Rename LVLIB containing LLB

Please can someone corrects me if I try to use the structures of LabVIEW files incorrectly.

I built a free figure instrument driver - contained in a LVLIB

It refers to a code written by the H/W manufacturer which was provided in a LAW degree.

Problem:

The whole point of going to the rout of the LVLIB, when I get another variant of the H/W that requires different parameters or discussions on a different protocol speed (but use the same command, the value set, but the manufacturer in the LLB), I want to create a new LVLIB for the new project, I am working on so that my S/W modules match the H/W modules.

When I do cela LLB references are falling apart and need to use with Manager of LLB.

If I save the save LVLIB corrupts.

Is there a solution to this issue - other than to remove the code from the LLB?

James

You could simply not include the LLB in the lvlib. It seems to me that the lvlib is for your code, rather than a set of third-party code, so, technically, the LLB shouldn't really be in the lvlib. You can also simply convert the LLB to a directory, because the LLB is simply a container of fancy. (I'm not sure if that's what you mean by removing the code of the LLB).

  • Best practices - dynamic distribution of VI with LV2011

I'm the code distribution which consists of a main program that calls existing (and future) vi dynamically, but one at a time. Dynamics called vi have no input or output terminals. They run one at a time, in a subgroup of experts in the main program. The main program must maintain a reference to the vi loaded dynamically, so it can be sure that the dyn. responsible VI has stopped completely before unloading the call a replacement vi. These vi do not use shared or global variables, but may have a few vi together with the main program (it would be OK to duplicate these in the version of vi).

In this context, what are best practices these days to release dynamically load of vi (and their dependants)?

If I use a library of project (.lvlib), it seems that I have to first build an .exe that contains the top-level VI (that dynamically load), so that a separate .lvlib can be generated which includes their dependencies. The content of this .lvlib and a .lvlib containing the top-level VI can be merged to create a single .lvlib, and then a packed library can be generated for distribution with the main .exe.

This seems much too involved (but necessary)?

My goal is to have a .exe for the main program and another structure containing the VI called dynamically and their dependents. It seemed so straighforward when an .exe was really a .llb a few years ago

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Continue the conversation with me here is the solution:

Runs like a champ. All dependencies are contained in the packed library and the dynamic call works fine.

  • 10 error again VI Library.vi when generating .exe

It drives me crazy!  What is the cause.  The program has worked in 8.5.1 and before.  The only thing that has changed is that I had to create directories for each class in the Microsoft report generation Toolkit which has been a pain huge himself.  Building to see an EXE in LabVIEW 8.6 using Report Generation Toolkit application note for more information.  Anyway, any suggestion would be appreciated.

After having tested a lot more, I think I've identified the problem.  Our executable using Microsoft reporting tool.  Because of how LabVIEW 8.6 has implemented the box tool, it creates directories for each class to the Toolbox to avoid name collisions.  Perhaps LabVIEW should start using namespaces.  In any case, we didn't want the code to be visible for visitors.  We wanted it to be in a single executable.  So, I found an article in the knowledge base that solves the problem.  It's called "Managing the files from a build containing LabVIEW resulting Classes" and its document id is 4OKDCDES.  In any case this article says to add .llb destinations in the build so that instead of 5 directories with visible screws, you get 5 .llb.  It worked well without any problem of generation, but the article says then rename the .dll for the additional directories .llb me seems to resemble the dll.  The first time you build that this works, but if you build it again, it fails, and you receive error 10 code.  You can then build it again and it will work.  If the problem has to do with rename the extra .llb .dll.

  • Unit test Framework UTF Message error "Application Terminal invalid entry."

    Hello world

I have a rather strange behavior with the UTF:

I created a lvlib containing a few screws to be implemented by a student. To easily check if all requests are met, I created some Unit Tests.

On my computer, everything works fine. On his computer, the following error message appears:

Both computers are running on 2013SP1f2. Although mine has more power

Known problems with the UTF on older PCs? Or specifically requested: where this error is from?

  • Projects and project libraries

I have luckily been using projects since their introduction in LabVIEW 8 - something.

I have a project whose job is to look at the trees of directories containing the other screws in some cases, screw my code reviews have the same name as a screws used in the code (I am slot in development, not of an executable Mode).  To avoid "name conflicts", I did a search on and learned namespaces on the project libraries.

So I have brought successfully on all the files in my project in a project the same library name.  The code works fine.

Today, I opened my project to watch one of my screws, and to my horror, the project had No files showing.  He also did not show the library project (where I "knew" all the files are located).  A little worried, I looked on my drive and found the project library file (.lvlib) - if I double-click on it, there are my files!

What I do have trouble (maybe because it's impossible!) becomes an 'inside' view of my library of Project Explorer project.  In view of the close relationship between the projects and the project libraries (the second is created from the beginning, for example), I expected to see such a link.  Are there?  Or are you expected to open both a project (which, in my case, has files that are not in the project library) and the corresponding project library?

Note that I did a search in the Documentation OR on the project libraries, and what I've read has pointed out the close relationship between a project and an associated project library, including giving them the same (or similar) name and now the files in the same folders.  [Hmm - I just realized I did not name my project and the library identically - I called the project "Project XYZ" and the "Library XYZ" library project...].

Experience "on the ground" would be welcome!

    Bob Schor

The library project is just an xml file containing links to all of the objects that make up the project. A .lvlib is also an XML file that contains links to the objects he owns. Screws are marked as belonging to a library. They do not belong to the project. If the .lvlib is included in the project, you will be able to expand to see the items it contains. You don't need to have a project to create a .lvlib. You can create a file/new in the getting started window. You can drag any .lvlib in a project as you can a VI. You shouldn't screw that contains a .lvlib existing in the Project Explorer. Also remember that the .lvlib contains no screws or other objects. If you open it in Notepad, you will see a list of objects.

What probably happened, is that you did not save the .lvproj after creating and adding the .lvlib. All you would have to do is find the .lvlib in Windows Explorer and drag it to your project.

  • single process SV - required generation

LV 2011 SP1 (only use DAQmx, GPIB, & RS422, not in real time)

Can't find a quick answer for that.  I know how to build and deploy the network published SV with an EXE but not single-process.

I inherited someone of code that uses 2 unique processes shared in a unique LVLIB variables.

    (1) the LVLIB container must be included in always included to build?

    (2) are the included MS - SVs automatically included in the EXE?

    (3) the Source file settings requires a line item for the LVLIB?  It can simply be assigned to the item *.exe?

    (4) because there is just no network not associated with SV, I see no reason to include the EVS element for installation of LVRTE. True?

    (5) possibly related: once built and launched, the application cannot locate the typedef used for one of the MS - SV the typedef is used elsewhere in the code (so should be included in any case).

    Thanks for a quick reply.

    Dave

You did not say what the real problem - exe can not be built at all? It does not start? Something works do not?

As for point 5), go to the SV type data options and choose Disconnect in typedef (or something like that). I had a lot of problems with SV binded to typedef, they works just not in applications applications (in fact, don't use no SVs in exes and you'll do just fine ).

  • How can I individual files contained in a llb file md5 sum?

How can I individual files contained in a llb file md5 sum?

I'll assume you know how to get the value of MD5. If it isn't... http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/MD5/m-p/1067558

The LLB acts as a container. So, you will need to extract the files of the LLB and save them as individual files, so that you can calculate the MD5 checkusm for each file. LabVIEW is a built-in LLB Manager which can be used to convert a LAW degree to a directory of files.

Note: If you use the LLB to store your screws during development, it is a BAD idea (control of source code, a file corruption problems corrupts all LLB, nightmare of development distributed, etc...). LLBs must be used for the distribution of the code, and if you need a MD5 for that, you could just provide the MD5 for the Bachelor of LAW, rather than the MD5 for each file.

  • Lose weight - creation plug-ins LLB, using lvlibs, minimizing the size of the LLB

    Greetings,

Is there a way to build LLBs include specific screws of VI - lib, but include all lib VI screws?

I added an AALPro.vilib function in the hierarchy and, as expected, it didn't see the place in the LLB after construction.  In the past, I have re-written screws of VI - lib but I don't get lazy, so I unchecked "exclude files lib VI" in [LV8.5] - project properties - and the size of the plug-in went from 13 M to 50 M.  I hope there's a way to minimize this weight gain - an easier way of re-writing the hierarchy/function of AALPro.

    Any help is appreciated.

    See you soon!

    Hi to determine,

Try to add the .lvlib to your project.  You should be able to add the specific VI that you want to the llb without adding the rest of them.  Let me know if it works for you!

  • In Win7, how move you or rename a single multimedia file or media files containing single file without causing the library of Windows Media Player become corrupt?

I am trying to manually rearrange media in a way and records are arranged and named on my Win7 PC. I need to be able to move and rename files and folders individual.

The problem is that the traditional method of doing such things (i.e. the cut/Paste and Rename commands in Windows Explorer) will cause the damaged Windows Media Player library. It seems that all the changes to the paths of the multimedia files must be made in the Windows Media Player interface. However, I'm unable to find options to move or rename files or folders in WMP.
I am aware that there is a way to move and rename all the files and the folders that contain media files automatically, but not what I'm looking for. As far as I know, it does not allow me to select only the files and folders, and it offers very limited options for what could be the new places and names.
What is the feature I want to exist in WMP? If not, is it possible to do outside WMP which will not cause the damaged WMP library? (Also, if not, why not, Microsoft?)
    Thank you

    Hello

You can change the location of folders in Windows Explorer.
After changing the location, I suggest you to rebuild the Windows media player library.

  • on the use of LLB, Subvi and project

    Hi all

I have heaps of subroutines will necessary for all projects of development on the same computer. For a long time, I wrap each of these subprogrammes as a separate Subvi and call the Subvi when necessary. But I just saw that someone will build a LLB in contains all these Subvi. It will be the same to build the LLB or separate from the Subvi? So, what's the advantage of using LLB? I have seen that the builtin functions are all grouped together in a LLB. So if I create my LLB, where should I put this LLB so it will appear in the main palette?

The second question I have is what is a project concerns in labview 2013? I've been using labview 7 long and I create my project in a folder. But LV2013, I can creae a project and link everything in there. So what's the advantage of using a project?

    Thank you.

It's really no use for an llb. It was mainly used to store screws with long names - names that were not supported in the early days of the transition from the BACK. Storing files in a Bachelor's degree in labor law is a bit risky because a single corrupt VI will make everything unreadable llb. A Bachelor's degree in law is not appropriate for source code control. Source code control is able to follow the Bachelor of law and not individual files. The only time a law degree should be used must distribute released code. Better and this which is used is now the lvlib or packed library. One of the biggest hassles of older versions of LabVIEW is the inability to load different screw with the same name. Placed in separate vilibs, you can now do.

The advantage of the project is what you said - all linking together regardless of the actual location of the file. The project may contain files other than screws - word and excel for example files. A project is also required to create an exe file. The project contains the specifications of construction for the exe and Setup. A project can also contain DAQmx tasks. Even if you do not create an exe file, a project is always a useful organizing tool.
