could you tell me where to find lists allow/block for access in ie8 Manager and parental control under accounts of users and parental control?

    Hi pavilion_alex,.

For Access Manager, see the following: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-use-content-advisor-in-internet-explorer-8.html.

For Parental control, see the following: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-up-Parental-Controls.  For each category, there is a tracking link that provides details on how to manage this particular aspect, including where are the lists and how block/allow access.

Windows Live Family Safety 2011 allows you to manage remote parental control - but not really adds additional means to block or allow.  You can simply access computers remotely to do what parental controls can do this on the local PC.  Here's where to find this program: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-family-safety?os=other.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Cancel the Parental control, because I'm the Parent: but not Administrator of my computer

I myself blocked on my computer. I didn't know that Apple was the administrator of the computer, and I was a user. I turned on the 'enable parental control' to limit the spending of my adolescence, while using my apple ID. I didn't know I was putting controls on myself. I tried everything-

    (1) connected on Mac of my son tried to remote access, file sharing, etc. He is a Director on his computer, and we've even created a new user on his computer. Nothing has worked.

    (2) tried questions help and support, impossible to find a way around it.

    (3) I've changed my password, now I can't even shut down the computer.

I can't believe that this happened to someone, somewhere, and it's so easy to do.

    Help, please! I tried everything-

Please take these steps to restore the privileges on your account. This somewhat tedious procedure is only necessary if you have verified that no work administrator account exists on the system.

If you do not already have a current backup of all your data, you must back up before taking any of the steps below. Ask if you need advice. You won't need the backup unless something goes wrong, which is always possible.

    Step 1

Start in recovery mode. The OS X Utilities appears.

    Step 2

This step only if you use FileVault 2. Start utility disk, then select the icon for the volume FileVault startup ("Macintosh HD", unless you have given it a different name.) It will be nested under another icon of the disc. Select open in the file menu and enter your login password when you are prompted. Then quit disk utility must be returned to the main screen.

    Step 3

    Select

    Utilities ▹ Terminal

in the menu bar. In the window that opens, type this:

    resetp

Press the tab key. The partial order you entered will automatically end this:

    resetpassword

Press return. Opens a window to reset the password. Select your boot if not already done volume. Pull down the menu option

    Select the user account

    and select

    Administrator (root)

Follow the prompts to set a password. It is safer to choose a password that includes only the characters a - z, A - Z and 0-9. I suggest that you write the password. If you don't write it down and forget about it, you will start again at step 1.

    Select

     ▹ Reboot...

    in the menu bar.

    Step 4

This step, as step 2, applies only if you use FileVault. Sign up as usual, then select

     ▹ Disconnect...

from the menu bar or press shift-command-Q key combination. Do not restart. You go back to the login screen.

    Step 5

On the login screen, click on the other... Enter 'root' (without the quotes) in the name field and the password set in step 3 in the password field. You should now be logged in as root. It is a potentially dangerous situation. Do nothing by being logged in as root except as indicated below. You'll be fine as long as you don't dismiss the plan.

Open the preferences users and groups window. Select your usual administrator account from the list of users and check the box marked

Allow the user to administer this computer

You will be prompted to restart. Do this and log in as yourself, not as root. Your administrator status should now be restored.

    Step 6 (optional, but recommended)

Follow the instructions in this article to support under the title "disable the root user. You must authenticate in directory utility as a 'root' with the password set in step 3. As another administrator authentication will not work.

  • My child allows to bypass the parental control

My child to bypass the parental control on his Macbook Air using the method presented in this video tutorial. Is there a way to avoid this? https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Br6wKR28jFo

With the text of the video section, the way used by the author to exploit the single user Mode

command line is specified; and it has been done before. Don't know if there are more recent methods

to try to deter the child since the creation of their own Admin account to bypass the controls that

Although it is possible to learn how and use the Open Firmware password, to attempt to get the Admin acct

This could also be overcome by a particular person looking to exploit a work around physical access.

In the past, some computer models were easier to open and to perform tasks that could derail this method.

Almost any iFixit or removable guide could be useful for a particular child or student, as a work-around.

See suggestions on how to apply the Firmware password, as well as the means to

block access to the material or the way to reset the admin by OS X Recovery password, in news

OS X versions that use this partition and its utilities. It is part of the problem with the Admin

operation, the user is physical access to the computer. And why remotely hacking is very difficult.

If no official Apple retail Store is available, you should perhaps consider a call to Apple support or use a

  • Specific times on 1200 + ca Parental Controls does not

    Hello

I recently bought from Best Buy a Linksys AC 1200 +. I love the Smart Wifi and remote application access, however, I found that the portion of the precise moments of parent controls doesn't seem to work. I chose the time I want the device to be able to access, but no matter what I do, as long as I have the parental control activated, the devices lose connectivity.  If I change it to never be blocked, it works, or if I change to always block access it works, but no matter which option I choose (white should be allowed and the blue should be blocked - I tried both) does not work.

Any ideas?  I have the latest firmware and I made sure that the device and the router are on the correct time zone and the time has come.

I'm frustrated, but I hope that this community can help!

    Thank you!

    There is a catch...
You must be an administrator on his computer in order to configure Parental controls, and his account may be either an admin account. Because if he has admin rights, it can remove the parental control. For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

  • Why is forgetful of Parental control?

Why Parental controls (often, not always) forget and do not take account of my settings?

I have, for example, deselected some apps, but when my daughter logs in to his account on our MBP she gains unfettered access.

Is there a sequence in which the parameters must be defined? What I am doing wrong?

    Hi CreativeSmith,

I understand that you are experiencing some problems with getting the parental controls and Restrictions work correctly on your Mac running macOS Sierra. Please take a look at the links below to verify that you have the Parental control configuration correctly.

  • Siri is disabled by the Parental control on macOS Sierra admin account

I just installed macOS Sierra today on my 13 "Mac Book Pro (early 2011). I have only one user account that is an administrator account. Siri is not enabled on my machine. When I go to the Siri system preferences screen, it says that "Siri is disabled by Parental control. Hmmm, when I check the Parental control screen, it says "you logged in using an administrator account." You can only apply parental controls to accounts that are not administrator accounts. »

    What happens here?

Same problem here. Updated for Sierra of El Capitan on MacBookPro 15 "(mid - 2014).

Even if I toggle the checkbox on the Parental control > others > disable Siri & dictation I can't activate Siri, the checkox is always gray and the alert says "Siri is disabled by Parental control.

Siri is enabled if I login as a burst, but I need it on my Admin account of course. Very annoying.

  • Parental Controls 10.6.8 - not allowing specified websites

Hello!  I set up parental controls to 'Allow access only to those sites' and the system is blocking some Web sites, I have authorized (e.g., khanacademy.org and weather.com).  How is it?  Is it possible to fix it?

    Thank you

    Dawn

Weather.com is stuffed with ads, and probably blocking is due to advertising websites on their site.  Go to http://www.weather.gov which is much more accurate and no advertising.

How can I prevent adolescents to change the time zone on their phones?

    Soccer Mom

You can not. The time zone on the phone setting should not have anything to do with AT & T cellular data limits. Those based on time on the cell towers. Contact AT & T

Or just take the phone away from them if they can't be trusted to follow the rules.

  • How can I reset an admin password used for Parental control?

6 months ago, I found my daughter was using his mac laptop for reasons of distracting and I decided to install parental control.  I used a password specific to do on his laptop computer.  She has since learned his lesson and now has some access to the school.  I forgot the password.  How can I reset?

    -Jason

Do you mean you forgot all the passwords for administrative accounts for Mac?

All you have to do is to go into System Preferences > Parental controls and click on the padlock in the lower left and admin user and password and then click on the device in the lower left corner and disable Parental control for the selected user

  • Parental control & YouTube

I turned on parental controls, and all of a sudden my Youtube app is gone, is anyway to prevent this app to disappear? I tried to allow youtube.com in the Web sites section to allow restrictions, but that did not help. Any ideas?

The app is rated 17 +, so if you want to restrict apps it be hidden – the only way to stop that is not to restrict apps (which allows to youtube.com as a website will allow it on Safari, it won't unlock the app)
