Remove the screen "Welcome" (iMovie 10.1.1)

I managed macs in a University laboratory.  iMovie is a popular choice for students with no experience in video editing.  If students do not start their project by creating a new library, their projects will be erased when disconnecting.  I had been teaching students to key press 'Option' launch iMovie so that they will be immediately asked to create a new library.

Since the iMovie 10.1.1 update a welcome screen appears and upset my workflow 'Option '.  Now students either have to hold the Option key while clicking through the double welcome screens, or use file > open library > New.

Anyone know of a backdoor to disable or remove the Welcome screen?

10.1.1 has not changed how iMovie opens. The only time where you see the home screen is the first time you open the application, or if you removed the preferences. I guess it is related to how your lab is set up. It seems that when each student open iMovie, they are considered as a new user. You have the application on each computer or what they download it from a server? Each user has his own account. Cannot offer many suggestions not knowing about the configuration of your laboratory. But I would look into the way in which the lab is configured as probably the cause of your problem. Normally, iMovie 10.1.1 will open with the button option button in a window to select a library to open it with a button at the bottom to create a new library.

    Maybe your Windows operating system is confusing upward.

    Have you tried to boot Win 7 in safe mode?
    Try this. Restart your laptop, press the F8 key.
    In advanced startup options, select the option called Mode without failure.

    If the laptop does not start Safe Mode, try the last good known Configuration option.

    If this n t help, try to fix my computer. Here, you can choose between different settings.

    Nev

    Hello

    I t is recommended to remove the screen and open it.
    The screen is one of the most expensive parts of the laptop.
    If you have no experience in such proceedings it is possible that you may damage the entire screen.

    However, I think the screen is fixed with screws that you will find the image of the screen. But in your case, I recommend contacting the service to remove the dead bug.
    The guys have more experience and can remove it more quickly.

  • Remove the screen bezel on a G575

    I removed the two screws under the rubber covers on the lower left and lower right of the screen, but I'm still not able to easily remove the screen bezel my G575.

    I try to be as gentle as possible to avoid snapping the plastic. Are there special techniques for this?

    See you soon

    Turns out that following the instructions for a G570 works very well.

  • Remove the screen on the menu Manager, click

    Currently I have a screen, the user can bring up the menu and select an option that displays a series of buttons in a fieldmanager.  It works very much like on click menu create and add buttons to the Manager then the screen.  I want to do now is if the user selects an option in the menu to delete the buttons I'd remove the screen Manager.  I'm trying to do the following (taken from another thread)

       private MenuItem _hideGraph = new MenuItem("Hide graph",110,10)
        {
            public void run()
            {
                try{
                    UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable(){
                        public void run()
                        {
                            synchronized(UiApplication.getEventLock()){
                            delete(gridFieldManager);}
                         }
                     });
                }catch(Exception er){
                    System.out.println(er);
                }
            }
        };

    A mistake is not printed, but made a mistake.  Is it possible to remove the handler in this way?

    initialize in the constructor of your display manager, for example. Another option would be to return, but I prefer the first one for a better overview.

    in your case:

    declare the handler as a class variable in the class of your screen. initialize it in the constructor. Add and remove it from your menu methods.

    a general Council: instead delete, you can use replace. at least if you use several insertion/removal routines you can lose the correct index quickly, and if you add a field then rewriting half of your code. for this reason I use a NullField who is not active, I add them to the places where I want to dynamically insert managers.

  • displaying a message on the screen 'Welcome' to ESX 4.1

    Hello everyone

    you know a way to pop up / display a message on the Welcome screen of the classic ESX 4.1 Script perl, call API, or other cli

    running on the ESX host?

    We need feedback from ESX custom script that runs in the background on the ESX console.

    Lamw for ESXi method does not unfortunately for ESX 4.1 Classic.

    (see, lamw http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2010/09/how-to-add-splash-of-color-to-esxi-dcui.html( )

    the-m option of esxcfg-advcfg change the/etc/vmware/welcome, but I think that it is not used by the screen "Welcome" here.

    so far, I've seen only kernel warning appear on the Welcome screen.

    Best regards

    rub1

    No, this feature is not exposed in any API/CLI and I don't think it will be never exposed... especially knowing that ESXi will be in the future.

    Take a look at this post where you change what are virtual consoles, read in the files, perhaps something that you use, but yet once, it is probably not supported by VMware - Re: change the text console esx

  • Windows 7 Home premium stuck on the screen 'welcome. '

    My Asus laptop has a few problems. Sometimes it freezes, about once every month, and I have to force shutdown by pressing the power button. So I restart and display of users rises. I click on my user. But typing me in the password box is not launched, or sometimes it comes up, so I type in my passoword. screen 'Welcome' comes up and last forever (literally, I waited for two days).

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Johnny,.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Method 1:

    Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, etc.) except the keyboard and mouse and then start. If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then download software updated driver for the device.

    Method 2:

    Try to start in last good known Configuration and see if you can start very well.

    Using the last good known Configuration

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/using-last-known-good-configuration

    Method 3:
    If the problem persists, I suggest you to check if you can start the computer in Mode safe or not. If Yes, try to perform the system restore, safe mode and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Start in Safe Mode.

    Start your computer in safe mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2: Run the system restore.

    What is system restore?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-is-system-restore

    Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

    Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.

  • Satellite M35 Pro - how to remove the screen bezel?

    Hey everybody,

    Please help me, I was able to disassemble the computer laptop everything and now I have the screen and the top cover out as well. I don't know how to remove the display frame to remove the hinges.

    Can you please help me with this!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    Well my friend, in my opinion you should not try to disassemble the laptop if you n t have the necessary experience and don t know to do this!
    You could damage other parts that you know

    You're stuck on the LCD mask?
    As far as I know the LCD mask is covered by two screws that are hidden under the joints.
    You will need to remove both seals of mask LCD, and then you could remove the two screws hidden under the seals mentioned.
    Then, you could put your fingers between the mask and the LCD screen in order to release the LCD mask plastic locks.

    But note; Be careful, don't use any force!

  • Tecra M5 - how to remove the screen hinges

    Hello

    I need to replace the hinges of the screen (well one of them anyway)
    I have the manual maintenance and computer in bits.

    The manual says "Disassemble the hinge (left) while drag and spin it.", but no matter how hard wiggle/slide/tour that I can't get out.

    Same problem with one of the other side.

    Someone has it already done this and have any advice or know of an educational video somewhere?

    TFAI

    Hello

    To my knowledge there is no textbooks that would show you how to disassemble the unit. Such dismantling manuals are made for the Toshiba service guys.
    Then maybe you'll find some tips and tricks on YouTube or would need to contact a Toshiba technician to remove

  • Ho do I remove the screen of my Equium U400?

    My Equium U400 requires withdrawal of screen I need to replace the broken Ribbon. I can get the frame surrounding the loose screen, but the lower part of the image seems to stick because of the hinges. I tried to remove the screws on the underside of the laptop under the hinges, it seems to loosen their but the screen won't come easily away. I don't want to force and breaking so thought I would ask some advice.

    Any ideas?

    Hi mate

    Disassembly of the laptop is always delicate _and if you have no experience, you should ask someone for assistance. _

    On the pages of Toshiba, you will find not all manuals that might be useful to disassemble the laptop, it seems that these manuals are not for public use, but only for the people of the ASP.

    You will need to look in the internet for useful pages.
    I found a page irisvista.com there are many images useful and instructions

    Good luck

    If no it can't do so what buying a mini port for cable HDMI and running 'mirror' to an HDTV with the iMac screen removed?

    Basically don't want to be down while the screen is out for repair

    I don't think that your iMac will start without the installed screen.
