Register windows 7 key

I use the following command to add a key + number and change the number. It works on XP but don't EXCHANGE NOT the number on Win 7 64 bit computer:

varResult = SetKeyValue (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, "System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {8D56F968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE12345} \", "", number, REG_SZ)

If there is no way to CHANGE (VB) I'm ready to FIRSTdelete the existing key - if I had VB code to do.

Thank you.

Ed

  • 23 - g013w: Windows product key

    Greetings,

I had to reset my computer through an infinite loop at startup. Windows cannot repair itself, and all attempts by using the command prompt, start safe mode, etc. failed. So, I did a complete reset. Now, Windows 8.1 will not activate. When I get to the option activate Windows and select it, I simply returned to the desktop. I tried to register Windows via the command prompt, but an activation key is required. The key is not stuck on the computer, and I don't know where to find it. Of course, I'm dead in the water at this stage. I lost three days of work and am pretty frustrated at this point. All the tips, and where can I find the Windows activation key?

    Best,

    James

    Hello

The key is in the BIOS of your machine, please use the following tool to get:

       http://www.Belarc.com/free_download.html

When running this tool, it produced a report, scroll to the section of software management. Product key Windows 8 or 8.1 is there.

  • Update your Windows product key - does NOT (WinXP-SP3 OEM with OEM product key [currently installed system])

I am trying to replace my product key OEM "generic" with "individual" product key on the label "Genuine Microsoft" at the back of my case.
I'm preparing the machine for use by my mother - a neophyte computer - live too far away for me to provide practical support.  In the case of mus - PAH, I I I want that product key installed to match the product label "Genuine Microsoft" attached to the case key.
The system is that an already activated Windows XP Media Center with Service Pack 3 installed - with an installed OEM (?) product key:
    Windows product key: *-* - GDTF9 - B9QW7-BBVH6

QUESTION: Since I do not know if this license is a license in "Volume" or an "OEM license" it is unclear what instructions to follow...
I tried the Windows product key update tool... .on the on the system, which withdraws as 'Authentic' (Validation status: genuine) which failed (as described below).  Is it possible to replace this with the "real" product key?

Following the instructions in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/genuine/product-key for Windows XP.
    1. open Windows Update Tool product key. (file: KeyUpdateTool_enu.exe)

I downloaded and ran - with the result following (failure)

    Windows product key update tool
This application must be run on a supported of the XP operating system version.

Is there a COA sticker on the case - or a sticker to Windows 8?

Sticker even like all the other 705 Elitedesk have been ordered.

Yes - but is it a Windows 7 sticker, or a sticker to Windows 8?

Assuming it's a sticker of WIndows 7, all you have to do is to use activation by phone-

activation by telephone (call of the operator)
    Click the Start button
    in the search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and press the Enter key
Follow the instructions, but when asked what service you need the ansafone phone, don't answer - it should oblige the operator to answer, who can deal with you

  • Windows 7 key no longer works

2 years ago I built a budget system and install an OEM copy, bought from a British retailer legitimate, of W7 Home Premium x 64. I used the OEM copy only the current configuration and it has worked since purchase, up to a month. Now when I try to activate windows it tells me that the key cannot be used on this computer. I just stripped and rebuilt the computer in a new box so returned for a clean install, but the problem persists.

The one you have experience with this issue? or how to fix? I'm not about to go out and buy another copy of windows 7 to fix.

Here are the results of the MGADiag tool.

  • Windows blocked key after installing a new video card and hard drive.

I got a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit edition since the early release, purchased through Newegg. Since then, I used it on my desktop, which I update regularly. I changed the hard drives, processors and cards video several times and reactivated without a problem, but this last Friday, I installed a new video card and the DSS, and when I went to activate windows told me that my key was blocked without any explanation. I can only assume that this is because I changed my hardware configuration. My copy of windows remained only on this computer over the years. Here are the results of MGADiag running on my system.

If there is any question about the legitimacy of my copy, I have the DVD, booklet, cases, cardboard sleeve he shipped initially and purchase of invoices from Newegg on the spot.

  • Activation Windows 7 - "enter a genuine Windows product key.

My mother-in-law has purchased a new PC desktop Acer in PC World (retailer of the United Kingdom). It came with Windows 7 out of the box and worked for several months, but this week gave error on activation messages. In the computer properties screen, it says "Activation status not available".

Running the online activation tool gives the error "Windows validation has detected and repaired an activation exploit (used to prevent the proper functioning of the integrated components of Windows license)." You must activate Windows to complete the repair process and be able to use all the features of Windows. Do not worry, we can help you with that. »

Run the diagnostic tool gives us the following report. The desktop 'Build' 7601. Any suggestions?

  • Pavilion DV-6: Restore Microsoft Windows product key

    Hello

Found similar problems on the forum, however there is no passage clear to solve.

I need to recover my HP laptop, however tha label has no visible info on the windows key for re-installation of the system. Please provide how to fix it.

MS will not give you a new key and will need you to buy a new one.  See this

  • Lost Windows license key

I have an old Compaq 610 Notebook PCand the hard drive failed, unfortunately.  Can I replace the hard drive, but the Windows licesnse key sticker is so worn that I can read is no longer the characters.  How can I retrieve my license key?

Sorry, but there is no way to retrieve the PID key that was printed on the COA Microsoft sticker. Further, the key that would have been recovered since the failed hard drive now is not the same as that on the sticker. You will need to use the recovery/restoration of HP/Compaq media to install the factory OS on the new hard drive. If you do not have this media, you can be able to demand for HP business support.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Satellite C50-A-1DV - impossible to Win10 - windows serial key is not valid

I'd appreciate any help at all!

I am trying to upgrade to windows 10. I won my windows product key (authentic, same windows installed when bought new by Argos) via the CMD prompt: wmic path softwarelicensingservice is OA3xOriginalProductKey and the 10 windows update tells me that the serial number is incorrect / not valid (I type the code correctly in the update).

I try to install fresh ISO, all other methods have failed. I believe that this is due to the verification of product key.

    What is going on?

    Please read this thread:
    https://Forum.Toshiba.EU/showthread.php?83853

Your laptop has been preisntalled already active Toshiba image container system.
You must perform the upgrade (not a clean install) to get 10 Win.

Also, Toshiba does not provide the serial key to activate the systems becase the system is activated automatically conneting the laptop to the internet.

You don't give us much information about the OS. Is - this detail Windows? Where do you have a serial number? Looks like you enter an incorrect serial number (fake)

  • HP Envy 14 LR198AV: HP sold me PC with no valid Windows 7 or at least an invalid Windows product key and product ID

I bought this PC in July 2011 and it is out of warranty.  After that of being harassed at level to Windows 10 months I decided to do it, but rather than the upgrade, I did a clean install from the laptop was malfunctioning.  I read on the Microsoft site that we could do it as long as they have Windows product key for Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 that was already installed on the machine.  I wrote that down with the Windows ID (different number).

I've updated by downloading Windows 10 to a USB key and then the installation.  Seemed to work very well (I think that I entered my product in the process ID).  Now, a few weeks later I get a message that I need to "activate windows".  I called MIcrosoft after it could not activate using the ID that I and after 30 minutes on the phone they me said my Windows product ID and both are my "invalid" Windows product key  I would call HP and get this sorted - I have the original order number and Microsoft said that's all I need for HP to help me - but I am out of warranty and apparently help me unless I pay them $60.  Another alternative is to buy a new copy of Windows 10 and pay MIcrosoft money.

I am shocked, because I'm simply doing what Microsoft has been harassment to me.

BTW, the PC seems to work fine except the message to activate windows.  I guess that another option is to do nothing.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Available for the free upgrade until the end of July 2016, according to the latest rules from Microsoft Windows 10. Thus, you will be able to spend to Win 10 If you want. I'm not a fan of win 10, but if you want to upgrade to it I personally recommend the ISO for Win 7 upgrade method to win 10-

    # Download the ISO from MS site, burn it to a DVD, insert the DVD into the PC and start the process from inside Windows 7

    # Follow the on-screen instructions then

How can I make sure that the BIOS of my laptop will recognize a USB key, after that I installed an SSD in my laptop so that I will be able to use the USB to install an ISO Windows 7 Home Edition?

    Third question:

The ISO Windows 7 Home Edition will include all its drivers?

Hi MarcoPolo777, for the key, you can use a software called produkey.

I read a few threads about similar problems with the BONE key and the key change has always helped
Sometimes, Microsoft rates the key of the image as incorrect or not valid. Why? I don't know... it's Microsoft you know ;)

Fact is that the key on the cover of the CD can only be used to activate the software Microsoft Works or OneNote installed on the laptop. The key is not responsible for the Windows operating system.
The key that could be used with the Win operating system is placed at the bottom of the unit.

Well, according to your message you used this key and now I m a bit confused
I think you should make a call to the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country to clear this problem
