Relative sizing of popups

Hi all

IM using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.7.0.

My problem is that I have a user interface that contains a button that opens a popup containing a taskflow region, which we cannot find a way to set the size to the size of the browser window. It seems that he cannot be given a fixed size.

Is it possible to define the size of a popup/dialog to a % or something similar? I was not able to find one any solution on google and forums.

Hello

Martin Deh wrote an article great blog on this topic

  • Automatic resizing of the pop-ups of sizing does not correctly after you convert the project RH9 RH10 until.  Any ideas?

    We went just at RH10 (upgrade came with the Adobe Technical Communication Suite 4 upgrade).  We have successfully converted four projects that had come from RH9 to RH10.  I think my only problem is that all my popups that have been configured to open it in the topic as "display in the sizing Auto popup" are open as if they were under "default page" (see image map screen below):

    Popups_Not_Autosizing_RH10.gif

    We run IE9 and Windows 7 ops system browser.  These pop-up windows worked well and is size so that we can click out of them and go back to the main topic before we converted the project.  ANY IDEAS?

    P.S. I tried already to remove the option of automatic resizing of popup display, then by saving the topic, then change back and nothing happened.  I do not change my css or the master page that popups were assigned and that worked before the conversion.

    Thank you!!  I wonder if I'll have to redo any mapping of the image to each of the popups in order to get the autosizing popups to work.  Please notify.

    Post edited by: DNCopeland I discovered another employee who has already climbed to the RH10 could open the same project and see the pop-ups that open as automatically resized for her, not as a page by default the entire window because they are for me.

    Sorry to barge here, but I wanted to pass along my experience with this bug.

    I found this automatic resizing (or custom also) pop-ups in image maps have been works well in Rh9 and broken in Rh10 in the Topic Previewer (glasses icon) BUT NOT in the real WebHelp output.

    Yes, DHCopeland, are statement that you see in the viewer section, or have tried to generate and display in actual production?

    I always test if there is no improvement after installing 10.0.1 HR patch. So far, it seems that the patch does not address this bug. I'll try another machine.

  • Resize transitions and relative size components.

    In my coding style, I tend to indicate a relative sizes (width = "50%"). It is, IMO, the best way for business-driven applications.

    Now, I'm working on a module that uses a lot of transitions (mainly resizing panels). To do this, I found that because I use relative sizing, asking instead for a Panel to grow, I have to ask the other panels to become smaller (< mx:Resize HauteurPour = '0' / >). When I want these boards to return to their original size, I can't use < mx:Resize HauteurPour = "100%" / > because resizing does not accept relative size. Instead, I use AnimateProperty to the percentHeight but who don't feel well, and the result is a bit erratic.

    So, I asked, is my programming style gets in the way my goals? Should I use pixel-based sizes in this module? I would like to hear your ideas on the subject.

    Thank you, Greg.

    I was thinking about my screen to use the layout constraint based as much as I can and I ended up with a hybrid solution quite nice. Now all transitions works very well.

    In the future, I will try to use as much as possible based constraint implementation. Flex seems to work that way better.

  • Resizing automatically and put on the page?

    On rotation, the WebWorks has no support for setting or automatic resizing in page?  Or when I get a rotation event, I need to move things by hand to fit the new direction?

    Gluth great response!

    I wanted to add a few comments of my own:

    The Web engine will automatically try to resize your content when you change the orientation of the device.  If you have a good window and as mentioned gluth, use relative sizing so it should evolve according to the new width of the screen.

    However, you can also listen to the orientation change event:

    http://BlackBerry.github.com/WebWorks-samples/kitchenSink/HTML/browser/orientation.html

    Finally, the questions from the media are supported on PlayBook and BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha.  These powerful techniques facilitates design CSS for the different screen orientations:

  • How to calculate the width for assets

    Hello

    I want to have a large image that covers the entire width of a device.

    How can I calculate which corresponds to the width I want?

    I'll probably have 3 versions, each for one of the 3 DPI settings.

    Thank you.

    A desktop application is very different from a mobile application.  On the desktop, you usually have a threshold of width/height that you know that each monitor will be at least in bulk, for example 800 x 600.  Some people design applications for just this minimum resolution and some people create applications that can grow bigger than, but in the end you basically the exact same application on each monitor.

    The story is very different on mobile devices.  The range of screen size and screen DPIS is much more important and should be taken into account.  You have cell phones that are often something like 480 x 800 in portrait orientation, but then also 800 x 480 in landscape orientation.  If you really can't design an app that can be only 480 x 480 because it's just not lots of space and all devices will have a ton of valuable space that is not used.

    Then put in the form of tablets, which usually have a screen size much more important for the provision of application you have a mobile phone often is not make sense on a tablet.  Many applications have a completely different user interface on tablet vs on the phone.

    So in the mobile applications you will want to use relative sizing and positioning as much as possible (width/height=100%, top, left, right, down, VerticalLayout/HorizontalLayout, etc.), you'll want to learn more about the options you have available in the Flex SDK kit to treat the different PPP (dpi scaling and CSS media questions), and you also need to think if your application needs to act even on shelves as on mobile phones or if the interface User should be completely different.

  • Related workflow in the dialog box / popup window and Session Timeout

    Hi team.

    Using JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.

    We have several use cases that have linked the workflow shown in dialogues.  Dialogues are defined in the workflow.  The dialogues show very well related workflows.  However, if we have a session timeout, we are witnessing the login page that appears inside the window of dialogue instead of the home page.  Any suggestions out there?

    I have the text on a command button, invoking the action of dialogue BTF.

    useWindow = "true" windowModalityType = "applicationModal.

    Thank you

    BradW

    Hello.  Digging into the issue, we had a requirement to force the user to the logon page when the session expires.  However, the Service of Dialogue rich ADF fires and wants to ask us if we want to save the changes or continue leaving the popup.  To work around this problem, we made a JS call, follow these steps:

    AdfAgent.AGENT.removeBubbleEventListener(AdfPage.PAGE.getDomWindow(),"beforeunload", AdfDhtmlRichDialogService._beforeUnloadHandler);

    So, in summary, we had created a PagePhaseListener to inject some JS in every page to make a timer based client-side redirect.  However, the Service of RichDialogue ADF complain if there are changes in the pop-up window.  To work around this problem, the timer called the removeBubbleEventListener.

    It works, I think it might be a bit fragile between versions.

  • Related Taskflow Popup and Session time-out

    Nice day.  We use JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.

    We have a case where we are launching a taskflow in dialogue.  However, when the session expires, we get a message session timeout in the main window and the popup.  When you click ok, the user is redirected to the login inside the pop-up screen.

    I wonder if anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with this?  Ideally, it would be ideal for a single message of timeout and were redirected to the login page inside the popup window that runs the taskflow linked instead of the home page.

    Thoughts?

    BradW

    Hello

    because you cannot continue with a workflow bounded when the session expires you can use a filter of servlet on the FacesServlet and when you detect an expired session, redirect to a public landing page. However, you need to make a redirect. Alternatively, you put the warning of expiry so that the user is informed the session about to expire. This is explained in the web for the ADF Developer's guide.

    For example I use tab to go from one part to another item.as I press tab to come on the next element .as control move at this point open the window side to this window, choose the value. How can I do that.

    Hello

    popU2 (url) is built in function, do not write anything...

    Suppose you want to Page 2 of your application to display in the popup winodw then you need you
    popUp2 ('f? p = & APP_ID.: 2: & SESSION. »)

    From now you just change a text element and go to the tab of the element and in the attribute of the HTML form element just enter
    onfocus = popUp2("f?p=&APP_ID.:1:&session."), and then check to see how it works

    Personally, I would have a modal dialog box with the content transmitted through variables.

    What follows is a modal (Bootstrap) which shows a YouTube video when the user clicks on a link

    and here's the JavaScript code to manage content and modal behaviour.

    // BOOTSTRAP 3.0 - Open YouTube Video Dynamicaly in Modal Window
    // Modal Window for dynamically opening videos
    $('a[href^="http://www.youtube.com"]').on('click', function(e){
    // Store the query string variables and values
    // Uses "jQuery Query Parser" plugin, to allow for various URL formats (could have extra parameters)
    var queryString = $(this).attr('href').slice( $(this).attr('href').indexOf('?') + 1);
    var queryVars = $.parseQuery( queryString );

    // if GET variable "v" exists. This is the Youtube Video ID
    if ( 'v' in queryVars )
    {
    // Prevent opening of external page
    e.preventDefault();

    // Calculate default iFrame embed size based on current window size
    // (these will only be used if data attributes are not specified)
    if ($(window).height() < $(window).width()) {
        var vidHeight = $(window).height() * 0.7;
        var vidWidth = vidHeight * 1.77777;
    } else {
        var vidWidth = $(window).width() * 0.9;
        var vidHeight = vidWidth / 1.77777;
    }
    if ( $(this).attr('data-width') ) { vidWidth = parseInt($(this).attr('data-width')); }
    if ( $(this).attr('data-height') ) { vidHeight = parseInt($(this).attr('data-height')); }
    var iFrameCode = '';

    // Replace Modal HTML with iFrame Embed
    $('#mediaModal .modal-body').html(iFrameCode);
    // Set new width of modal window, based on dynamic video content
    $('#mediaModal').on('show.bs.modal', function () {
    // Add video width to left and right padding, to get new width of modal window
    var modalBody = $(this).find('.modal-body');
    var modalDialog = $(this).find('.modal-dialog');
    var newModalWidth = vidWidth + parseInt(modalBody.css("padding-left")) + parseInt(modalBody.css("padding-right"));
    newModalWidth += parseInt(modalDialog.css("padding-left")) + parseInt(modalDialog.css("padding-right"));
    newModalWidth += 'px';

  • T3i sync high speed with popup flash?

    When shooting outdoors with a light background, it would be nice to be able to use the flash pop-up as a fill light (to the shadows on a face, etc..). However, the shutter speed is set to 1/200 when the popup flash is in place, overexpose the scene. Is there a reason why the pop-up flash can't sync high speed like an external flash to allow a faster shutter speed and always get a filling?

    Thank you

    David

    It has to do with the amount of energy is available for the flash.  A more powerful flash can more easily manage the sync high speed.

    Sync and sync high speed are related to the work the Shutter curtain on any SLR digital.  There are two doors.  A slides open, and close other slides.  The reason for which there must be two doors (instead of one) is because that if there is only one, then the door would slide open, then reverses to slide.

    Assume the following scenario were true:

    Suppose it takes the shutter a full 1 second door to slide open.  If we set an exposure time of 2 seconds, the following should happen if there was only one door.

    -l' shutter starts to slide open from left to right, allowing light to reach the pixels on the left edge of the sensor.  The right edge is always in the dark.

    -as slides of doors, more and more pixels are eposed to light.

    -a second later reached the opposite end and all the pixels are exposed to light, but the door must immediately reverse and start close because it will take a full second to slide the door closed.

    -the door begins to move and immediately the pixels on the edge of most on the right are in the dark, because they are covered by the shutter, but the pixels on the left edge are still exposed to the light.

    -the door has finally reached the edge against a second later and no pixel is exposed to light.

    Think to what just happened... the pixels on the edge of 'left' of the sensor got a second exhibition 2... but the pixels on the right edge of the probe were barely exposed for a fraction of a second.  You'd have a horrible blow to look.

    To resolve this problem, the camera uses TWO doors... begins a sliding open... the other follows a moment later (based on the selected shutter speed) and starts sliding closed.  Now, all pixels are exposed for the same period of time, regardless of the shutter speed you use.

    But the reality is they are mechanically sliding doors and it takes time to move.  Flash sync speed is shortest possible exposure that can be turned where the first door has enough time to COMPLETELY slide open so that when the flash goes off, the entire sensor is exposed and benefit of lightning.  The second door can slide THEN closed.

    If you do not use flash and you set a very fast shutter speed (say 1/1000th) the second door actually starts closeing long before the end of the first door opening.  In fact the second door is "hunting" the first establishes a "slot" which sweeps the sensor.

    With this in mind... now think just what a flash how to predict sync high speed.

    Assume that your camera has a maximum speed of flash-sync of 1/200th, but you want to shoot at 1/400th.

    This means that the first door must begin to open.  When he reached the midpoint, the flash must trigger to light the subject - but half the sensor did not lightning.  The second door closes as the first door continues to open up.  When the first door reaches the opposite edge, the second door will now be in the middle.  The flash needs to fire AGAIN - this time to expose the pixels on the 2nd half of the sensor.

    This means that the flash should fire TWICE in quick succession and the impulses must be PRECISELY 1/800th second (half or your second 1/400th total exposure times) apartment.    No flash would be able to recycle in just 1/800th dry if she gave a burst of the power of the light.  In other words, that it must reserve at least half of its power for the second round.

    If you increase the shutter speed to 1/800th... now the flash to trigger FOUR times and no single burst may be stronger than 25% of the power of lightning - and gusts must precisely timed occurs 1/1600e seconds, independently of the other.

    You can quickly see how this is going to require a flash with a power or you won't be able to finish the sync high speed on something more than just a few feet.

    For the light of day, the most brilliant exhibition is going to be the sunny 16 rule... f/16 with the shutter speed, the value in contrast to ISO.  So, for 100 ISO, you can use 1/100th sec.  To f/8, you can use 1/200th (and now you are still below the max flash sync speed).
