Replace the layer of the history feature.

Here is a little thing that I've been missing - the ability to replace a layer, with the stage of history active easily.

As an example lets say you have an adjustment layer, which have recently changed you. Compared with the initial snapshot, the one created when you open the file, and you say: "hit on what I this session looks like complete garbage, I want to quickly replace a layer of the snapshot. A control-click and choose "Replace the layer of history" would be a quick way to do it. Of course, this will work with any layer.

Of course, I am aware that it is a workaround where you can create a new document from any snapshot, then drag it to replace and delete the old layer - but this method click would be highly appreciated.

Thank you, enjoying your love and support.

Hmm, an interesting idea.

There will be some limitations: the depth, color and layer organization mode (at least close to the target layer) must match between States in history.   And I think he needs a little more the UI to make it understandable.

That we will add to the wish list.

    Hello

    Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

    If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

      then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

    If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
      (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

    When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

    If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • How to get back the "History" feature in my toolbar?

    My computer was recently newly restored and now I don't have a 'History' option in my toolbar, and I can't understand how to find and retrieve. It would show the history of each site, I went into the last day, week, and month.

    Thank you, Julie

    You can find the toolbar buttons to open the bookmarks (star) and history (clock) in the sidebar in the palette of the toolbar and drag it to a toolbar.

    • Firefox menu button > Options/Preferences > toolbars
    • View > toolbars > customize

    There are two buttons bookmark with a star in the window customize.

    One button star has a marker to drop that open a menu of bookmarks (you can not see the marker in the window customize).

    The other star button without the marker drop open bookmarks in the sidebar.

  • With Firefox, I used to be able to access the history of each tab individually, but this feature has disappeared. Is it possible to get it back?

    There used to be a button on the arrow next to the button front and rear which enabled access to the history for each individual tab. With the upgrade to 4.0.1 missing. Is it possible to recover this feature?

    You can get the menu drop-down by clicking on the previous/next buttons or now the left key pressed until the list is displayed.

    If you want the drop-down arrow, you can add it with the add-on of dropmarker rear - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker

  • Replace the layer source footage with After Effects Composition

    Hello!

    I have a question about the workflow of dynamic linking between Premiere Pro and After Effects. As common for most editing workflows, I started by import and organize my source footage. I then cut the entire project using the original footage. Now, as he comes to effects and final optimizations, I noticed that there are several items that I need to work in After Effects.

    I know (and use) the function 'Replace with After Effects Composition', but this only works for an item in the Assembly. I have dozens of clips from same source footage and would simply replace the master-clip with a composition. In this way, I can do the AE-job once that overall the clip and the whole project remains perfectly organized.

    As I read elsewhere, there is no characteristic that makes this replacement directly. Trying to "Replace Footage" with one generates an AE-project error. After Effects render and replace the images with the rendered results (as advised in a similar topic) is no option, given that I'd lose dynamic links in this way. My question is: Y at - it another way or the workaround to replace my source footage of the layer with an After Effects composition?

    Thanks in advance for the help and advice!
    Best regards

    What you can get in the way you want.  Your best option is to export a new clip of the AE and use it to a replace operation in the tray.

    In the future, as a Pseudo-solution you can put the 'AE' in their own, dedicated footage clips and change using these sequences, as if they were real clips.  This would allow you to keep the dynamic link in place.

    How to replace image on my layer exists?

    I have founded not nothing in Google, Documentation and examples.

    Hi mikhailv6888620 https://forums.adobe.com/people/mikhailv6888620>!

    Welcome to the forum!

    as I know there is no C API function for this.

    You can get the ID of the layer comp element and use AEGP_ExecuteScript() to find

    This point and change the source of the layer with the javascript API. (I do it

    as follows in one of my plug-ins)

    the text of this script is entirely internal in your plug-in. the user

    does not know that a call to java is involved... (if that matters to you)

  • Expression to replace the image according to the text of the layer.

    Hello, I wanted to ask you is it possible to replace the image in the function composition text text layer. That is the text layer contains code # 34 and expression indicates what kind of image should be placed according to conditions in expression of image.

    Sincerely, Deimantas

    Hello

    Expressions can not add/replace images.

    All images must be here somewhere, in the form of layers in the model or in a precomp, but not only as items in the project Panel.

    Then you can play with the opacity of these layers, with an expression of opacity to each of them:

    textLayer = (pickwhip the text layer that transports information);

    If (textLayer.sourceText == thisLayer.name) 100

    0 otherwise;

    The condition can be something different, for example "if (textLayer.sourceText is thisLayer.index"), etc, etc.

    Not clear what should be this condition in your case.

    Xavier.

  • A Script to find and replace the layer names

    Is there scripts to find and replace the names of layers?

    There is an excellent script available for Photoshop that allows you not only to replace words in layer names, but also insert words as prefixes, Suffixes and sequential numbers.

    The version of the illustrator of this script allows only sequential numbering: it does not offer search and replace words.

    Ideally, it would be great if there were something that could find multiple and replaces in a go:

    (for example

    You have layers like this car, the dog, the bat

    You enter: because (Option1), dog (Option2), Bat (Option3)

    Your layers become then: option 1, option 2, Option3).

    )

    Big_SmiLe, which is a very good start! Step 1 of learning how to Script is indeed, by adjusting an existing simple script to make things more complicated. (And usually then "break something", which is also a necessary part of the process.)

    You are right your comment, it comes to repetitive things. For one or two different articles that wouldn't be a problem, but in the longer lists you are soon lost.

    As usual to work with lists of search - replace is to build a table:

    var layernames = [
    [ 'FHairBowlBoy *Hair', 'Hairboy1' ],
    [ 'FHairCurlyafroBoy *Hair', 'Hairboy2' ],
    [ 'FHairSpikyBoy *Hair', 'Hairboy3' ],
    ];

    The general idea is to loop through all the names, check if the current layer name is "layernames [i] [0]" (the left column) and if so, rename it "layernames [i] [1]" (the right column). If you know how to write a loop in Javascript, then you can implement this immediately.

    However...

    A more advanced method to do this didn't need even loop on all layernames - instead you can immediately 'get' the correct name by layer! It's magic! Almost!

    The trick is to use a Javascript object rather than a table. JavaScript objects are nothing special; "Layers" of Illustrator are an array of objects, and each object 'sex' has a 'name' property, which you can read and set the value. What I do here, is to create a new object, where the part 'name' is the name of the original layer and its value is the name of the new layer. All you need to check each layer is if there is a "object.originalLayerName" property and if so, assign its value to this layer name.

    It looks a bit like the table above, except that (1) you use {.} instead of [..] to create an object and (2) you add pairs "name: value" instead of 'value' only (in fact, the 'name' of a value in a table is simply her number).

    So here's what it looks like:

    // JavaScript Document
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    // name indexed object
    var layernames = {
     'FHairBowlBoy *Hair':'Hairboy1',
     'FHairCurlyafroBoy *Hair':'Hairboy2',
     'FHairSpikyBoy *Hair':'Hairboy3'
    };
    // loop through all layers
    for (var i = 0; i < doc.layers.length; i++)
    {
     //Set up Variable to access layer name
     var currentLayer = app.activeDocument.layers[i];
     if (layernames[currentLayer.name])
     {
      currentLayer.name = layernames[currentLayer.name];
     }
    }

    Enjoy!

  • Replace the contents of the layer text by current image name

    Hi all new (I ve posted another topic about 1 hour ago )

    I have another question:

    Imagine opening an image called Gustavo.jpg (my name)

    Now, you manually create a layer of text placed at the right place and you type 'your name here '.

    This layer is selected in the layers panel.

    Now the question:

    Is there a simple way to make a script that replaces the selected type layer that s written 'your name here' by the name of the current image (Gustavo)?

    Thank you very much for the help.

    Gustavo.

    This will remove the extension...

    function main() {
    if (!app.documents.length ) return;
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var fnameLayer = doc.layers.getByName("Filename Layer");
    fnameLayer.textItem.contents = doc.name.replace(/\.[^\.]+$/, '');
    };
    main();

  • Extract links from a crash report? Or access the history?

    My computer recently crashed and I had some open links which I desperately need to get back.
    I do not know how to find once again as they were quite difficult to track down in the first place and I made the mistake of bookmarking is not them.
    I thought I might be able to get back them to my story, but for some reason when I re-opened Firefox upward he had got rid of all my links that I had opened and the story was empty? I tried to restore the places.sqlite using Windows restore, but it does not appear to have done something as links still appear more. I have removed and replaced the file with the old version, but it does not appear to have done anything either.

    I was wondering if there is any way to get back on these links? They have appeared before in an accident report, but I never sent it to Mozilla.

    Thanks for any help you can offer

    Let's start with find and save files from session history available to a safe place for potential recovery/recovery operations.

    You can open the settings file (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

    In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button.

    In the window that launches, scroll down and double-click on folder sessionstore-backups . Save all the files here to a safe place, such as your Documents folder. If not too much time has passed, we may be able to use to recover your lost tabs.

    The types of files that you can find among your sessionstore files are:

    • Recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your Firefox session currently live (or, if Firefox is closed, your last session)
    • Recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
    • Previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last session in Firefox
    • Upgrade.js -build_id: windows and tabs in Firefox that was alive at the time of your last update session

    Can take you a look at what you have and the date / time of the different files to see if you think that one of them would be the missing tabs?

    Note: by default, Windows hides the .js extension. To make sure that you look at the files I mentioned, you can disable this feature. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

  • Action to replace the contents of a smart object

    I use CS5/PS to create a collage created multiple images (smart object layers) that I've positioned using clipping masks.

    I would like to be able to replace the content of the images, which I can do via layer > smart objects > replace contents..., but I would like to have an action for a process of 'one-click' instead of three clicks.  Problem is, when I try to record the action, it forces me to complete replacement, and then the action gets wired to replace the image used in the 'record' action and therefore does not allow me to select which image I'd like to use.

    This feature is available in PS Elements, so I think it's possible.  I don't know that miss me something pretty basic, I do not know what!

    Thanks in advance,

  • How can I retrieve all the favourites After erasing the history?

    I just deleted all of my history on my Firefox browser and without knowing it, he took all my favorites with her. I want to know how to recover all the. I've never done a backup of Firefox and I just want them back. I had a lot of ideas for recipes and stuff and I just want them in my bookmarks folder.

    Wow, that should not happen. Have you used the dialog box "Clear recent history" to clear your history, or another method?

    To see if there is a loss of data or a display problem, you can check your bookmarks in the Library dialog box? You can open it using either:

    • "Show all bookmarks".
    • CTRL + SHIFT + b

    If you click on the three categories (Menu bookmarks, Bookmarks Toolbar, Unsorted Bookmarks) can find you something in them?

    If it's all gone, could you try using the rollback feature? This applies to your automatic backups. This article has the steps: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer.

  • Is it possible to prevent automatic scrolling in the history sidebar

    Something that has always been an annoyance for me and perhaps the solution is right under my nose.
    When I watch something in my story, but I'm not sure of the exact link, I often have to toast on several pages to find the exact. The problem is every time I do the side bar autoscroll completely back up which is very annoying back to where I was before.
    Is it possible to disable this auto-scroll to the top of the sidebar (new link in the history).

    Thank you

    When you click a link in the sidebar of history or in the history Manager to open the link for inspection, then you create a new story visit that link and makes the link appear as the first in the list in case you have sorted by visit date.
    The visit of the old is removed (hidden) in the list.

    There is no way to avoid this, other than to copy links to a file or bookmark links and treat them like that.

    Copy and paste this code into the address bar to open an edit window in a tab.
    You can also create a bookmark to the location set to the code for complete data.

    data:text/html,<html><head><title>EDIT window</title></head><body onload="document.body.contentEditable='true';" onclick="if(event.shiftKey){this.contentEditable='false';this.innerHTML=this.innerHTML.replace(/(<\/a>)/ig,'$1<br>');event.preventDefault();}" height="99%" width="100%"></body></html>

    Click to the left of a history item in the sidebar of history to, select that item, but not open it.
    Select multiple items using the shift and the slider down and copy the selected items to the Clipboard using the context menu.

    If you click on the page that was open to the above displayed code data, then you should see a slider.
    Press Ctrl + V or shift + insert to paste the contents of the Clipboard to the page web (the context menu does not work).
    Once you are done copying, you can hold the SHIFT key and click on the text to cut the contentEditable mode has and make clickable links.

    That the code should still work in the Console browser (Firefox/tools > Web Developer) which replaced the error console.

    This will clear the history tab for all tabs and windows and not for a specific tab.
    Also data on closed tabs and windows are removed (history > recently closed Tabs/Windows section).
