  Uninstaller for each update folder no longer exists in Vista and the uninstall information is stored by the Volume Shadow Copy service.

I backed up all my drivers on DVD and I downloaded a clean copy of Vista using an ISO on a DVD burner. I reinstalled the new copy put in my original product key, and he agreed.   Stop disconnect the external drive before you delete the catalog releases and select Remove from the disk.

  Otherwise, you will need to manually, delete them externally or reimport then them select all, make sure previous import is selected, Photos and then delete and remove disk.
