Removed HP tools intended, no increase in drive C

I am running Windows Vista on a HP Pavilion g I need more space on my C drive, so I deleted the partition HP tools after checking that he was allowed to do so.  But, unlike the recovery partition that I removed (and, Yes, I did 4 DVDs for recovery), the removal of the HP partition Tools did not free space deleted.  The OP for the computer says he has '500 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection' real estate C shows that the total size of 320 GB.  I need more space. What can I do?  Thank you!

Hello

Hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.  Click disk management in the left pane and let that loading the partitions.  If you see an entry for "unallocated space" see if you can right click on the C partition and select Extend to add this space on the C drive.

Kind regards

  • Does anyone know if Microsoft intends to increase the limit of 256 characters on the path/file names?

It seems Im bumping up against the limit of 256 characters for path names / quite frequently these days. The increase of 8 + 3 characters for the file names, to the era of MS-DOS, to 256 characters/path of the file names is a wonderful thing when it was first implemented. But 256 limit character on the file + path names seems now quite inadequate. I'd even dare to suggest that increasing the limit above 256 would be more than just a nice update, but a required progress to catalogue the catalogue in full expansion of the knowledge we have today. Anyone know if Microsoft intends to increase this limit of 256 characters on the path + filename anytime in the near future?

My recommendation is to increase the limit to a maximum of 256 characters to 4096 characters for the path + filename. This should be sufficiently comfortable for a few years anyway.

  • How can I remove bit locker option from my hard drive?

I have a password on one of my local hard drives using bit locker. now, I want to remove this password. How can I remove tht?

    Hi HaBiB JHoN,

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
The best way to remove BitLocker on windows 7 32-bit is to follow the following steps.
    a. click on start
    b. click Control Panel
    c. whereas the Control Panel, find the Bitlocker Drive Encryption icon, click on it
    d. here you will see all the partitions on your hard disk and their encryption status, whether encrypted or not.
    e. that is encrypted, you will find an option to turn off bitlocker. Click on it and wait for the machine to decrypt.

    Method 2
To prevent losing access to drives protected by BitLocker in case of failure of the TPM secure, forgotten passwords or loss of smart cards or USB keys, it is important that you have a way for administrators to access to BitLocker drives. BitLocker supports the following methods to retrieve access to protected drives:

    a. recovery key or recovery password. You can use a BitLocker recovery password or a recovery key. If a BitLocker key is not available, as in the case of a missing SmartCard or forgotten user password, a 48-digit recovery password can be used to unlock the protected drive. In place of a password, a recovery key which has been stored in a file on a removable media such as a USB flash drive, can also be used to unlock the protected drive.

    b. backup key in Active Directory Domain Services. Password recovering BitLocker can be stored in Active Directory Domain Services. This allows administrators, such as the personal assistant of office help users retrieve drives protected by BitLocker when they have forgotten or misplaced their recovery password.

    c. data recovery agent. A data recovery agent is the person designated as a system administrator, who can use his administrative credentials to unlock BitLocker-protected drives. BitLocker is not configured with the default data recovery agents, neither data recovery agents are enabled by default. They must be enabled and configured by using Group Policy.

Hey guys! Tried once more to remove the driver and install it with the Recovery Manager. Don't know how, but this time it worked.

In fact I've disappointed with HP updates, won't be tester for you. I'm tired of these bugs after updates (utility Cool sense, Beats Audio etc.).

No, at least not by us.

Open a hard drive for some reason any at all can be done in special
laboratory as parameters. Something else will destroy the disk.

There are companies trying to recover data from broken disks,
and they are sometimes successful. And who knows, maybe they
sometimes use methods such as what you describe.

But if you plan to use such a company, know what they
are all very expensive. It does not for most people.

For the future, if you have files you want to be sure are not
lost, make sure to have in place a backup procedure on a regular basis the
