Release of VMware (CTL + ALT) key must press twice

Hello

I'm the first time using VMWARE + Ubuntu (host) combination. I see the strange problem by posting comments in the comments to the host:

I use by default, release the keys CTRL + ALT.

Whenever I am in guest and want to come host (I speak of my input devices) I use CTRL + ALT, but after that my click does not work on all places... .to operate on all the places I need to press the combination again. This means that it is not my default release key CTL + ALT. .it is CTL + ALT (1st time) CTL + ALT (2nd time)...

I need to press CTRL + ALT twice to make completely free.

The places where my CTL + ALT (once) works are only Ubuntu launcher and taskbar.

I tried to google this problem... but I have strength to find the entire discussion on this. That's why I decided to come here. \

What could be the problem and the solution of it?

CTRL + ALT is not a good choice for a Linux host - so before fight with this test the combination of keys to use one that is not incompatible with combinations of native Linux.
Examples CTRL + WIN or SHIFT + WIN

CTRL-Alt-Del does not bring upward the more after XP Task Manager - it brings up a different menu options:

The options presented are also slightly configurable via Group Policy, if your system is equipped with:

    http://www.thewindowsclub.com/customize-ctrlaltdel-screen-Windows-7-Group-Policy

You can kind of 'test' on your keyboard with a built in Screen-Keyboard Windows.

All programs, accessories, ease of access, Screen-Keyboard.

When you press a key on the keyboard, it should light up on the screen keyboard on (by pressing Ctrl):

Of course, we don't know anything about your system (desktop, laptop, keyboard, PS/2, USB, wireless wired keyboard) so you may need to see if another keyboard works, another USB port, batteries, etc...

  • How to disable the left Alt key as the taskbar pop-ups when you try to play the game then press the left Alt key

Original title: left disabling Alt Taskbar pop-up Menu window

    Hello

I have problems with the taskbar. Every time I tap my left Alt key twice, then left Alt + (1-6) a context menu appears. It's the same thing as right click a tab on your taskbar for anyone who is struggling to recreate my problem. Right Alt does not cause this problem.

It is very bad news for me as the focus of changes in context menu of what I do. I play video games in my free time and have game left keybinds for Alt + 1,2 & 3. I will support on these keybinds quickly all while playing. This will cause the context menu for taskbar activate and I'll be tabbed out of my game.

I searched for weeks trying to solve this problem and I have not found any that is worked. I tried to disable the jump lists. I tried to change the registry for a right click on the taskbar. I saw patches of this forum and several others and nothing I found works.

Recently, I contacted Microsoft to the it Department by phone and said they knew exactly how to fix this and if I have to pay $50 to one of their technicians have to connect to my computer that they would have this problem corrected in the blink of an eye. I find this limit extortion honestly and I hope someone had this problem and can provide steps on fixing it.

    Thank you

Thank you for your answer, but the answer you provided is for a question that is different from what I was living. Your link has solved a problem with someone who has the taskbar pop up when their mouse/cursor passes over. My problem was to have a drop down of the taskbar appear whenever I type left Alt + 1/2/3/4 etc.

However, I have since fixed. If there is anyone else out there with this problem, it's a hardware problem with my keyboard. I couldn't get anyone to recreate my problem by pressing left Alt + 1, etc. (although you can recreate my problem to click with the right button on a program in the task bar), so I reset my left Alt key. After resetting my left Alt key this problem does occur more (yay)

    Thank you

  • System standby by pressing the Alt key

Original title: key Alt = weird sleep problem

Well, I just built a new system with windows 7 64 bit and am having a problem with my ALT.  Whenever I press the ALT (alone or in combination with another key), the system goes into sleep mode.  The system shuts down as usual, but when the system wakes from sleep there is no video signal from the monitor and it remains empty.  I have to disconnect the system from the wall outlet and wait a few minutes before starting it up normally.  I tried to google some answers and look around here a bit but have not found the answers.  He is a first generation of time for me and it's the only issue.  I hope it's just a simple setting, but I am new to windows 7 and am not able to find a solution.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi Fuzzylunkin,

    1. you are using a laptop or desktop?

    2. who is the manufacturer and what is the model number of the system?

    Step 1:

If you use a laptop, check if the FN key is enabled. If so, then try totoggle to OFF.

    Step 2:

If you are using a desktop computer, try to download the latest driver for the keyboard updates and check.

    Check out the link:

    Update drivers: recommended links

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-drivers-recommended-links

    Step 3:

You can also try to change the keyboard on the screen and check if the problem persists when you use the ALT key.

    Check out the link:

Type without using the keyboard (on-screen keyboard)

    Hope this information is useful.

  • In Windows 7, how "to hide the letters highlighted for the keyboard navigation until I press the Alt key" (as in XP)?

My underlined letters are all the time in menus and dialog boxes, and I want to disable them.

The first thing I did was go to control panel, accessibility, making the keyboard easy to use, to turn off underline keyboard shortcuts and access keys - but it is already off.

So how do you disable these underscores in Windows 7?

    Hello Dmbyrnes,

I understand that you may be eager to hide the menu bar.  Attached, are steps that can be beneficial in addressing you request...

    (1) first Rt click on the bottom of the menu and uncheck lock the toolbars. Then click on organize > layout > menu bar make sure is unaudited.

From there you should be able to hit the Alt key and the Bar Menu to repopulate.  If you please you would follow with me at your convenience, I would be very happy.

    Thank you

  • Equium L20-197 - left go 'ALT' key in the file menu bar

Hi I hope someone can help me with this.

Recently, I noticed that my laptop started to go to the file menu bar when I press the left alt key (I must say of immediately that the laptop do not before tonight and my laptop GFs - which is the same make & model as mine and has exactly the same set top-do NOT go in the bar file menu when you press the left alt key and as mine comes from) start doing this I guess I managed to activate a setting keyboard shortcut somehow).

I know that by pressing the default Alt allows the file menu bar in windows, but I would be interested to hear if someone else does NOT have this active keyboard shortcut.

I used an emulator and mapped the keys ctrl and alt, but I'm not 100% sure what combination of keys I pressed on, the emulator has since been uninstalled and the shortcut is always enabled.

I was wondering if anyone here has a list of shortcuts keyboard/Fn keys to turn this function on or off or is there already a thread on this? I searched the Forum but have not found anything. Thus, all advice / pointing that I have the right direction on this issue would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello!

Normally if you press the left ALT key you always go to the file menu bar. I checked this on my two laptops Toshiba and it s always the same.
For as far as I know it's not possible to turn off this feature of s and I n t understand why you want to disable. If you n t like it, don t press the ALT key. ;)

  • Pavilion 15 ab062nl: HP Pavilion ab062nl 15, SHIFT, CTRL, ALT keys on linux problems

I have a problem with the keyboard of the laptop HP Pavilion 15 ab062nl.
the problem is with the keys ALT SHIFT and CTRL on the keyboard.

for example when I use the shortcut ALT - TAB, after a few seconds, the ALT - TAB menu disappear as if I release the ALT key, but is not so.
Another example is when I surf the web, when I scroll with the mouse wheel, sometimes the beginning of the page to resize, as if I am pressing CTRL command while marching, or if I write a text, sometimes the borwser launch shortcut, as if I am pressing CTRL while I type text , for exaple so I type letter 'b', open bookmarks...

Another example is while I'm typing the text, if I press the SHIFT key and that you start to type, started writing letters and after awhile, written in lowercase as I released shift, but I'm always pressing shift.

for example, if I press SHIFT + s, the result is this:
    SSSSSSSSSSSSSSsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
some letters are capitalized, but others are tiny.

I have not found a solution.
the only way to fix it temporarily, makes pressure for a few seconds the shift only, after that, the problem goes away indefinitely, or until the next reboot.

This problem occurs with all versions of ubuntu (x 86 and x86_64), now I use Ubuntu 15.10, but I also tried 15.04, ubuntu 10.04 ubuntu ubuntu ubuntu 12.04, 14.04.

In addition, I have this problem too with the other Distributions of GNU/Linux (I tried Fedora, OpenSuse, ArchLinux, Antergos, Debian, SteamOS).
but is not and the hardware problem, because on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 I don't have these problems.

I also tried to connect an externa USB keyboard, and if I use external USB keyboard I have no problems.

In my view, is a compatibility issue with this laptop's built-in keyboard.

I tried to follow these problems using XEV, and results which is also if I use a cell phone, sometimes XEV reads an ENTRY from one of these 3 keys (SHIFT, CTRL, ALT) and while I'm pressing one of these major 3, XEV see also if I release and immedialty after press.
