  Hello - I've been owner of a DELL laptop forever now and is considering moving to acer, but we're not off to a good start.

  On the v5-123-3466, I hope to be able to pass on the HARD for one SSD drive that seems very easy to do (unlike Asus)-however I can't seem to get a straight answer if the v5-123-3466 comes with a micro$ $oft victory-8 key or not.  normally I expect to see a key in the package or on a sticker on the bottom of the unit.

  The Asus, I just returned (and ate the restocking fee of 15% from Newegg in delivery costs more) did not have a key, where my concern.  I don't want to pay another $50 just to know that I can not reload the OS for a stupid reason like "Asus has no key.

  Jeroen x 7224 Acer customer support suggested I ask best buy, but I think it's an easy question get an answer.  It would be tragic if my switchover of Acer's Dell ended because of such a fundamental issue.

• Maybe stupid question from new user: that can be done to get the variables displayed in the information tab variables?

  I've been a user of LabVIEW (2011) for about 1.5 years now and just got ahold of TestStand 2014 to try future test as a structure for our needs.

  I am using on and off for about 3 days and there is something that has been driving me nuts.  When I launch a sequence, and that the report comes at the end, there are three tabs on it: report, steps and Variables.  Report and the steps are exactly what I expect to see.   However, the Variables tab is always empty.  Nothing that I found via my technique of checking everything in menus that looks vaguely related and right click things on many items and these menus for other vaguely related things as well.

  I tried looking for references to it, and all I get is the "Main" variable tab you see when you change the sequence, not the one that appears on the report.

  I suspect there is something incredibly obvious that I'm missing, but it's driving me crazy here...

  You won't see that filled when a run is complete. The variables are useless at this time here.

  If you want to see this populous tab to suspend execution in the middle.  Or a breakpoint.  Then you can watch the variables at run time.

  I have used to have home, Reload, Stop and the new tab.

  Now, however, the reload button only appears sometimes.

  Firefox 4 and later versions use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is placed at the right end of the address bar.

  in 4.1.0 TestStand I noticed that, when I change a container type by adding new elements that the variables of this type automatically receive new items, but without their default values (I use it as a replacement for constant values that TestStand does not). Instead, the new elements are set to 0 (they are all numbers).

  • Are variables inside the sequence of files automatically updated when loading the sequence file? or only the sequence currently in memory files when the type is changed?
  • Is that the behavior of use 0 as a default value instead of the default value in the definition of type of design or a bug?

  and a request: I think it would be good to have constants to TestStand, that is, definitions of the same type in a TypePalette-INI-file, which can be used without an instance of a variable.

• How to reload the prototype and to keep the settings?

  I changed my Labview 7.11 for the latest labview 2012.

  Now, I have a few express-vi-teststeps in 2012 Teststand.

  In the testplan it says that I must update the prototypes because they have been configured with labview 7.1.1 and are not compatible with lv2012.

  When I click the blue arrow and then the prototype is reloaded, the labview icon is shown and the teststeps is running again.

  The problem is that after reloading all custom values for the VI input variables are lost and the default value is displayed (configured settings of express-vi).

  I also changed the prototype in the types.ini, but this seems to be only valid for the new inserted teststeps.

  So what I need, is something like a 'reload all prototypes with parameter values.

  How can I do this?

  Please use update tool vi

  Open your test sequence...

  Go to tools - update vi calls (this should LV dev on your system)

  In the vi's explicit appeal process - option - select Reload if modified prototype

  This should solve the problem.

• Adjust the data in the database with the variables

  For my internship, I have an assignment to read and set a database with the variables. This SQL server 2005 database contains variables of a controller. These are read and write variables. The assignment is to display the read variables and the user can adjust the variables of Scripture. The first part was "easy" because the forum contained a lot of examples of this. The second part is more difficult because the forum contains absolutely no example of this. Can I use LabVIEW 2010 and 2011, and also I downloaded the 30 day trial of the database connection tool. If it's useful, I can recommend my company to buy this package. Playback vi makes use of a UDL (Microsoft data link) connection.

  So you guys my question is: is it possible to adjust the specific variables in a database using LabVIEW? And maybe you can give me a little advice on this topic...

  In SQL, the specific data are always selected with the keyword WHERE. In VI to update there is a link for options, you can for example add a constant 'WHERE id = 1457 and measure > 0.54 ".

  You can ofc. also build this chain through controls, settings and other means.

  If you prefer, you can use the Execute Query (under Advanced tab I think) to which you can send the complete query example "TestTable Update set name ="Zeus"where id > 14 and id.<>

• How can I configure the variables shared between executables created in sepparate projects

  I have several projects sepparate with their own respective executable files and I would like to be able to these executables to all share the same variable (one program control the value of the variable, while others read her).

  I got this configuration to work on my home computer (being able to access the variable Manager, etc.), but I need to deploy these executables on different computers that do not have the labview development program. What should I do so that I am able to put these executables on any computer (I guess I have to configure a path to the shared variable which is always in the same folder, etc.)

• Value of the variable of LMS

  My variable of user customized course users and it is important that its current value is stored in the LMS when the user leaves the course, but no matter, I make only the initial variable value is stored (when I check the LMS the value that appears in suspend_data is the initial value).

  I think the question can be suspend data.  SCORM 1.2, I think that you are allowed to 4000 bytes.  CP uses a lot of it.  If you have more than 100 pages in your cptx, you can already invade this limitation.

  Try the SCORM 2004 edition (which allows 64 000 bytes to suspend data I think) and tests in the clouds of SCORM.

  If that works, you can be sure you're overtaking of SCORM 1.2 suspend the limits data.

  I'm afraid that no, there features built in and as you can see differences in the properties of Quiz Panel (you don't score, penalty, partial for KC slides, they are not counted in the Quiz system variables). You will need to recreate the KC questions from scratch, not the normal questions.

• DAC 10g: Variable Question

  I have a question on the establishment of a dac setting. If the scenario is as follows:

  We have several plans which runs to complete a fact table, source data from different sources for different EP. All these execution plans have a common task.  This task common relies on informatica mapping that contains different look-up the challenge here is that we are trying to pass a variable in the eyes upward in the map, and this variable/parameter should have a dynamic value based on the running plan.  I know that in DAC 11g, we have the execution level parameters that can be set.  How can this be implemented in DAC 10 g?

  To resolve this problem, I did the following:

  (1) created a setting in the source system.

  (2) type = SQL and used a SQL query to retrieve the desired value for the variable dynamically in the staging tables of fact.

  I've been unable to find explicitly for an answer to the question how to check if a variable is null or Unassigned or not defined. As some analog to java fi (var == null).

  The variable in question is of type xsd: Integer. I use the assign activity where I use oraext:lookup - table. If the (integer) value is not found in the database, then the variable remains unaffected. However, I am of ideas of how to do to check if it's still not affected or not

  To check if the value of a variable (in bpel) is null or empty, I think you can use this expression - bpws:getVariableData('variable') = "(just two quotes together), in a condition of switch-case / if-else.
