  I am trying to install Windows 7 KB974431 update.  The download is successful, but when I restart my PC to complete the installation, I get an error of configuration and windows restores the configuration.  At the next startup, windows asks you to install the update again and the cycle happens all over again.

  You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

  These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.

  HP produce many models of n HP Envy Touchsmart Sleekbook 4.  You can get the drivers for your device out of the page HP drivers & downloads for your model. You will need to enter the exact model and follow the prompts. How can I find my model number or product number?

  When you have the page and you have selected the driver, click more details.  Installation instructions will appear.

  You could do a restore before it happened. Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

  You can also try a Refresh Your PC to solve problems (Windows 8)

  Did you try to uninstall and reinstall the driver in Device Manager?

  You can try to install the original driver in the Recovery Manager.  Using the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 8)

  You upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1?
