repeated KB2464594 and KB2446704 automatic update installations

AutoUpdates Windows have been installing several times since April 14.  (KBs in title).  I uninstalled them, turn off autoupdate, rebooted and then manually installed them, then reactivated autoupdate, only to have autoupdate to try to install them again.  How to stop this nonsense?

  • Keep automatic updates installation and restart request, cycling.

After a clean install of Windows XP Edition family, I was unable to install the automatic updates.  Installed service pack 3 manually as suggested in this forum.  But now he repeats to me there are updates to install, it downloads and installs, then said done and it needs to restart.  But when it gets to the top of the Update icon is still there and you have to do it again

    .

    Hello

    1) that updates are you referring?

    (2) are these same updates that are repeat?

Method 1: You can manually download by going to the Microsoft site and enter the KB with the number that is installed on several occasions.

    Microsoft Download Center

Method 2: Windows Update or Microsoft Update offers several times the same update

  • Both my vista system entered a repeated after the last automatic update reboot

I had just done file clean with Norton Utilities on both systems, during the restart of automatic updates has downloaded the latest vista updates.

Step 2 first load okay but when the phase 3 is to load I get the same message: configuration of updates of stge 3 of 3 0% complete do not turn off your computer and keeps it just reboot again and again.

One system, I could get back on line running a repair utility and go back to a restore point. No luck on the other still.

Tried all the advice, it's the only thing that finally worked.

    http://nctritech.com/vista_update_loop.php

Here is the short version for people who know how to get to tools to do this and if run restore system from the installation DVD does not work: DELETE the files \Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.xml AND (if applicable) will be fixed \Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml and the infinite loop updated.

There are two ways to get the files, you need to delete. The easiest is to start your installation of Windows and the button 'Install now' DVD, click on the link located at the bottom left that says 'Repair your computer' open a command prompt and type:

    del C:\Windows\WinSxS\cleanup.xml

    del C:\Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml

  • Errors during update of vista and use automatic updates. (Codes 0x8000fff and A 8024, 000)

I have a laptop HP HDX16. Recently, the hard drive has not then I replaced and the restore CD to return to factory settings. It's windows vista edition Home premium 64-bit with service pack one.

I use a usb huawei modem to connect to the internet, however, the drivers would not install properly.

I used another computer to download a version of service pack 2. However, 3/4 of the way through the installation I have error E_unexpected 0c8000ffff handler. I installed fixit 50202 I had seen on the forum, but this has not fixed the problem.

I then tried to run the installation program stand-alone windows update (KB947821-v4) However, this resulted in the 0xc8000247 error code.

I then tried to install the mobile fix it program to see is there something that could contribute. However there is no whenever he tried to install powershell.

I was able to use the usb modem by starting in safe mode and allowing unsigned drivers. From here, I tried to run the automatic update, but which gave the error code A 8024, 000. The usb modem wouldn't always work outside of safe mode.

I also tried a complete reinstall with the recovery discs, but I still get the same errors.

Norton antivirus is pre-installed. This was also replaced, but the same errors occurred. However, I was able to successfully install other software not microsoft.

For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for your response.

However, I found this thread: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_update/cant-update-anything-error-codes-8024a000/24591fff-a8d3-4151-b889-87402e30755d

and install the proposed pilot it (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02219204&cc=nl&lc=en&dlc=en&product). I was then able to install SP2, my usb modem worked and I was able to run the windows update, so I think that the problem has been corrected.

    Thanks again

    Thank you

    Hi Larrygrybos,

    ·         You receive an error code or error message for the update failed?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: You can try to manually download the Windows update client according to the edition of the operating system 32 or 64-bit:

    32-BIT downloads: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=178959

    64-BIT downloads: http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=178960

    Windows Update Error 80004002

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Windows-Update-Error-80004002

Method 2: I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and try to install the update.

You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

  • Why the Automatic Updates installs

I have 8 updates waiting to be installed include 4 for Vista and 1 for Internet Explorer.  Apparently install it, restart the computer but Setup fails, then the updates are back.  Why?

    Hi Joodpn,

Have you tried following the steps described in this article? If this article does not help there is a thread that deals with this issue with other updates that may help as well.

  • a kind of automatic update suddenly without warning started to close all the documents I was working on, rebooted and lost all the changes I had made in the past three hours

I've worked hard for three hours in the middle of the night, made extremely dfficult work on several Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. at the same time - the kind of work that you can do if you're sure not not to be interrupted. All of a sudden a few (probably Windows) update began to close the files one by one, "don't turn off your computer" was the message.
I waited. It restarts, but then I realized all of work my three hours had disappeared. The files are still there, but in their unchanged form. How is it you lose nothing if your battery runs out and you can restore the files, that you deliberately deleted, and there is a permanent record of each tiny websearch? However, Windows can come in the night and boldly to destroy three hours of irreplaceable forced labor without warning! I won't ever be able to replace it.

Set the automatic update process so that you can control if the updates to download and install.

And, as a general rule, always save files regularly while you work.

  • [Solved] pc with xp home edition as the operating system does not start after installation of SP2 via automatic updates

Hello everyone. After formatting my hard drive I reinstalled windows xp edition sp1 family and then installed the latest version of windows update agent. I have the auto update set to download the updates automatically and notify me when they are ready to be installed. Initially, he found 3 updates that I installed and rebooted. He concluded 58 updates. Again, I've installed and restarted. After that, we found ServicePack 2, I installed as well. But after the reboot, the pc does not start. What I get is the windows xp logo which discoloures after a few seconds and I don't see a bar moving from left to right. I left it like that for 3 hours, but nothing has changed. Also, it does not start in safe mode. I get a screen with red and green vertical lines in this case. Anyone know what's the problem? I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

I was finally able to solve this problem. That's what I did. I reinstalled windows xp home and followed the same path (but his definition of the automatic updates notify me before downloading or installing updates) until the automatic updates found in the new service pack 2. This time that I did not choose to download it. Instead I downloaded from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28 and then started in safe mode and installed. I don't know one that makes the difference but service pack 2 has been successfully installed this time and tha pc was able to start after installation. Before that, I also downloaded and installed the latest versions of 2 drivers through drivermax. I mention this in the case where he has also made a difference. After the service pack 2 installation and restart, automatic updates will be found a few others brought up-to-date, but after installation and reboot, it found no others. I had to visit update windows Internet explore and search for updates it and managed to find other updates and finally SP3.
