Windows 7 automatic update installation KB973688 fails

When KB973688 tries to install fails and returns code 643. Windows 7 update has worked well up until now. It seems as if the failure is associated with this particular update.

Any help would be appreciated.

  • How to stop windows vista automatic updates

Whenever I connect to the internet, I get an update automatic windows vista. This drains my allowance of month for the internet in a few minutes and I can't find an option to stop the download updates automatically.

It's cost me money, I pay to go on my internet allowance, and I can't stop it!

    See the following articles

You should not receive updates each time you turn on the computer. Microsoft releases security updates the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am PST. No security updates may appear to be the fourth Tuesday of the month. Updates to the Windows Defender definitions are issued twice a week. Windows Security Essentials (if you have one) will be updated daily. There are occasional updates outside this cycle. You should check your update history where an update fails to install and is given several times.

  • Keep automatic updates installation and restart request, cycling.

After a clean install of Windows XP Edition family, I was unable to install the automatic updates.  Installed service pack 3 manually as suggested in this forum.  But now he repeats to me there are updates to install, it downloads and installs, then said done and it needs to restart.  But when it gets to the top of the Update icon is still there and you have to do it again

    .

    Hello

    1) that updates are you referring?

    (2) are these same updates that are repeat?

Method 1: You can manually download by going to the Microsoft site and enter the KB with the number that is installed on several occasions.

    Microsoft Download Center

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/download/default.aspx

Method 2: Windows Update or Microsoft Update offers several times the same update

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

If looking for updates to hang on a current installation,

Switch your windows update setting to never check the updates temporarily

    Restart the machine

Then you download this from your download folder run from there.

take too long, it took all of 5 seconds, '' If '' windows update settings are turned on forever check

updates before running from the downloads folder.

    Once it installs and restarts

You can reset your updates affecting everything you had before default =...

    Then check the updates manually.
