Reinstalling windows xp / internet problems

Just realized that said HP I hope I can always ask for help even if I have a gateway.  I recently had to reinstall windows xp and now unable to connect on the internet so I guess that my drivers need to be reinstalled as well?  Any help or information would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Hello:

The first unit is the Realtek HD audio device that needs a driver.

Accept the agreement.  Download and install the 7 listed article (a first in green).

http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1 & PNid = 24 & PFid = 24 & Level = 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & getdown = false

The second is the cable network controller.  First download listed is for XP 32 bit.

http://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y & DwnldID = 18717 & lang = eng & OSVersion = Windows % 20XP % 20 * & DownloadType = drivers

Finally, one is the modem. You can get support for your PC and driver on the link below page.  Under modem, select the first item listed, I guess it seems to be the latest date.

http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=supportnav

Save this page at a later date because she has all the drivers you need for your model.

I have provided links to the latest XP audio and network drivers available, or you can use older versions listed in the support page and the driver of your PC.

Best regards

Paul

  • Well reinstall Windows Vista - MAJOR problem...

For not giving all my cleaning stuff correctly a system, but I need help with something that makes me really mad.  It's about Vista and something weird with the file system.

I service computers to save his life, im pretty well informed and have tried many ways to solve this problem.  I do NOT consider formatting and reinstallation of a viable option.  How I reinstall Windows normally from the beginning is the same...

    FOR XP:

Demarrer start from a NTFS disk, rename all the critical road as folders... Windows, Program Files, Documents and settings, System Volume INformation, etc...  Delete all files in root folder and fresh install of Windows.  Beautiful... works great... never lose anyones information.

    ON VISTA:

Same steps, but without worrying if I boot from Vista dvd to access NTFS, or my special disk to access NTFS as I've used for years, the problem is that...

I can rename Windows, Program Files, and the program data of the road after a bit of a hassle.

I can rename users! Users and it sticks until I have install Vista and then I have a blue users and a black use.   I don't want 2 of them.  I tried a clean install of Vista without format.   If I format everything is normal.

I WANT all THE PERMISSIONS of FILES on disk INTEGER stripped of their security.  Vista has mucked up with permissions no matter what Im tired.   I stick the drive in another machine from Vista or XP, PROPERTY of FLYING another machine - it purrs the long hours just to not do anything sometimes.  I try to rename some files - access denied.   Desintination folder refused or regardless of the battery without end of the errors I get doing something simple as rename a stack of records to back/NTFS.   I don't want users crowded with all _ like...------.

    Record users:
    Dave
    Dave.000
    Dave.Windows.000
    By default
    Default.000
    Default.Windows.000
    etc etc.

and all _ that happens out there.

Very simple.  I want a tool that strips off EACH single authorisation makes all readable as if it were a normal readable by ALL leaders.

Take possession does not really work in Vista.
ICLACLS or something else that was I used the other day has allowed me to rename them, but when I reinstalled Vista it their fame users and installed over the old virus plagued by files.

So... my questions are... How can I rename all files from the road and install fresh Vista without having to save the entire disk (from the hundreds of concerts) somewhere else, the format and copy this whole mess back.

    (A) rename all files with no hassle of permission
    (B) fully to support all permissions like how XP used to work
    (C) give me a utility that removes a complete player all it's permissions and security (best solution) or at least streams how XP has worked since I never once has problems with XP that convert all files.
    (D) someone explain to me how an operating system is unable to copy same files correctly? (related to Vista) - it is slow and is not always copy everything - once more... back to permissions.  What you did MS smear filesystem up to SO bad. ???

    Hey PerryCS,

I think that the terminology that Michael used is to start, but is the correct terminology for Vista.  XP has a "repair installation" option  Vista has not just as an installation option more.  How to imitate the old XP Repair install in Vista is known as an Inplace Upgrade Installation.  So you see the upgrade is a rather unfortunate misnomer.  Inplace upgrade as installation functions where Vista reinstall it s self, writing and replace system files, so that theoretically do not damage or over writing files of program or personal data.  I hope my explanation makes sense.

Good luck and happy Locutys calculation of Borg

  • Solaine Veera - why in the computer Dell laptop, Windows 7 Internet problems occur?

    Hey,.

I'm Smayak Veera and work for a COMPUTER company in the United States.

I bought a Dell laptop for a few months now, and it is constantly with a watch "No Internet access" in the yellow icon. It is always the e-mail that I am connected but do not have access to the internet and I can not open Web pages, I own every connection and they are connected well. If I unplug the router and reconnect it works very well for 30-60 minutes but then I get the new icon.

Now, of course, I could just evey time turn off and re activate the connector wireless after every half hour but its boring and would rather it was fixed.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Waiting for your quick response.

    Kind regards

    Solaine Veera

Always include the exact model number and the version of Windows in your messages. And if it's a laptop, next time post in the forum of the laptop .

If I understand correctly, you are using a wireless connection to the router. Have you checked the Windows settings to see if WiFi is turned off "to save energy? Look in device for an entry-level WiFi Manager and double-click it to open it. If there is a power management tab, click it and look for a box "allow the PC shuts off... "and uncheck the box. Then restart.

Can the router is having issues?

Have you checked with your ISP?

  • Internet slowdown on a PC after reinstalling windows 7

Thus, as part of my COMPUTER classes, I had to show I could maintain a computer. Then I took mine apart and put back together, checked it worked then wiped the HARD drive and reinstalled windows 7 ultimate 64 bit version. It is up and running now, but the speeds I get from my internet connection is incredibly slow.

My main PC (that I'm having issues with) got up to 2 MB download speed until I reinstalled. Now, I have gone on speedtest.net and discovered that a ping takes 1074ms, I have a download speed of 0.66 Mbps and upload of 0.19. My laptop on the other hand, (both using the same network without wire in the same room on the same desktop) 30ms ping, D/L 14.97 and 0.81 upload speed. I tested it several times, making sure that the two ping the same destination, but the results are always the same.

I reinstalled the driver wireless twice, I reinstalled the LAN connector twice and I have reset the BT homehub twice again the speed didn't get closer than two days ago. I spent many hours fishing trawl a few forums looking for advice, but I can't find any solution that helped. I tried a wired connection, I used invites them to drop and to renew the INVESTIGATION period. The only thing I noticed which seems strange to me is that neither of my a IPV6 connections.

Can someone help with this problem?

    Hi, Will,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

I suggest you check out article below and check.

Why is my Internet connection so slow?

    Important notes:

Antivirus: Data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means there is a risk of data loss.

Internet Explorer: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settings. Reset Internet Explorer is not reversible, and all the previous settings are lost after reset.

When you disable the Antivirus: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attack.

Let us know the result. We will be happy to help you further.

    Thank you

  • When I reinstall windows from my dell disk, everything is great and there are no programs. Also, I can't connect to the Internet.

Good so I bought a Dell Inspiron of the 620 years for the game and I had to reinstall Windows 7 on a drive I ordered from dell. So I reinstalled Windows 7 and now I have a lot of problems. So first of all it seems very strange, the taskbar is not transparent and all the buttons are very weird. Also, there are no programs in the start menu. Secondly, it is said there is no Internet connection available, but I plugged in everything. I can also connect to the Internet on other PCs as my laptop. Any help is necessary, because I really want to return to the game. :)

    Hello

When you reinstall the operating system, you must obtain the latest drivers for Windows 7 Support of Dell.

Go to this link for your model, and then select the operating system > and then select the correct chart, drivers etc. :

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/Inspiron-620s

For network adapter drivers, you can use the computer you are about to post here to go to the link above of Dell > download and save the software drivers for the office > transfer using a Flash drive and install it on the problem machine.

Then use your game machine to get the rest.

And here's how to reinstall using a disc from Dell:

"How manually reinstall Windows 7 on a Dell computer.

    http://www.Dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/KCS/KcsArticles/ArticleView?c=&l=&s=&docid=266457

    You will need

    • Dell operating system installation disc
    • Dell Resource CD/DVD (also available on the page Dell drivers and downloads )
    • Any software and/or the documentation of your connection to the internet service
    • Any application install disks
    • All install disks for external (such as a printer) and added to your Dell devices after the purchase of internal devices

    See you soon.

  • I had to reinstall Windows - problems accessing the profile of old or existing to show all emails, I had

I had to reinstall windows. I have several drives in my computer and I copied the entire C: drive to another drive in the PC. I thought when I reinstalled Thunderbird, I could just point to profile located on the other drive... email accounts but it doesn't work.

I had multiple accounts configured in Thunderbird - accounts about 6, but just one profile. I had several records created for organizing email locally. So, I guess that he should be a both local and roaming profile with the same name? I checked my mail server web interface and there are currently approximately 105 emails on this subject. I know there are at least 500 total emails into the inboxes of Thunderbird. I try to restore those old e-mails, as well as local folders - but am not having any luck.

Anyway, with all the attempts that I did to get all the emails of my return, I think that Thunderbird has created new folders and is doing really complicated now. I don't know how to sort this out. I don't know the name of the profile that I have used before, and when I search my computer on the name of the profile, it is 22 000 + items. I'm still not able to get them all restored in Thunderbird.

Another strange thing is: in the search results for the name of the profile, the items are displayed in the results, and it has an icon Thunderbird next to them and says it's a Document of Thunderbird... but when I double-click on one of them, it will not open in Thunderbird. Nothing happens when I double-click on them. Could this be a problem/conflict version of Thunderbird? I thought my old Thunderbird was updated.

I don't know where to start to give you a hint how to help. I'm sorry.

    Any ideas?

    Please help me,

    Thank you very much!!

    You are the very welcome.

You have to have XP SP3 installed for the wireless to work right, or you must have this patch for SP 2.

The link I provided has all of the XP drivers you need.

You must select the XP operating system from the menu drop down.

  • Automatic update of Windows for my Vista Business hung on Jan 6, 10. He tried to uninstall automatically... now says that I have to reinstall Windows. Cannot access the Internet, cannot restore, can't do anything

    Ideas: How to restore?

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem
