Removal of keyboard problem - live stuck on T43

I tried to remove the 4 screws on the back of my T43, but except for the two other two seem to be stuck at the last part of the thread and continues to go round.

I installed 1 GB of ram to the back stick and you must put the another 1 GB stick in the slot under the keyboard.

Any ideas how to get the job done without damaging the components

Thanks for all the inputs

Hi quadophile,

I had the same problem, I think you describe: the screws disengage threaded holes but do not fall into the holes. So far, I managed by holding the laptop and using a screwdriver vertical spinning screw around in their holes until eventually they give up. What may work better is a magnet of pencil or using a tool magnetizing your screwdriver to help coax the outside screws.

  • Upgrade memory EliteBook 2760p - removal of keyboard problems

My 2760 p came with 4 GB, and I have now bought 2 x 8 GB to take up to 16 GB.

The existing RAM is in the secondary area of RAM (under the keyboard) with another (primary) RAM location empty available under the basic sercie coverage.

Use of the service manual (c03011611.pdf or part no.641800 - 002) I tried to follow the instructions, which are essentially:

    -remove the battery, service coverage

-remove the 2 plugs screw (which do not actually appear to exist on the model recently bought) and unscrew the 5 captive screws

At the above, no problem, but the questions come when you try to remove the keyboard. The instructions are:

    "

Insert a flat tool under the edge rear (1) of the keyboard near the hinge of the screen. Carefully lift the rear edge of the keyboard (2) and disconnect the keyboard. »

Questions are: has) unless I'm trying to plug in the wrong place (think so much - summer probe 20 minutes now) there is virtually no gap to insert any flat tool - I mean "virtually no space" I even tried under the knife of a surgeon...

and (B) I thought that I would try to return the unit and shake gently to allow I hope the keyboard let go to drop a small amount - but the keyboard does not seem to move.

Question - are those still running instructions and correct?  and if so, what exactly is the thing down the keyboard without destroying them?

    Thank you

PS Guys HP - photos of some of your books are not great quality (too dark) and have also been downsampled so remove detail key. Really, I'm not afraid download a 20 MB PDF manual if it makes things clearer.

Access your model as seen in the screenshot.

    http://h20574.www2.HP.com/default.htm?lang=en&cc=us&hpappid=psml

Make sure that you are connected to the instance before you click on the media library.

Give the time for the video to load and when there, click on "Keyboard" in the left column.

Manuals can become obsolete as new models and features are introduced. HP is really bad for not their update, this applies to their drivers as well.

  • Satellite A200 - keyboard problem - E button stucks

From one of the windows, updated a few months ago, my Sat A200 began to have problems with the keyboard.

After using it for a few hours, the key than the keyboard e seems stuck upwards, i.e. I can't key in anything like the e key is displayed permanently.
I have to restart the computer to resolve this problem.

Someone at - it a similar experience I can do to prevent this from happening again.

    Thanks in advance.

I didn t notice any similar issues.
But it would be interesting to know if it is a mechanical problem with the E key or if it could be linked to the issue of the software (Vista update).

To be honest, I can t believe that a Vista update could cause this problem.
I have 2 laptops and Vista was preinstalled on two laptops.
I've updated and something like that never appeared.

If you wish, you can check if the same problem persists after the recovery procedure.

But I think there might be a problem with the keyboard and maybe what it s advisable to contact the ASP for control of the keyboard and a keyboard if necessary replacement.

  • NB100: keyboard problem internal after changing the language on the external keyboard

    Hello

    I bought a brand new Toshiba NB100.
Due to the size of the keybord th (and the odd choice of colored letters grey on the keyboard), I bought an external keyboard as well.
My settings of language is Norwegian, but the external keyboard is US.
So I did it in Norwegian.

The problem is that now, whenever I'm not using the external keyboard, the integrated keyboard is foreign to any language and has 'invented' his own which means I have to press the Fn key in order to access the normal letters and the number zero.

I tried to remove the keyboard drivers and retart in the hope to return to the original values, but anything will do.

    Hope someone can help me.

I'm not sure, but have you tried turning on FN + F11 / turn off?

Or maybe Control Panel > regional and language options > tab regional options or languages?

    Try different settings.

  • Portege M600: keyboard problem

    Hello

My M600 just got a little problem (I hope) today.

The 'x 'key' doesn't quite work. I have to press very hard to show the letter 'x '. It seems that the upper-left hand corner of this key is stuck, so he bends to the bottom right when I press on it. How can I solve this problem?

I am located in Glasgow (G4 0JQ) and do not know if there are any office of maintenance here, but just know the nationalwide Service Pick-Up & return for laptops Web site. However, I prefer to deal face to face with the engineer in a few minutes, because I guess this isn't a big deal, isn't it?

    Thank you very much
    Ting

    Hi Ting

What to say? You know that the best solution is ASP and finally change the keyboard. I really don't think you can fix it alone.

I recommend you check out http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > find an ASP. You will see where is the nearest ASP. Make a call and see what they say on keyboard problem.

  • Equium P200 1IR - how to remove the keyboard internal?

This portable soup spilled on the keyboard and now will not start, even with a wired USB keyboard. I want to disconnect the internal keyboard, because it seems that is what causes the problem. (I have experience). But I don't see how.

I did some research on the web and looked at http://www.irisvista.com/ (mentioned in another thread), but not found anything that seems applicable to this model.

    Hey,.

You should know that these disassembly guides not available in Internet so it s just good luck if you find guides or photos how to disassemble a laptop. These manuals are available for the service providers allowed according to me

Anyway, normally it s not difficult to swap the keyboard. As far as I know, so you must remove the door-keyboard. You can do this with a thin tool
After that, you should a few screws that attach the keyboard you have to remove and that s all

On the Web site that you posted, you can find more instructions for Satellite P200. Perhaps this model P200 is similar to your check it!

But to be honest, I doubt that your laptop would start after removing the keyboard, but you can try it. In the worst cases, you need professional help. An authorized service provider can check all hardware components. :)

  • Satellite A30: For those inventive keyboard problem

    Hello

My problem is that I spilled juice on my Satellite A30. Since MN then. keys on the keyboard do not respond. I think it has to do with the fact that the juice having disappeared left a sort of insulation under the buttons. I wonder if anyone can advise me on the following:

    1. How can I remove the keyboard off Satellite A30? The manual does not give an indication on it.

    2. is it possible to remove faulty buttons, clean the surface below them and put back them without any problem? I heard that once removed laptop keyboard buttons cannot be placed back correctly.

3 should. what solution I use to clean the remains of juice? My only idea is to use some sort of soapy solution.

4 wouldn't be allright just to put the keyboard without removing faulty buttons in a solution and keep it for a while until all the juice remains are taken away? The keyboard let completely dry and replace in place? Or, maybe there is a way to disassemble the keyboard in order to break the circuit so that it can be cleaned without worries?

I hope you people help me get through this question cause I don't want to spend a fortune on a new keyboard, as people in the service center possibly won't bother to clean up my keybard and will just get away with ordering a new.

OK, thanks for your ideas and consideration.

    Hello

If the buttons just does not have the "n" and am ' ones, then you may be able to clean adequately without the need to disassemble your A30.

First, you need to remove the covered buttons involved. To do this gently prising upward from the bottom edge of each button (use the SPACEBAR as a rest for a small flat blade so that you can lift buttons up. Once the keys are deleted (not to lose) you will be able to see the cantilever spring mechanism that makes electrical contact when you press it. Carefully clean the area with a small cotton swab (or even a small brush) and a lot of alcohol isoproyl (or an electrical contact, cleaning solution). I hope that this will restore the normal operation of the keys.

To replace the top key locate top edge first and lower aid in position and apply progressive pressure the bottom of the key top until your feel/hear a 'click '.

If all else fails, then you need to replace the keyboard, but fortunately, they are not too expensive (about £65 I remember well).

    Good luck

  • F100-NH Pavilion: Pavilion HP KEYBOARD PROBLEM

    Hello world!

I have a laptop HP Pavilion F100-NH with Win 8.1.

2 weeks before my keyboard has a problem. I started windows and I couldn't type anything. I removed the keyboard from the Device Manager, and then I restarted > it would be OK.

But today, I have the same problem. I just removed the keyboard from the device, restarted Manager and nothing happens... And now I don't see the "keyboard" devices more. Strange.

The hardware itself has a problem, because I can use it during startup. Windows has a problem. How could I solve this problem?

I tried to reinstall the chipset driver (I thought that this may be a solution), but I couldn't find the chipset driver.

    Thank you for your answer!

    Best regards:

    Csaba

    HI @loscsaba,

    Thank you for your request!

I understand that once before you have had a problem with the keyboard does not not after scoring in Windows.  You went to the Device Manager, removed the keyboard and rebooted.  The keyboard once again fully functional. Two weeks later the return issue, but repeating the previous steps did not help. After removing the keyboard when you restart, it was no longer listed in Device Manager.  When in Device Manager, if you are looking for a material change the keyboard appear?

Thinking it might be a chipset driver you went looking for an update, but have been unable to locate one.

When I searched for your laptop, I get several results.  To get the right pair, please provide your model number. How can I find my model number or product number?

Here is a link to HP Notebook PC - portable keyboard troubleshooting (Windows 10: 8).  You would also go the HP Support Assistant to help solve this problem?  You can also try running the troubleshooter in Windows Help.

Please let me know the results.

  • Keyboard problems - the circumflex accent keeps jumping around while I type! HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC

    Product number: B1W89EA #ABU

    Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit

I have made no recent changes.

    Problem:

Everything by typing the caret keeps jumping to the top of the screen so that the text I'm in the mid typing eventually disappear to a random position longer than the top of the page, I already typed in the middle of the text.

For a few weeks, I assumed that it was just me slipping, as I only started using the shortcut ctrl + arrow keys to scroll the text easier. However, I am becoming very sure that this is not the case because it happens to average flow by typing quite normal (i.e. not involving not the arrow keys at all!).

I didn't have this laptop last summer, but I'm a finalist uni and REALLY rely on my laptop. I type a lot, and it's really annoying and inconvenient

Hello NerdWhale.  I understand that you are having problems with your keyboard.

You should try to remove the keyboard and reset the laptop hard driver.  This will force the material in order to be reset.  Try the following.

    1. Click Start, type "Device Manager" and press ENTER.
    2. Expand the section of keyboards.
    3. Right-click on each device and select uninstall.
    4. Shut down the laptop.
    5. Remove the battery and AC power.
    6. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds, three times.
    7. Replace the battery and AC power.
    8. Start Notepad and allow Windows to reinstall the drivers.
    9. Check whether the problem is resolved and post the result.

  • How can I remove the keyboard from a HP Envy dv7t-7200

Hi, as the title suggests, I can't figure out how to remove the keyboard of my laptop, I unscrewed everything inside and removed the DVD tray, press the hole to lift the keyboard and the corner rises well, but two-thirds along the way the keyboard seems to be ensured by a tab or a lock , I guess there is something I'm missing, something I have to press to help completely free the keyboard, I think that there is a tab that is clicked, the manual mentions nothing about it.

    I read this:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/removing-keyboard-from-HP-envy-dv7-4000/TD-p/3230343

My problem seems to be substantially the same as his, unfortunately, the video who said his doubts is private. Can someone help me out here? I don't want to break the keyboard and I'm desperate, I saw tons of videos on other models, but they don't seem to have this feature. Will you please reply as soon as possible because it is a delicate task for me.

Thanks in advance for the help you provide.

I assume that you have the Manual:

    Manual

See page 61. The sides of the keyboard have a small flange that goes under the "lip" of the hole in the lid of the top of the keyboard page. Get a spatula plastic under the edge of the keyboard and move around where you can pop out over the lip. He sticks in there a little and you can fold the keyboard a little to get him out of the opening. It'll probably take a little more force you have been willing to apply.

  • How to remove the keyboard in a m6 desire?

    Hello

It's all in the title really. My 'f' key does not work and I would remove it to check I have here something is poorly located below. How should I proceed?

    Thanks in advance.

The keyboard is not a collection of parts that can be repaired or replaced individually. It is a unit. If you don't know what's down there, so there no reason to delete a key. What is that a flat area in metal. The wheels are on circuit inside the keyboard where you can't reach. I've seen too many people is back in a corner by removing the keys that are pretty darn almost impossible to replace. They stand in a easier way that they return. It is not uncommon that keyboard problems appear as a simple failure or keys just a couple defective.

The only thing you can do is to reset the computer. Remove the battery and the AC adapter / CC. Press and hold the power for 30 seconds. Replace AC and power. Go into the BIOS and reset the default settings to the output. When it does start, go into the Device Manager and remove the keyboard as a device, restart again and let the driver to reload. This means maybe 5% chance of restoring function.

I do not understand some of your words.

    • 'stached"--> home?
    • "delwtwd"--> deleted?

Assuming that I got those right, the answer is not much sense yet.  Take a deep breath, take your time and use simple language with common punctuation.  Type slowly.  Your hands are going faster than your mind and makes it hard to follow.  Don't make things worse by getting over excited.  ;-)

What I tell you (based on the original post and now this response), this is your best course of action with your horribly hacked and infected system should all erase and start over - disconnecting the network while you do this to your computer.  If you have a USB and there are some select files/folders you want to have no EXECUTABLE in them - copy those turned off.

You should probably reset each password you have for each account that you have as well – each of them.  Anywhere - Internet, etc.

You may want to also likely reset everything router you might have that connect you to the Internet if there is a custom configuration - as they have probably your router pirate as well - giving them a back door at least in your network.

What you have presented I can assume only you have been scammed.  They have probably used something like VNC or TeamViewer and your willingness to participate to take complete control of everything you have on your computer and possibly connected to your network.

If it is a business network - disconnect your computer it immediately and contact your it Department and let them know what you think.

    Hello

    1. What is the number of brand and model of your laptop?
    2. have you contacted the manufacturer of your laptop?

    Follow the steps mentioned below.
    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Test the keyboard in safe mode and check if the problem persists in safe mode.

    Step 2:

If it works in safe mode, perform the clean boot and check. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

Note : follow step 7 to your computer as usual, after the test.

    Method 2:
    a. check if on-screen keyboard funvtions normally.
    b. If possible, try to connect an external keyboard and check if the problem persists.

If the problem does not persist if could be a hardware problem and suggest you contact the manufacturer of the laptop.
