Reinstalling windows - factory settings

OK so this copy, I had been screwed since I got it.
Half of the drivers do not work half of the FN keys do not work
And the mouse/touch pad I gave up with it! Not that the FN key pressed to activate the touch pad out of works... but still...

No biggie I think I installed a lot of operating systems

But never without a CD and a disk partitioned
So I install my own copy of win 7 only to see s an a pc install... (Yes should have known before, I know)

Anyway how come back to finish the factory settings start the partitioned system I have and hopefully, a clean installation of the partition will be ok...

Thanks in advance! :)

After installing your own operating system, you can install Toshiba Recovery disk only installation DVD image.
You can not install from partition as described in http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

This installation of HARD drive work with the factory only settings. With the settings you repair your computer option in the advanced boot options. After the installation of clean operating system this option no longer unavailable.

You created the recovery DVDs?

  • Vista could not start in normal mode and the relocation of scores of hidden factory settings also failed.

NOTE: THE PROBLEM WAS MY POWER SUPPLY WAS LOW, NEW POWER ADAPT SOLVED MY PROBLEM.   Read more if you are interested in what happened prior to my tent a different power adapter.

Original title: vista 32 does not start

After a reboot could enter the mode safe mode with internet connection.  able to restore good boot known beforehand.  But what normal start attempt would not start completely.  tried to reinstall from hidden factory partition.  07:34 minutes, the installation progessed.  then the machine stop.  When you restart get the message "error during installation, restart the computer, and then restart the installation."  When you try to start in safe mode, get error ' cannot install frrom SafeMode ".". "  I have no bootable cd.  to know about a 'platform of recovery' still tells CD also cannot install from this cd.   can I boot from a "devils of recovery" in safe mode and use the hidden partition to reinstall to factory settings as I tried the first time?  or do I need a full installation CD to get the machine to boot?   My question is should I at this stage of start-up during installation seems to have failed?

as for what caused this problem?  I recently gave a USB external hard drive, but had not written for her.  did a chkdsk of the external hard disk without error.   When the problem was first happening, I removed the battery and the power cord of the acer laptop then pressed the power for 30 seconds to perform all memory the power button.  He got rid of a problem that I had been meet in which received start-up error message not "adapter acer". with battery removed, laptop power problems have disappeared.

as the system is now, when I try to start everything now alt F10, I get a screen that reads "change windows startup options for: microsoft windows vista ' ' path: \windows\system32\winload.exe" "partition: 2" "HDD;". " d404533e' "[/ noexecute = optin /deteecthal]"

When I press ESC the next screen "windows boot manager" bed "choose an operating system to stat, or press TAB to select a tool:

    Microsoft windows Vista (single choice)

"to specify an option fo this choice, press F8."

    "Tools:

    "windows memory diagnostic"

(diagnosis of memory showed no problem) by pressing TAB toggles between Vista and the diagnosis.

I tried to boot with external USB hard drive connected and not connected.   the touch pointer was not working, but was erratic.   Sometimes, I could use a USB wireless mouse when it is started in safe mode.   recently the media player would not charge unless I restarted.  (before the system does not at all which is the theme of this original problem).

When I try to start using f10, I get a screen that seems to ask for entry. the cursor is held after the detecthal of the line as below. What could of entry to enter the boot to continue?

    Winload.exe

    / noexecute = optin /detecthal

me. surprised... the problem was that my power supply was low.   the adapter provided enough power for the laptop, most of the time.  but sometimes for laptop needs more power that the adapter could supply... so the laptop would be closed.   When I tried a different power adapter in a store, the fully charged laptop and my problem was solved.  lost a lot of time because I didn't know that the power supply was the problem!

  • How to reinstall Windows 8 to factory settings?

I'm trying to reinstall Windows 8 Pro on my computer. The problem is this: I've upgraded to Pro 7 8 and when I go to "reset to factory settings" I get a message saying «some files may be missing, insertion of media» This 'media' am I supposed to insert? I have all my media recovery, I did when I first turned on my computer (Win 7) and I have the drive that the tech helped me to burn my Windows 8 Pro upgrade. Which one should I use? I'm trying to get my computer to where I have nothing on the hard disk, but Windows 8 Pro. In other words, I want a clean, like new, of the machine. Or would it be better to do a custom installation of Windows 7 and wipe all my hard drive, leaving only the installation of Windows 7 and download the upgrade of Windows 8 by using the product key that I bought? Facing a dilemma of folk here! If this thread seems a bit confusing, it's because I'm working on three different machines. I'm not interested in the backup of personal files or media. I just want a 'Clean' install on a single partition, if that's possible.

If I do as suggested by Abraham, he returns it back to Win 8 or Win 7?

Then, you do a reset.  Press Win - I, then click Power and hold down SHIFT while you press Restart.  Follow the instructions to reset your computer.  It will take about six hours, but everything will be back to factory settings.

  • How to reinstall a Windows 8 dell alienware aurora r4 to factory settings?

A friend of mine had his PC scammed (guy calls, said you that they are Microsoft and you are infected, enter your PC and then you lock out and ask $ money to let you back in).

Anyway, he has a PC Dell Alienware Aurora R4 (comes with) running Windows 8 or 8.1 - I don't know but I know that he has not improved/changed anything. The system came with a DVD resource (nothing else).

Now all we want to do is to restore factory default, there is nothing about this of any importance to save...

  • Pavilion 17-e019dx Windows 8 guard reset itself to factory settings removes EVERYTHING! :(

Hi everyone, I really need the helpful comments here, I m going crazy!

I bought this computer HP Pavilion 17 laptop-e019dx at best buy not long... already have a problem with a windows 8.1 update, but anyway...

I did a system restore and it is up to windows 8, fine, then all of a sudden I turn the laptop on another day, and without warning it resets to factory settings ... no account picture, no wallpaper, dates back to Bing is the default, the screen has IE search engine, File Explorer, store and office on it and nothing else... all my settings and customization is gone... but more importantly ALL MY pictures, videos, music, and all files are GONE!  SO FRUSTRATING!

After MANY hours (a few days), I was able to recover most of the pictures which is what I've really supported on most. Saved USB´s, disks and creates a new partition ¨ Local disk (D ¨ where I saved all my files.) When the system resets itself, it resets only Local disc c, so my files are in D:... I can go back to everything being the same accomplishment the thing to restore the whole system again... but 1 or 2 days later, it resets everything new and need to start as if I just opened it from its box... non-stop... very frustrating because it takes time to restore and do not know it s good to continue to do that on the computer...

Sorry for the long story, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello kcno58. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. I understand that the computer itself restores the default settings. I will do my best to help you!

You have a program installed before other troubleshooting, named 'Deep Freeze' procedures. It is a program which will reinstall the operating system, once the computer is turned on, sometimes. For more information on this program, please see this site: Deep Freeze (software)

If this isn't the case, I would make a repair of the operating system. To do this, follow these steps:

1 turn on the computer with the installation DVD or USB. Then, start Windows 8 with him.

    2. follow all the instructions until you see "Repair your computer" and select "troubleshooting."

    3. go to "Advanced Options", select "Automatic repair" and the operating system.

Now, the operating system to repair itself. Once this is done, please let me know the results. I'm only here to help!

  • Reinstall Office Suite after the restore computer to factory settings

I had to restore my laptop to its factory settings because of a corrupted registry.  The operating system is Microsoft Vista Home Premium, and more desktop I want to reinstall is Office home and Student 2007.  I inserted the disc and rises the .exe file, but it will be only to configure the system.  The applications are not installed.  Or bring it to the top of the window with the license agreement, or a dialog box to enter my product key.  I tried to run the Setup for the individual applications (e.g., Word) files and I got an error.

Your machine initially has any Office Suite, perhaps a trial, pre-installed?  Is there something in the Control Panel / programs and features, which relates to the office?

When you insert your CD it offers it the window of Autorun with the option to 'Explore' the files on the CD?  If so do you see a Setup.exe in the first visible display of the CD Explorer window.  If so do you have a better result if you right click on a Setup.exe it and select the option "Run As Administrator"?

I need to restore a laptop with windows Vista to its factory settings.  The computer was purchased at best buy and it has been implemented by them when it was purchased.  As much as I now it has not come with a Windows disc, and the owner of the laptop have not configured an image recovery 'drive '.  The owner has all the information in the laptop and he has a virus.  How can I achieve this without needing a kind of disk?

    Help, please

    Hello Roroto,

If it is a Compaq and no DVD came with her, she should have a recovery Partition factory projected onto the hard drive reinstall Vista.

Press F11 at startup to start the recovery process to factory settings.
