  • virus or worm?

Let me ask as a beginner of Mac Pro.

I doubt that my Mac Pro has a virus or a worm.

The problem came after I saw MacKeeper advertising on the site.

As I was watching the film online at the moment, and I downloaded it at first glance be afraid of the virus,

but later he is some kind of malware.

Then my norton security check started alarm the threat in this computer, but he never finished the search for a solution to this threat.

I tried to close my PC and reboot, then found a slight changes in the logon screen; the color of the character username was black,

and had time to slow connection.

After that, I tried several ways to check the threat again, but this time there was nothing.

Even now, the login screen is not normal. Even if no problem for everyday use, I fear that my Mac has something inside.

If some of you could give me a solution or any ideas, it would be very useful.

  • Satellite L750 slow to load windows

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L750/L755, and I had some problems starting windows after you use the tool/toshiba recovery disk

    So, this is what happened:

I reached the maximum capacity on the C: drive, so I started data transfer to D: drive that was too slow, so I cancelled, it is when the computer froze and I had to stop it manually.

I could not turn it back on so I used the "toshiba recovery" tool to make it back on, it worked; the problem is that the computer toke half forever to complete loading of windows, so I reused the "toshiba recovery tool" and ended the same. I also tried to run a repair of the registry, check the volume errors, nothing seems to work.

    I welcome any help

    Thank you

    Hello

I understand this correctly? Notepad starts very slowly. Right?
From my own experience, a lot of different process begins when the laptop starts.
You can check the msconfig-> Startup tab

In many cases, these are Toshiba processes that control the characteristics of different laptops and multimedia keys, FN keys, energy ECO-mode, etc.
Also antivirus software slowing down the boot process.
What antivirus software do you use?

I use the avast! and the Avira antivir software. Both can be downloaded for free.
I have remove the Symantec Norton Antivirus software preinstalled, because it needs a lot of resources and slow down my laptop extremely.

Error message from Norton 3039 65553 filter manager not lit

    Disconnected Error Message wireless adapter

IMO, this kind of response is yet another reason to remove all Symantec software 'security' of your computer.

As far as I know, Microsoft Windows Filter Manager is software that is designed to be used by third-party developers (it is in this case Symantec) for simply integrating their software in Windows.  It is not controlled by the user.

That said, it is possible (no guarantee) If you provide information in Event Viewer that relates to the crib of filter, someone here may be able to help.

    • Open the event viewer (start > run > eventvwr > OK)
    • Look in the Application logs and system warnings and errors
    • Double-click a warning or an error of knowledge (properties)
    • If the Filter Manager produces an error, it will probably be in the system log
    • When (if) you find an entry that relates to the Manager of Windows filters, click on the "copy" icon in the properties of the page (just below the up/down arrows) and paste the information into your answer here "

But you should consider seriously really get Norton Removal Tool and Norton replacement with something else.

  • KB2585542 and error 0 x 80070005

This is more information than a request for assistance.

It is all on a box of XP Pro sp3 with all critical updates installed.  A / V is eSet NOD 32 v. 5 with a current subscription.  No firewall left 3rd or other active antimalware applications.

On Jan. 10, I visited Microsoft Update and install the updates offered.  KB2585542 failed with error 0 x 80070005 (access denied).

    I tried again on Jan. 10, M.U. with another failure 0 x 80070005.

Yet once, also the 10 Jan automatic update failed with 0x80070005.

On 15 February, automatic update has tried installing KB2661637 but failed with error 0x80070005.

A few minutes later, A.U. tried again, and this time KB2661637 successfully installed.

It is this second test on 15 February that forced me to look at the history of the update where I saw chess repeated for KB2585542.

However and this is where it is interesting, when I looked for KB2585542 and checked security bulletin files that should have been updated, all have been properly updated.  There is also a $NTUninstallKB2585542$ created 10 Jan.  Despite the information displayed in the history update, this update seems to have been successfully installed.

In reviewing the history of the update, I noticed several other updates which initially failed with 0x80070005, but subsequently installed successfully.

I don't know what to do with all this.  What is causing the access denied error seems to be temporary and not permanent.  This seems to suggest that it is not malware or a conflict with my A / V, but I don't know what else it could be.  I saw this thread, but the solution proposed in the upper part of the thread seems to aim at Vista and Win 7 rather than XP, so I did not - and I have not read all 12 pages of the thread.

I don't think I have a problem, but any idea would be appreciated.

You have not need to install these UPDATES option .

My concern on Service #1, is that the computer may have been compromised/infected If Service was not auto-update itself at least once a day while it was still installed.

#2 is the fact that may not have fully uninstalled Service before the installation of NOD32.

That being said, Symantec, Norton, and McAfee applications are notorious for not to uninstall (or upgrade) itself. Although there are removal of Norton & McAfee tools available to take care of any "leftovers", he can't even for Symantec. In short, the "leftovers" from Symantec can cause your Windows Update problems.

And no, the Norton removal tool can be used to remove the Symantec "remains".

Otherwise, I'd say you're good to go.

Each of the last depressed, ibmfilter.sys is involved in error checking.

Still, the nature of the kernel stack overflow is that all these filter drivers may contribute to the problem.  Most of the attached drivers are Symantec drivers, it seems reasonable that remove the Symantec software would certainly take care of the issue.  However, remove the Chuck ibmfilter can free enough battery to avoid the problem as well.  Or update the drivers involved could also have an impact, if changes have been made to account for this type of situation.

  • New PC Toshiba laptop, Windows 8 is broken

I just bought a laptop Toshiba p70 brilliant, pre-loaded with windows 8. Ive tried to get my bearings as im much more familiar with XP, but im having a problem serious.

Windows Update does not work. (I tried the application of the resolution of the problems, it just gets stuck start bits service after her stop them)

Windows store does not work. I discovered this when I read that the application Microsoft Fix - It has been recommended to solve the above problem. He told me that the application was not made for my version of windows, so I tried to go to 8.1 and I can't.

Windows Firewall does not illuminate. It's just the habit. I click Activate, and he sits there and doesn't do a thing.

IM handcuffs here. The solution is a new problem. I can't update, I can't upgrade. I can't solve the problem because theres more problems. The laptop has 16 GB of ram, i7 processor, im not working do not with a dog here, and microsoft has just completely dropped the ball.

I'd also like to mention is my Toshiba Service Station will not be updated. I have Internet connectivity, Firefox and IE works, but what's new more I explore the more white screens stuck loading I receive. That's why I tried to update. Ad nauseam.

My last laptop was a l300 preloaded with Vista. And I worked around it for all of 2 weeks before the headaches became so crazy I have she dumped for XP. But this laptop was underpowered, under Vista and had much more flexibility with XP.

ID rather not have to drive all the way back to Future Shop to the difficulty a lot of questions that have nothing to do with them. Ive google of these problems, but I don't know where to start. I tried stop bits in the command prompt and it used to do. Besides, why should I pay for software that needs to be painstakingly repaired? Instead of spending hours searching, I say drop a line here could raise some results while I move on to sift through thousands of threads on this site among other people trying to get a functional operating system operational. Any ideas?

I owe you guys an apology. I solved the problem last night. While exploring the center of the action, I noticed that the firewall was turned off and I could not activate it. I opened the windows firewall settings and found the problem. Norton internet security operated instead of the firewall. It came preloaded on the phone, but I had never him has allowed or enabled services, but it is running. Have a deep hatred seed its garbage software and symantec, I removed all traces of it from the computer. Alto, EACH issue is resolved.

So is this Toshiba who charge this extra software on the operating system? Because he does not play well with windows. Once again I apologize for being quick to blame microsoft, my vista experience is to blame.

If support engineers, you first recommendation for software questions should be remove any Symantec software before troubleshooting. Maybe add it to the windows defender malware definition files as it might as well be a virus itself.

    Thank you.

  • Cannot install Windows 8 due to ASUS AI Charger Plus - Incompatible with Windows 8

    Hello

It has been two days now trying to get rid of the virus this is the ASUS AI Charger that prevents my upgrade of Windows 8 to continue.

I used to own an Asus M/B, until he was struck by lightning and moved to a card mother Gigabyte and use it for months. I purchased Windows 8 and do an upgrade and now hit the following problem:

ASUS HAVE load more - uninstall this application now because it is not compatible with Windows 8.

For the life of me I can not uninstall this application completely. I tried literally everything I know and the results are always the same, the application is removed, but installing Windows 8 keeps pick it up.

That's what I've done so far:
    Standard uninstall via Add/Remove programs
Symantec PC Performance Toolkit uninstall and clean registry
    Revo Uninstaller
Manual removal of the keys of all with the words "ASUS" and "AI Charger.
    MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall
    Windows Install Cleanup
I also re-installed this application with several versions and tried the things above several times and just can not remove this thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Miguel

There are some newspapers that you can watch here:

    C:\Users\[yourusername]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WebSetup\Panther

In the Panther folder, you could look at newspapers such as the setupact.log and setuperr.log.

The AppData folder is 'hidden' so make sure that you are set up to see the hidden files and folders.

I suspect that an older version of ASUS AI Charger is marked as the new version not marked.

Find any ASUS directory in the Program Files directory and the Program Files (x 86) directory.

Look for a folder of Asus under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node registry key

  • PCoIP on HP t5740?

We received a couple of thin clients HP t5740 to the test. They run Windows Embedded Standard 2009 (XPe). They came with View Client v3 so they only RDP. I want to be able to use PCoIP on them, so I installed View customer 4 (Update 1). The VDI infrastructure is running on vSphere 4 U1. I can still use RDP after the installation of the new client view, but whenever I try to use PCoIP I get a black screen. I connect to a Windows XP desktop. Black screen does not disappear after 10 seconds (that I've seen in other messages), and I opened the 50002 UDP and TCP port in the Windows Firewall. I'm looking for someone who has a t5740 to see if they work PCoIP, or if anyone knows where I can look at to understand this. Thank you!

We have over 20 of these terminals and can assure you that PCoIP works very well.
