Repair the installation in Windows XP safe mode: Posible?

Nice day

I'm working on my computer that has Windows XP Professional, after having removed the old version of Norton 360 and reinstalled the One updated. My computer keeps restarting every 2 seconds in Normal mode. I can boot into safe mode and safemdoe with networking. I checked the event log and it gives me this: error code 0000001 a, parameter1 00041785, parameter 2 c0e00000, 81c544c0 parameter3, parameter4 00000000. Is there a resolution to this? or can I make an instaollation of repair windows XP in safe mode?

Thank you

If you are unable to do things, I asked, I think your best course of action is to make sure that all your data is backed up safely (there are methods to get there, even if you cannot start in Normal mode), and then perform a clean installation correct.

This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode or if Windows Installer is not installed properly. Call support personnel. "They gave me similar messages by other programs I've tried to install as well.

Because I was not running Windows in safe mode in time, I assumed that the installer was not installed correctly. So I tried to download from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

But then I got error messages like "this update does not apply to your system" and "not enough memory is available to process this command." I tried all the links and none of them worked for me. I'm running a Vista Home Premium 64 bit, and I 2.38 GB of available RAM, so I don't think that the lack of memory is the problem here. What should I do?

  • New installation of Windows 7 translates speeds very slow of the internet. Works in safe mode.

    3 weeks ago, I installed windows 7.

For some reason, internet is super slow. I noticed right away because the download of the updates took forever. I thought it was because I need to install the NIC drivers, so I only have the first. It didn't fix it. Then, I searched and tried everything I could find online. The only thing that did work was that if I boot mode safe mode with network speed is very well .

When I discovered that, in safe mode, everything was fine, that I started to disable any service that relates to networking. (As the Base and support Ip filtering engine, etc) This does not solve it so I decided to try the oppisite I started in safe mode with network and then loaded to the top of msconfig and any service that was not running in safe mode, I turned off. Thinking that I start one by one and find out what service was slowing downloads. When I booted in normal mode, the download speeds were still broken.

So I continued then to disable services, I disabled all services which have to do with networking, and to enable windows.  (Things like the service that launches programs. Yes, any program that has not been opened I could not open.) Accordingly, I have concluded that it was not all services.

This is a new installation, so I only installed firefox and flash. (no flash for the speed test) no anti-virus, etc.

Here are a few screens of speed trials. These are actually kind of funny because the download is so fast that downloads.

It is in safe mode with network speed. http://imgur.com/7VJvt

It's the speedtest in normal mode, http://imgur.com/dDp5B

    So here's what I tried.

    • disabled auto-tuning
    • disabled IPv6
    • turned off homegroup
    • reinstalled drivers
    • drivers uninstalled (for default windows drivers)
    • Install different drivers (installed a game on the asus site) and the other on the nvidia site
    • disabled many services to many-on-list really out.
    • disabled Windows defender and windows firewall.
    • I bought new RAM with the win7 update so I tested to see if the RAM was bad. I ran Memtest86 + and it failed. So I took the new RAM and he run and all past. Still doesn't solve it.
    • I reinstalled.
    • I installed another network card.
    • I installed another version of Win 7. (Installed Win7 professional first and after Win7 Ultimate)
    • reinstalled the drivers again.
    • Disable all of the services.
    • A run anti-virus programs. To make sure that there are no viruses. There are not.
    • I connected directly to my router.

    FIXED!

So I gave up and gave my computer to my friend at home and take a look. He brought me.

What did do? He went out and bought a new network card. I guess that despite the windows NETWORK card drivers 7 I installed windows for some reason any dislikes the network card. (NVidia nForce 10/100/1000 Mbit / s) It is built in the nice for the card mother P5N - D.

The funny thing is that 3 1/2 weeks, when I had the problem. I asked him what he thought and he said to go out and buy a new network card. When I hesitated to do so, he said he would buy the NIC if it did not work.

In any case, I hope this helps someone maybe who has the same problem, I did.

After the installation of Windows 7 repair I 219 updates. Best way to install? Small batches... oldest first? Others?

In the previous 18 months there have been many updates toxic that caused problems... these fixes are well eliminated or fixed retroactively or this process will be as walk minefield?

I currently intend to install some office and .net updates separately and to wait on the optional updates updates security priority are installed.

    Thanks for any idea.

Properly installed all updates of security except IE11 upgrade [has a full update of IE8 that should cover most security problems... [Since I use Firefox... or whatever it is, but it is to say... no biggie].

I installed the updates [ie8, etc] 1 security and updates in batches of 20-30 for most recent first then older then. Then I installed the office updates and then a point net 3.51.research showed several versions of dot net needed.

After each batch, I did a restore pt.

Note: this repair facility corrected a connection problem that prevented programs and 32-bit browsers... including malwarebytes to connect to the net. I had followed the many expert suggestions to fix this problem without success before the repair facility.

  • Monitor goes into sleep mode during the installation of Windows 7

Hello, I'm doing a new install of Windows 7 pro on a new SSD. He gets regarding to reset for the second time during the installation, and just before showing the page where you name the computer and configure user accounts, the monitor goes to sleep and won't return. only way to recover is to reset the machine, only to do exactly the same thing again. Anyone know what could be the cause? I used the same disk of windows for many expenses format / install Windows after hardware upgrades in the past and this has never happened before. Can provide the complete specifications of the system if necessary. Help, please!

    Hi Danpedro,

I see that the screen goes into sleep mode, in the last step of installing Windows 7. I'll help you with this problem.

    1. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    2. you have an external display driver card attached to the motherboard?

    3. you format the hard disk during Windows 7 installation?

    Method 1.

Disconnect any external devices and restart the computer to see if it helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Method 2.

If you have a driver to attached external display card, then you can disable this external driver in the BIOS and check if that helps complete the installation of Windows 7.

    Warning of the BIOS:

BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Let us know if you need assistance with any windows problem. We will be happy to help you.

  • Leave Windows Vista Safe Mode

I used Norton Anti Virus to get rid of the 27 viruses on my computer.  I ran Norton in safe mode, and it got rid of all viruses.  However, now when I start the computer, it always starts in SafeMode even after several reboots.  I don't have the Windows Vista disk I can't do a system restore.  Anyone know how I can get out of safe mode?  Also, I don't know the administrator password.

You can do a restore of the system in safe mode, but you would have to return the territory of Malware.

Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    Hi MarcyDowning,

If the update is blocked for hours, then you can try to restart the computer and check if it starts in normal mode.

If not, then try to start in safe mode and try to perform a system restore:

    Step 1:

You can check the article to start in safe mode:

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

    Step 2:

If you are able to boot into safe mode, and then try to perform a system restore and check if you are able to boot into normal mode:

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

Note: When safe mode system restore, system restore points are deleted.

Once you are able to boot into normal mode, you can try to install the updates in batches containing updates 4 or 5 at a time and check if it helps.
