7.1.7)

  Issues related to the:

  1. how much will the cost of my existing configurations (add Ip, strategies, TVR, listening to signatures, etc.) after the upgrade?

  2. How do I keep my custom signatures?

  Please suggest me how to do this.

  The license must remain, everything should.

  But we create backups in case it is not
  You can re - download the license file or get it online directly from Cisco using the sensor.

  The warning tells you that files downloaded using the SERVICE account will be deleted.
  This should be of interest if we have the files uploaded to the unit in this way.

  This process is also used to upgrade software base of the probe.

  V5 is a lot more about correct configurations that v4 was, which is why some things than v4 that slide will produce an error during upgrade to v5. Obviously there is something in your time zone settings that he allowed to v4, but like v5.

  A conf "sho" on your sensor v4 and near the top of the page (just after the IP addresses), check all do in the section "timeParams". My guess is you have some parts here, but at the very least, you have not defined a DST zone name. You can set everthing correctly under here by running "setup" in the CLI, and when it asks you if you want to "Change the system clock settings" answer Yes and work your way through the guests. Then try the upgrade again and let us know how you go.

  If the error persists, please cut and paste your timeParams section and we'll see what happens.

• ASA-SSM-20/40 IPS Software upgrade quesiton

  I'm looking to upgrade the IPS modules (ASA-SSM-20 and ASA-SSM-40) on two different ASA to ver 7.1 (11) E4 under this field notice:

  My question is around if traffic through the firewall is affected during this update and subsequent restart of the IPS module.

  On the ASAs, a service policy is in place that will allow the traffic in the case where the IPS module becomes unavailable.  It comes, it will actually happen during the update?

  Suggestions and comments are welcome.

  If your IPS is inline and as a whole do not open then the traffic through the ASA (in assuming an ASA standalone and do not form part of a pair of HA) will not be affected when the service IPS module reload.

  If an SAA is in a pair of HA and a service (ips, cxsc, or sfr) module fails, it will be by default triggers a failover event. (ASA 9.5 introduces the possibility to change this behavior.) The result is the same - no service interruption (Although TCP connections may need to restore if you have not configured stateful failover).

  How to check the version of idm is built within the iamge ios ips?

  The IME 7.0.2 Basic function has not changed since IME 7.0.1 you need not update if you do not want.

  IME 7.0.2 supports more sensors now (increase of support from 5 to 10 sensors).

  To upgrade 7.0.2 IME you can just run the Setup file on top of the existing version. I just make sure you close the IME before the upgrade.

  No, do not reimage system (IPS-4240-K9-sys-1.1-a-7.0-2-E4.img), which would eliminate all of your configuration.

  Just perform the upgrade using this upgrade file: IPS-K9-7, 0-2 - E4.pkgand which would automatically be updated to 7.0.2 (E4).

  However, the other returned the following error when you try to upgrade the image and recovery partition:

  The firewall that I intend to do the upgrade is passive.

  Firmware ASA: v9.1.1.

  Hi Kiran,

  You need to update the engine at it, since you cannot use the latest signature definitions without being on the latest engine.  As long as you don't see packets ignored at the level of the interface of detection, it is fine for the use of the CPU which is high.  If you start to see rejected the packages that you need to reduce the amount of traffic being sent to the probe or reduce (by clearing and retreating) the number of signatures inspection of the traffic on the sensor.

  Hey all, I have an e5420 with LG Phillips at 1600 x 900 screen.  This isn't bad, but the angles of vision are pretty poor.

  I was wondering if it would be possible to put an IPS display in.  Any info on this would be appreciated.

  Unfortunately, an IPS display will not work with Dell latitude e5420. However, you can try to use an external IPS monitors and connect it to the computer via an HDMI cable or a VGA cable.
