  you say it s always in the taskbar? Check the autostart folder? Another way may be to use the microsoft sysinternal tools to remove this reminder from startup list. You can also use msconfig, but I guess you have Vista, so it would be better to use sysint...

  This version of Acrobat has never been tested on this version of Mac and is not supported.

  I suggest that you can upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat and works perfectly. It has loads of new and improved features that Acrobat 8.

  Yes you have to make it public. Since you obviously cannot be authenticated again if you need to register, then you need to make it public.
