Upgrade memory EliteBook 2760p - removal of keyboard problems

My 2760 p came with 4 GB, and I have now bought 2 x 8 GB to take up to 16 GB.

The existing RAM is in the secondary area of RAM (under the keyboard) with another (primary) RAM location empty available under the basic sercie coverage.

Use of the service manual (c03011611.pdf or part no.641800 - 002) I tried to follow the instructions, which are essentially:

-remove the battery, service coverage

-remove the 2 plugs screw (which do not actually appear to exist on the model recently bought) and unscrew the 5 captive screws

At the above, no problem, but the questions come when you try to remove the keyboard. The instructions are:

"

Insert a flat tool under the edge rear (1) of the keyboard near the hinge of the screen. Carefully lift the rear edge of the keyboard (2) and disconnect the keyboard. »

Questions are: has) unless I'm trying to plug in the wrong place (think so much - summer probe 20 minutes now) there is virtually no gap to insert any flat tool - I mean "virtually no space" I even tried under the knife of a surgeon...

and (B) I thought that I would try to return the unit and shake gently to allow I hope the keyboard let go to drop a small amount - but the keyboard does not seem to move.

Question - are those still running instructions and correct?  and if so, what exactly is the thing down the keyboard without destroying them?

Thank you

PS Guys HP - photos of some of your books are not great quality (too dark) and have also been downsampled so remove detail key. Really, I'm not afraid download a 20 MB PDF manual if it makes things clearer.

Access your model as seen in the screenshot.

http://h20574.www2.HP.com/default.htm?lang=en&cc=us&hpappid=psml

Make sure that you are connected to the instance before you click on the media library.

Give the time for the video to load and when there, click on "Keyboard" in the left column.

Manuals can become obsolete as new models and features are introduced. HP is really bad for not their update, this applies to their drivers as well.

I tried to remove the 4 screws on the back of my T43, but except for the two other two seem to be stuck at the last part of the thread and continues to go round.

I installed 1 GB of ram to the back stick and you must put the another 1 GB stick in the slot under the keyboard.

Any ideas how to get the job done without damaging the components

    Thanks for all the inputs

    Hi quadophile,

I had the same problem, I think you describe: the screws disengage threaded holes but do not fall into the holes. So far, I managed by holding the laptop and using a screwdriver vertical spinning screw around in their holes until eventually they give up. What may work better is a magnet of pencil or using a tool magnetizing your screwdriver to help coax the outside screws.

Recently upgraded to El Capitan, I had that problem for Mail stop unexpectedly when I saw some posts.  I followed the steps and was able to remove the trouble messages.   Now I can't restore the mail window message viewer component.  When I try to catch the separator bar to go back to the left, only half of the small arrow icon and line appears, and it cannot be moved.   Can open the message by double clicking a message viewer.

    Hi there, alicefrompa!

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. From your post, I understand that you do not see the Message Viewer box which allows you to read your e-mails; only see you the Inbox that includes a brief overview of the message and are unable to restore access using the separator bars. I have had this happen to my own Mail app and am happy to let you know how I could fix!

You are really on the right track - you want to roll your mouse over the divider between the Inbox and sections Message Viewer (which should now be on the extreme right edge of your mail window) and drag it to the left.  When you click on the receipt/Message Viewer box, the cursor turns into a line continuous black with a single arrow pointing to the left. When you see the cursor change, click with the left button of the mouse and (while holding down the mouse button in) drag the combination line / arrow to the left. You may need to drag a little further than before to get it. I had to hang mine almost completely in the middle of my Mail app before the display of the message box appeared.

From there, you should be able to adjust the boxes to your widths you want as expected.

If you are still not able to get the display of the messages visible after have try this, here are a few more things that you can do.

    1. Press command + O on your keyboard.
    2. Exit the Mail application, and then press on and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard while reopening.
    3. Restart your Mac by selecting the menu  Apple in the upper right of your screen restart from the menu drop down.

    See you soon!

    Hello

I do not work for HP, I think that the degree of disassembly required to access the memory Module might well viod your warranty.

The procedure is described starting on Page 41 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • Equium 60 - remove the keyboard, upgrading RAM

How to remove the keyboard to access the 256 MB of RAM, which is apparently below? The screws are marked with a reference for example B8. Who are those to unscrew?
    Another thing to watch Anyything?

    Thank you

Why would you remove the keyboard?
Memory module compartment is placed at the bottom of the unit and that a single screw secures the cover of the location.

In addition he laptop support 256 MB internal memory! This memory is not removable! So you will not have to remove the keyboard!

I think everything should be clear now.

  • its EliteBook 2760p problem '

    Hello!

I recently bought the new elitebook 2760p and that's great, except this problem I encounter.

The problem is that every once in a while when I'm listening to music or watching a movie, get it all scratchy sound for one second and that is ok. as it freezes for a second and returns to normal.

My operating system is windows 7, the recently installed. I've updated all my drivers, but the problem remains. Audio freezes for a second.

Any help from you guys would be much appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Hello:

If you have the HP Power Assistant software installed, see if delete that solves the problem.

If it does and you want to have the software, go to support for your laptop and driver page, click the software Assistant power link, click on the history tab to review and install a younger version of it.

If uninstalling the software does not resolve the problem, you can reinstall the current version of the software.

I have more ideas for you to try other than what I suggested.

  • Problems upgrade memory ThinkPad Yoga 11th 20 d 9

I recently bought a 20 d model 9 11th Yoga and so far I'm in love.  However, I wanted to upgrade memory 4 GB to 8 GB.  I bought 8 GB Crucial single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) as all the reviews I read said it was OK to use, however, every time I install the memory, and I try to charge the laptop at the same time it crashes.  I can run windows 10 perfectly without a problem until I have try to load it.  I can load cell ther when the laptop is turned off, but for the life of me I can not do coexist.  The original of the ram, I installed and everything works perfectly.

Even if I'm in the bios, as soon as I plug the charger that will crash the laptop.  There literally rips on the screen and everything vanished.  As soon as I unplug it, the laptop works perfectly.

I went back the memory and got a replacement and it does exactly the same thing.  I've updated the BIOS and the firmware for the battery.  I'm out of ideas.  Any help would be appreciated.

I finally found one that works:

  • Upgrade memory PC 2 GB to 4 GB - problem with Indesign CS4

I use Indesign CS4 on a PC (XP Professional SP3) that has 2 GB of memory. InDesign would go, but it has been slow, so upgraded to 4 GB. InDesign is running, but when we try to cut the text on one application and paste it into the document Indsign, he hesitates for a second or two before finishing the task.

Is there some settings in Indesign to be considered in the upgrade memory? Any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

I don't think that the problem is caused by InDesign.

  • Upgrade memory (over TP. R40e) problem

    Hello!

I tried to increase the RAM on my ThinkPad R40e to 768 MB (now it has 256 MB) with module of 512 MB but computer recognized only half of the new memory module capacity.

Module has 512 MB DDR400 (new) and it was made by "takeMS".

    (CL 3, 2.5 V, 4 'chips' on each side a - 8 to the total/2 sides)

Since it was of DDR400 (PC 3200), this memory downgraded successfully to DDR266 (PC 2100) but only half was recognized - 256 MB!

    So, my questions are:

    1. is it possible to upgrade memory to 768 MB (256 + 512) with different types - DDR266 and DDR400

(a few MB less because it has an integrated graphics card)?

    2. what brand/type of 512 MB of RAM can I use for this model of ThinkPad R40e?

(according to IBM/Lenovo maximum capacity is 1 GB of RAM - 2 x 512 MB)

Computer: IBM ThinkPad R40e, model: 2684 (celeron 2.2 GHz, RAM: 256 MB DDR 266, HARD drive: 30 GB, combo)

    Thank you!

PS Sorry if my English is bad.

    I found a solution.

I upgraded the memory on my ThinkPad R40e!

    Here is the solution:

    1. I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version.

(Before update BIOS it is necessary to check the Embedded Controller Progam version and update to the latest version before upgrading the BIOS)

All the drivers and software for R40 and R40e are here: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-46024.html

    2. I bought 512 MB DDR RAM PC3200 - 400 Mhz (in my case, the memory is Kingston ValueRam: KVR400X64SC3A/512).

This ThinkPad uses PC2100 and PC2700 memory I bought is backward compatible (and cheaper)

It is important that this computer will only recognize memory that has 4 chips on each side!

I hope this can be useful to someone!

    Good bye

    M.

How can I do to make this upgrade successfully?

  • Upgrade memory of satellite S2450-S203

Really appreciate it if you could help. I have a laptop perfect condition except it has only 512 MB of RAM. I tried to take part to upgrade, but I was not able to find where memory and I can't remove a plus. I took every screw out, I can find, but the back does not seem to come off. I updated PCs before but never laptops.

I really don't want to have to pay a PC World a lot of "technician" of money to do something that takes 5 minutes.

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop Satellite 2450 s203 has no internal memory. This model of phone is expandable up to 1 GB. Memory locations are placed under the keyboard. As a first step, you must remove the brace of keyboard. The keyboard is fixed by 3 screws (places under this plastic brace). Remove the keyboard.

On the left side it is insulation placed covering the memory locations. Press the two detergents. One end of the barrette memory will pop up.
    I hope this brief description.

    Good bye

  • upgrade memory 2540p

How many modules memory are there on the 2540p?

    • Of after Crucial, there are two. According to my system, I have 4 GB installed (3.80 GB usable).
    • But when I take the cover on the back, I can only find a single SODIM 2 GB module and on You Tube, they show only one.

So, how to upgrade the memory up to 8 GB, which is what HP support site says that the 2540p can take?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Second memory is hidden under the keyboard. First, you must remove the keyboard, and then you will need to unscrew the screw that holds the shield of memory. Lift the right edge of the shield of memory and slide it to the right until the tabs on the left edge of the ecu memory are free of their slots on the top of the cover and remove.
Now, you will see the second memory module.

    Note:

Don't forget to unplug the AC adapter and the battery before you follow these steps.

  • Upgrade memory for Tecra A5

Hello, if anyone can help, I would be very grateful.

I have a Tecra A5 that I bought a few years ago and recently it has become quite slow. On the suggestion of a colleague, I rebooted the machine, remove a lot of unused programs and it seems to have improved.

However, I would like to upgrade the RAM. Currently, the task manager tells me I have 1 GB of available, and I read that the Tecra A5 can handle 2 GB, which seems likely to boost performance.

However, looking at the manual and at the bottom of the laptop, it only seems to be a slot to expand memory. Looking at websites selling RAM upgrades, there only seems to be 128, 256, 512 and 1024 MB memory upgrades.

Here's the question. Should I buy two memory upgrades 1 GB (and if so, where did I put the other?)

I have a feeling that when I bought the laptop, the seller has provided two upgrades memory of 512 MB.

Thanks for any advice on this.

You are right. Your Tecra can be upgraded up to 2 GB. Compatible RAM module has PA3313U-2M1G part number. Are you a location is available downstairs?
This old Tecra is unknown to me, but what I do know, is that all laptops with a RAM slot at the bottom have an another slot memory under the keyboard.

If you want to have full access to this slot machine, you must remove the keyboard.

  • Upgrade memory on Satellite 1900-803

How do you get the keyboard on this model to upgrade memory?

    Why keyboard remove?
To my knowledge, memory expansion module housing is placed at the bottom of the unit near the fan.
The cover must be secured with a screw. Simply remove the screws and the cover and you will be able to improve memory.
