• Computer laptop cracked screen sent for warranty repairs!

  I recently had my laptop that is only two months old (Qomisio X 10 500 t) sent back to Toshiba for repair of the fingerprint reader. When the left laptop was in perfect condition and not a top scratch. having paid £1,500 for it I was very careful to keep safe. Toshiba sent mail UPS to perceive and delieverd to Toshiba, it was the next day. When I contacted Toshiba to confirm that it had arrived safely, they said that it had happened, and the repair team had begun to look at this day. 4 to 5 days later, I checked the status of service online, and he said required information. So I rang the customer service and they said that there was nothing on the notes and all well aseemed. 2 days after (today) I get a phone call saying that they found no problem with the hardware with the fingerprint reader, but they found a problem with the screen. After hold that they say that they have noticed a crack in the screen and have a prize of £500 for me to get it fixed. OMG! I told them that there are no cracks/scratches or anhthing when he left via UPS (their courior). I was asked if I had checked that UPS box and pacakaged it safely in front of me. They then say that they will contact me in 48 hours but the team repair always photograph the machines when they come in and say now it was cracked since the beginning. They sent me an email of the photo and there is massive cracks curved towards the bottom of the right side of the screen! Even then, they had the nerve to ask if I'd like to send them the quote so I said no cos I wouldn't pay for the repair of it.

  So what's with that position? Are they not corrected the original sin is the courior sent by Toshiba or Toshiba repairs broke the screen. I have no evidence that it wasn't like that before. I don't understand why Toshiba didn't ring the day they received, if there was a crack whethey opened the package? They would surely do this before even touching anything else. I think that the repair team broke and said it was like this before

  What should I do? I can't afford to pay for the repairs and even if I could I don't see why I should!

  I have a DV6-3120US I bought in December 2010 and the Palm started to crack. Which is unusual because I do not use the keyboard on the laptop itself. I use a desktop and mouse keyboard because keyboard on the laptop is floating and it takes just a few use. The crack is not the heat. It is not overheating and it sits on my desk on a cooling block. I have not dropped it and he only left my office to travel twice since I've owned it. Basically I have he pampered the last 9 months. My question is HP will replace it under warranty? It is NOT something that I did and we see on the photos I'm posting it spreads through the Palm even under the HP sticker. It looks like a defect of manufacturing/for me.

  I have owned 5 Lenovo/IBM ThinkPad to the thread of years and never had a problem like this. Of course I got scratches on them (I used for business) but they never cracked. This HP laptop (this is my personal laptop) doesn't even have one scratch other than the crack shown above.  It is still under warranty. How would it be best to contact HP about this? I don't want to go through the technicians countless try to explain my problem since the functions of the laptop. I could not find a part number for the Palm. HP partsurfer there just something on my laptop.

  Its going to be hard to say that HP will cover it under warranty, it will be too easy for them to cop out and say that you caused, but all you can do is try. I would send it for repairs unless you get some kind of email (evidence) that says that they will certainly cover it, I see too many people post that they send in, so that the request is rejected.

• Palmrest squeaky T61

  Hi all

  First post. I tried to do a search but couldn t find a post dealing with my exact problem.

  I had my T61 for about a month and used only for a few weeks. Suddenly, the left button of the mouse equivalent under the touchpad became squeaky - and especially the half left of the button. I tried to use compressed air, in which case there was dust or something else causing noise, but it helps didn t. Then, I removed the screws to remove the palmrest to look more closely at it. The noise is still there when the palmrest is deleted, so I guess it's a mechanical problem with spring (correct English word?) that needs to be oiled or something.

  Ideally, I would take a look still closer, but there seems to be some sort of special screws holding a small metal panel above the left and right click of buttons, which I am unable to remove it with standard tools. In addition, now after reassembling the T61, I notice there is a cracking noise when I put my hand in the lower right area of the palm rest, which I am not sure whether it is new or was it all first.

  I would add that the keyboard broke when I was looking for the serial number on T61, and I'm not sure if I was able to adequately replace. Is it only the two "slots" on the end of the keyboard which are drag into place? It seems to be a bit wobbly when the Palm is not in place, and there is a small part of metal that seems loose under the left corner of the keyboard. I'm not sure that this position should be, as it doesn´t seem to do anything.

  Any suggestions on how to proceed? The cracking, I can live with (However, prefer to fix), but the left button that squeaks is really boring. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I ve seen many good crew answers on this forum tonight, so I hope you can help me out - preferably with a do-it-yourself solution.

  Unfortunately, it's one of those things that are of great difficulty. If you can, I recommend referring to the Lenovo and repair because there is really nothing you can do.

  I use a 6 s iPhone for almost a year. Recently my cousin threw to the ground violently. I picked up and saw that the screen was cracked badly. There was a hole in the side at the bottom right, I could easily see the material of the speaker.

  First of all, on the first day, speaker, touch, touch id worked. Second day, touch has not worked, but the calls came. due to the touch, I couldn't answer.

  Second, on the third day, the calls came but were not sounds. vibration worked. but I felt that he had become slow to unlock and lock. sounds came later.

  Now, I want to correct. I saw in the apple website which display could be repaired. I guess that there are a lot more problems and cracks on the inside. Besides I don't have an Apple store in my country Bangladesh, South Asia. All I have is some authorized stores.

  I don't know if it will be fixed or not. Please tell me the cost and how to fix it. I don't have AppleCare.

• iPhone 6 Silicone Case cracking

  Apple apply to their case of silicone deteriorating? I had this case for about 10 months now, and other than the covering sweet friction than it also begins to form cracks that grow fast enough (as shown in the images). The crack along the volume buttons grows so fast that I doubt the case split for more than a few weeks before becoming two separate pieces.

  

  I feel that this is something that that should be on Apple, but what are my options?

• iPad high reading after repair

  I wore an iPad Mini flea market today, and the seller told me that he had the screen replaced as the original was cracked. I then left the iPad for a while and when I picked it back again, it seemed to work as expected (except for the home button). I will try to reinstall the software via iTunes and see if that helps; because I think it could have been a glitch in the software that caused the iPad for it. What are your thoughts?

  I suggest that you try to send back the iPad for a refund, unless she has been described to you as being faulty (instead of having only the apparent defects) when you bought it.
